What is Design thinking?
1
XMARTACADEMY®
Design Thinking
A way of solving problems in a collaborative,
interdisciplinary way. It is a human centered
approach focusing in creating solutions that
are useful and meaningful to people.

What is a Learning
Studio?
2
XMARTACADEMY®
Design thinking
Learning Studio
It is a place where different people, with different skill
sets and backgrounds get together and collaborate
around a problem. It's a place that is welcoming and
flexible; where design practices and traditional
learning practices merge in a creative community of
learning.

9
Solving
real life
problems
Create situations and real life
contexts based on real
communities needs.
XMARTACADEMY®
10
Asking
questions
Every answer leads to more
questions. A continuous
iteration and evaluation of
solutions.
XMARTACADEMY®
11
Empathy
Design Thinking focuses in
users needs. Telling stories
about the users, their desires,
needs, problems, etc. We can
apply these also on creating
empathy with new
knowledge. Inspiring students
to create a bond with
whatever they are learning or
whom are they creating the
solution for.
XMARTACADEMY®
12
Interdisciplinary
Inquiry
Based on simple observations into real life
problems and combining different backgrounds,
skill sets and disciplines in our reflections, we
create new questions and complex outcomes.
Our iteration exercises are fed up with different
views and interdisciplinary discussions.
XMARTACADEMY®
13
Collaboration
and flexibility
We learn better in collaborative
environments. We allow flexibility in
space and, at the same time, respect the
creative individual pace of each student.
Diverse teams create more.
XMARTACADEMY®
14
Learning
loop
Every learning outcome is
unfinished. We can reinvent
our learning process, receive
feedback, discuss, ask
questions. It is a continuous
understanding and reflection.
XMARTACADEMY®
15
Welcoming
Mistakes
There is always space for mistakes. We
We reflect over them, . what worked,
what didn't. Every learning experience is
valuable for the outcomes.
