TREES
First of all……
Our planning IN TENDER HANDS
 We thought of planting more trees in our school
campus in order to get shadow and to make our
school evergreen and beautiful and to make our school
to be lively.
 To make the awareness among the students to plant
more trees in the village where they live.
 To know the usage of plants and trees.
 To make the students to involve in planting more
trees.
 To know the role of trees in our daily life.
 To understand the importance of trees in saving
the living planet the Earth.
OUR OBJECTIVES
WE CAN…
we have
stepped
into…
 Select the proper place
for planting trees.
 Select the different kinds
of saplings and seeds to
be planted.
 Collect the needed manures
and water for its growth.
WE, THE CONFIDENT
PERSONS
 Number of students participated is 30
 5 groups of each of six students.
Our garden has,
• Neem tree (margosa tree)
• May flower tree
• Peepal tree
• Tamarind tree
• Almond tree
• Guava tree
• Portia tree,
• Papaya tree
• Coconut tree
• Pon arali tree
• Plantain tree
• Vangai tree
• Mango tree
Why we have planted these?
Over the years, billions of tonnes of
carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are
absorbed by the trees.
Cutting of trees and its ill effects ..
 Cutting up of trees may leads to great threat to all
Living Being on Earth.
 If we cut the trees, the carbon dioxide
will be released by the,
vehicles,
factories,
by burning plastics, coals, fules, tyres, etc., will
be stored in the atmosphere and increases the
temperature of the Earth.
 This spreading up of the rate of the global warming will
increase,
the draught areas,
submerging of low level lands in to the seas,
melting of the ice caps,
increasing the diseases.
 Cutting of more trees may also leads to,
deforestation which may cause,
loss of genetic diversity
loss of food grains
loss of biodiversity
Earthquakes
Tsunami and etc.,
WHY WE….
We need more trees to absorb
the amount of additional CO2
in the atmosphere.
However, forests are not being
replaced at the rate, at which
they are being destroyed.
Hence it is our duty to plant
more trees . We, students can
produce more trees but not a
forest in our locality. So each
of us stepped into this activity.

Measures to reach our Goal
With the help of teachers,
 Eco club has been formed.
 We have collected the seeds and covers
for germinating the seeds and to grow
the saplings.
 We used the recommended manures by
getting advises from the formers and
agriculturists.
 We grouped the students for watering
the saplings and plants, manuring,
removing the weeds etc.
 We also encouraged the students to plant
flowering plants and medicinal plants.
Problems faced by us
 In collecting best seeds.
 In selecting the proper places of planting the saplings.
 Making the students to get more awareness regarding
the uses trees and medicinal plants .
 Giving protection to the plants and saplings.
Problems we faced
 In our school we do have small students of I and II
standards, they are always have the temptations to
pluck the seedlings and saplings and even cut the
small branches of the trees.
 Some of the higher class students even pluck the
saplings to their homes.
 The parents of the interested students are not ready to
allow them to work in the garden.
 After school and during the holidays it is highly
difficult to look after the garden.
Steps taken to tackle the problems
 We, one of our group students took care of the small children
not to pluck the plants during the interval times.
 Some of the interested students in small classes are given
some incharge to take care of the plants.
 We have arranged the parents meeting and explained them
about the importance of growing medicinal plants and trees
in school campus and in their houses.
 The importance of separation of bio-degradable and bio-
degradable wastes are explained to them. Saplings are given
to them to plant in their houses.
Changes produced in
students and parents
 Now a days even those kids are
showing much interest in watering
the plants and giving protection to
the plants and trees.
 Even parents are ready give more
ideas to the students and help
them in growing the trees.
 We shared our achievements to
many of the public more than 100.
