Burrowing Owls It is 9 -11 inches tall and  23 inches long. It is very small and pudgy. It loves heat. These owls have a  loud hoot. It adapts to its environment by burrowing into hole in the ground when a predator approaches.
Cactus Mouse A cactus mouse needs less water than other mice. It can live in hotter temperatures. It hoards food.
Chuckwallas Before doing anything else, chuckwallas bask in the sun until the optimal body temperature of 100 - 105 degrees F. is reached. Chuckwallas are herbivores.
Prairie Dogs Most Prairie Dogs hibernate during the winter. Prairie Dogs make different sounds identifying various predators.
