This document provides tips for designing better forms. It recommends starting with structure by thinking of a form as a conversation with the user. Key elements to focus on include building trust with the user, preparing them for the form, using headings to guide them through sections, and crafting clear and appropriate questions. When designing the form, best practices include placing labels above fields, using readable fonts and spacing, avoiding dropdowns when possible, and automating validation. Form elements should be designed to be easily filled out on mobile. The document concludes with reading recommendations on the topic of form design.
This deck shows how to design accessible, understandable and mobile-friendly forms. We’ll explore the details of organising and writing good questions, the micro-interactions of form design and some popular challenges such as email and address.
This is a run down of my process for designing, building and testing responsive HTML emails. I’ve also included lots of links to articles and resources for further reading. This talk was presented at Port80 Winter Localhost 2014 in Newport, Wales.

Jensen Harris: Beyond Menus and Toolbars in Microsoft OfficeSteve Williams
BayCHI December, 2005, Program: Long before the launch of the new Office product, the BayCHI community was eager to understand the new "Ribbon" user interface (UI). Members convinced BayCHI program chair Rashmi Singha to bring in Jensen Harris, the lead UI designer for the Office UI suite. It is atypical of Microsoft's culture to allow someone to discuss a product before launch. But, alongside the serious risk of completely redoing a core product, and giving all the design control to a team of user experience designers, Microsoft is opening the black box and explaining it to the public far before launch.
User satisfaction is a key aspect to a successful business application. What makes a good user experience is subjective, but here we the essentials, mixing theory, common practices and code samples to help you put the pieces together in your own applications. Whether you develop for Notes classic, Domino, XPages or other platforms, this presentation has something you can use right away.
Write less. Write better. It’s not just about doing away with words, but instead, improving the user experience by presenting the right information, at the right time, in the right format, to the right audience, and allowing them to make the right decision to stop reading content and start doing what they need to do. From search tools to airlines to the use of clear images, tables, or words, the goal of this session is to help you understand the right things to do to spend less time writing, and more time helping your company, your clients, and your readers reduce headaches and increase profits. See samples, join the discussion, and keep your words to a minimum.
Mimi Yin: Getting Things Done: Technology and PracticeSteve Williams
BayCHI March 14, 2006, program: Chandler is trying our exposure to too much information and not enough time to process, make decisions from the information available. Despite being in the information age, most of our decisions are still based on gut instinct, high-level impressions, tunnel vision (knee-jerk reaction), or someone elses summary.
GTD or Getting Things Done is a task management system or methodology. It is a way of life. It is about putting things where they mean something to you. It is a trusted system. A trusted system is one that is complete and up-to-date.
The relationship between Chandler and GTD is such that Chandler is like a Unitarian church in relation to GTD. Chandler deals with the "spirit of the law" as opposed to the "letter of the law". Chandler picked out high level concepts that are universal and implemented a system aligned with GTD.

Space as medium for interaction designSjors Timmer
In the past 50 years computers have infiltrated the work environment to the point where there’s hardly a job left where they are not used. In the process, however, a rich continuum of understanding the world through sound, touch, spatial interactions has been flattened to pictures behind glass that are either manipulated through mice or touch interactions.
New technical developments such as augmented reality and spatial computing offer the opportunity to rethink how we can incorporate our body in knowledge work. To do this successfully we have to let go of design concepts that have been developed for a world of flat screens and start over with designing for digital spatial interactions.
Building on the work of Paul Dourish on embodied interaction design and David Kirsh on the use of space for cognitively demanding tasks I discuss a framework for thinking about and designing for spatial interactions.
In this talk I discuss to foundations of spatial interaction design by exploring how we’ve used our environment all through the centuries to help us with cognitive tasks.

Transforming Brand Perception and Boosting Profitabilityaaryangarg12
In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability. This paper provides actionable insights and strategic recommendations for businesses seeking to leverage branding, social media, and website design as potent tools to enhance their market position and financial success.
