The story is about a man who was encouraged to ride his horse and cover as much land area as possible for reward. He rode continuously without stopping to rest or eat, pushing himself and his horse to exhaustion. When he had covered a large area, both he and his horse were dying. He realized then that he only needed a small area of land, and had risked his life unnecessarily to cover more land than was needed. The document suggests that in life, people similarly push themselves hard every day to make more money, gain power and recognition, neglecting time with family and hobbies. However, one day they will realize they did not truly need so much, and cannot turn back time for what was missed.

onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to
cover as much land area as he could. He kept
on riding and riding, whipping the horse . . .

did not stop because he wanted
to cover as much area as
possible. He came to a point
when he had covered a
substantial area and he and the
horse were exhausted . . .

dying!

7. "Why did I push myself so hard to

dying . . .
Then he asked himself,
