The Case Of Henry And Oni
The case study that will be discussed will be Henry and Oni. Henry is a 38 year old born a French
Canadian but primary raised in the United States. Oni is a 48 year old was born and raised in the
United States but part Nigeria and African American. This is the first marriage of Henry but second
for Oni. No first marriageonly last two years because of her ex husband cheating. The couple is
madly in love with each other but worry about the recent fighting and sexual tension. Oni does not
want to have sex with her husband because she has recently caught him watching pornography.
Henry started watching pornography as a release of sexual starvation. Oni confused that she felt
violated when Henry tried to have sex with her during her sleep. She describes feeling like one of
those woman he watches in his videos. The purpose of choosing this particular case study was
because there was a connection of relating to Oni feelings. Initially, the assumption was made that
Oni is feeling that her faith and trust in their marriage has been broken because of Henry s
activities because of her prior experience with her ex husband cheating. Furthermore, the connection
of Henry feeling sexual starved is understandable considering his needs are not being met. Clinical
TheoryThe clinical theory chosen for this clinical evaluation is Solution Focused Based Theory
(SFBT). SFBT would be an appropriate theoretical approach to take with this couple to formulate
solutions and

Social Expectations In The Falling Woman
Society s Control Over Individuals
Beauty is determined by society and their standards. Women are expected to be skinny, pretty and
a size two which puts a lot of pressure on women. The pressures of society persuade women to go
through extreme measures to fit in with society standards. This is evident in the short story The
Falling girl and They re Not Your Husband as the main characters are impacted by social
expectations, insecurity and peer pressure.
Social expectations is a significant component in people s lives, to the point where people
become obsessive over materialistic aspects in life. These expectations creates normality for
individuals and essentially tell individuals how they should behave. There are different social
expectations that are induced for the upper class and the lower class, otherwise known as social
status. The two protagonist Marta from The Falling Girl and Earl from They re Not Your
Husband undergo challenges that they face regarding social expectations and social status,
which in turn shows the similarities between the two short stories. Marta was identified as
someone of lower class, she had dreams and ambitions of being a part of an elite society. Despite
all her aspirations in life, she knew that she would never obtain this lifestyle, which ultimately
lead downfall as she wanted to be a part of society. Marta from The Falling Girl was influenced by
the materialistic aspects in life that she failed to realize she had so much time to

Mercantilism s Effect On The American Rebellion In 1776
The theory of mercantilism is a belief that wealth is power. This led many countries to become
money hungry because the countries wanted to be powerful. Great Britain believed in
mercantilism, as shown in its interactions with its colonies in America. Mercantilism is shown
economically through the many laws that Britain passed that taxed the colonies. In addition, it is
shown socially through the colonists cries of No taxation without representation. Without a doubt,
mercantilisms economic effects led Americans to rebel in 1776. However, mercantilism s social
effects had an even bigger effect on the colonies rebelling from Great Britain.

The Stamp Act shows the major social effect of these taxes. The colonies were so angry about
the Stamp Act, that on the day it was supposed to go into effect, it could not because there was no
one left to sell the stamps. All of the stamp sellers had been scared or forced out of office by the
colonists. The effects of mercantilism were also seen through the colonists cry of No taxation
without representation. They were against all of the taxes Britain set up in the colonies due to the
mercantilist system. The colonists were not directly represented in Britain s parliament, so getting
taxed by Britain irritated the colonists. One final social effect of the mercantilist system of Great
Britain was the nonimportation agreements the colonists had. The colonists agreed to not import
things from Britain and instead make the things themselves. These agreements were also designed
to hurt Britain, since the colonies were a major source of imports and exports for Britain. The
social effects all show how the colonists were tired of taxing, and therefore thought it would be
better to be their own country instead of

MULTIPLE INPUT MULTIPLE OUTPUT (MIMO)
In MIMO system there is multiple antennas is provided at the transmitter side as well as receiver
side. Using multiple antennas at the transmitter and the receiver side could able to increase spectral
efficiency, produces higher capacity and provides more data rates for wireless communication. In
MIMO system there is SU MIMO that is called single user MIMO in which when there is data
rates need to be increased for single user then it is known as SU MIMO, and if there is individual
stream is allocated to multiple users; then it is called multiuser MIMO (MU MIMO).
In MIMO system, let s consider there is Mt transmitting antenna and Mr receive antennas where s=

Functions of MIMO
The main function of MIMO system includes precoding, spatial multiplexing and diversity coding.
Precoding is the process of multi stream beamforming which process at the transmitter. The main
advantage of multi stream beamforming is to increase the received signal input, by making signals
emitted from different antennas add up constructively and it is also able to mitigate the multipath
fading effect. Precoding requires channel state information at the transmitter. When there is
multiple antennas at the receiver, the transmit beamforming cannot simultaneously maximize the
signal level at all the receive antennas, and precoding with multiple stream is used. MIMO antenna
configuration is requires in spatial multiplexing. In spatial multiplexing the high rate signal is
divide into low rate signals and each individual stream is transmitted from different transmit antenna
which is having the same frequency channel. Spatial multiplexing is technique which is capable of
increasing channel capacity at higher signal to noise

Epidermal Keeratinocytes Angiogenesis
As the inflammation receds the proliferation phase begins, in this phase of healing, cellular activity
predominates. The major events during this phase are the creation of a permeability barrier (ie,
reepithelialization), the establishment of appropriate blood supply (ie, angiogenesis), and
strengthening of the injured dermal tissue (ie, fibroplasia). Reepithelialization is the process of
restoring an intact epidermis after cutaneous injury. It generally involves several processes,
including the migration of adjacent epidermal keratinocytes into the wound. Epidermal stem cells
from the hair follicle are now thought to originate from the hair bulge that is believed to be the
germinative portion of the hair and serve as a reservoir for keratinocytes... Show more content on

In response to the injury, microvascular endothelial cells initiate an angiogenic process consisting
of activation of endothelial cells, local degradation of their basement membrane, sprouting into the
wound clot, cell proliferation, tubule structure formation, reconstruction of the basement
membrane, and, eventually, regression and involution of the newly formed vasculature as tissue
remodeling (22). Newly formed vessels participate in granulation tissue formation and provide
nutrition and oxygen to growing tissues. Various cytokines are released by endothelial cells and
macrophages stimulate the process of angiogenesis. Several growth factors play important roles in
wound angiogenesis, they include vascular endothelial growth factor, angiopoietins, fibroblast
growth factor, and TGF b. Vascular endothelial growth factor is a potent mitogen for endothelial
cells and induces endothelial cell migration and sprouting by upregulation of several integrin
receptors (23). Recent study showed that laminins are one of the major extracellular matrix proteins
important in wound angiogenesis, they have profound effects on human skin dermal microvascular
endothelial cells( HDMEC) functions, they promote endothelial cell migration and capillary
structure formation

Aboriginal People
Learning statement
Before taking this course I was not known to the fact that aboriginal people have significant
importance in Canada. This course seemed to be very interesting to me, as it was totally new to
me. It was not only interesting; it opened the gate way to new information which I was never
aware of before. I got to learn a lot of new and interesting facts about the aboriginal people, which
changed my perspective about them, and increased my learning. With the passage of time I got to
learn very interesting facts about aboriginal people, their mixture, and culture and how they
civilized. I have got to know they their historical background still has an impact in the societal life
of Canada.

Analysis Of Basel III
a)CET1 ratio
According to the result in Table 11, the CET1 ratio is statistical significant in the model under
10% level of significance and has a positive relationship with the crisis, although it is not as
expected. If simply analyze from the empirical result, 1 percentage point increase of the common
equity core tier 1 ratio would increase the probability of the financial crisis by 11.23833 percentage
point when all other variables remain unchanged.

Consequently, the CET1 ratio are supposed to have a negative relationship with the probability of
the burst of the financial crisis.
b)RWA ratio
The RWA ratio is not statistical significant in our model and the potential reason has been
discussed. As shown in the line graph in the Appendix 3, the RWA ratio of the sample countries
showed a trend of fluctuating downward during the period of 2005 to 2016, except China. The
RWA ratio of China rose with fluctuations during the period of 2005 to 2012, then it declined
gradually after 2013. In addition, the RWA ratio of the other nine countries declined sharply in
the 2008 financial crisis, which might cause the increase of the CET1 ratio during the crisis. Even
after 2008, the RWA ratio of several countries still decrease gradually, which is a manipulation by
the banking industry. Moreover, the RWA ratio of Greece decreased significantly from 2008 to
2010, and it indicated that Greece suffered both financial crisis and debt crisis.
Purely focus on the risk weighted asset itself, following the financial crisis, it has become quite
important in terms of determining a bank s risk and a potential for calamity. Risk weighted assets

Skull Island Act 1 Scene 2 Essay
Scene 1: The tone of the overture for the film is very dark. This harsh music could foreshadow
fights or arguments during the movie. However, the music also has parts where it speeds up and
slows down. The slow parts could resemble the calm before the storm, which occurs when the
music speeds up.
Scene 2: The mood of the music is very mysterious. The characters do not know what they are
getting themselves into by sailing to Skull Island. They are somewhat nervous about what they are
going to encounter, but seem to be kind of optimistic. The music gives the island an intriguing
atmosphere.
Scene 3: As the crew approaches the island natives, the music crescendos and the drums are very
prominent. They speed up as the crew gets closer and closer signifying the anticipation of meeting
the natives. The strings, percussion, and brass instruments can easily be heard throughout the
scene. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Heroes Of The Trojan War
There are many hero stories in Greek mythology. Many of these can be interpreted as metaphors
when making comparisons to the lives and encounters people today experience. Many Greek myths
influenced important pieces of historic literature which have made it easier for people to find their
own ways of making these personal connections and better understanding their lives. The Trojan war
involved several heroes however Achillesis one that can easily be related to many athletes. Achilles
role in the Trojan war has many common themes that can be related to the story of Cleveland
Brownsquarterback Johnny Manziel and his journey to the National Football Leauge. Both hero and
athlete were considered saviours, they were both very emotional men, and lastly they both enjoyed
great success before experiencing failure through their different achilles heels.
Johnny Paul Manziel is a quarterback for the American football team the Cleveland Browns of
the National Football League. He was drafted 22nd overall in the 2014 draft and was considered
one of the most appealing young quarterbacks of his generation. Manziel attended Texas A M

Summary Of The Noble Treason
For my book review I read the book, A Noble Treason written by Richard Hanser. The Noble
Treason is about Sophie Scholl and the White Rose Revolt against Adolf Hitler. Taking place in
1942, Sophie Scholl and her older brother Hans were bright, young university students in Munich
University in Germany. They had once been passionate supporters of the German renewal
promised by National Socialism, as members of the Hitler Youth. But as their comprehension of
Nazi barbarism grew, so did their moral outrage towards Adolf Hitler. In result, Sophie and Hans
Schollformed a small group of like minded friends, which originally included a student of
philosophy, two medical students, and a fifty year old professor. They were all identified as

He was meaning to show everyone that they are all equal and that every single one is the same no
matter their differences. In my opinion, this true story showed determination and willpower
because The White Rose was persisting in making their country better, not only for themselves
but for future generations. They risked their lives not caring if they broke the law. They knew
that Adolf Hitler was afraid of anyone corrupting the influence that he had over the people. In
addition, I believe that he wanted to recall that even in the harshest times, people can still have
hope and stand up for themselves. For instance, The White Rose changed many perspectives of
others by simply publishing six leaflets which exposed Hitler s cruel ways. He wanted to
emphasize and teach others that everyone has the freedom to think for themselves. Nobody should
force one another what to do or what to think because it is their choice whether or not do will or
will not do

Soft Skills
The aim of this essay is to analyse the relation between the increased demand for soft skills on
recruitment and selection policies. It will firstly evaluate specific methods and then it will discuss
the result of these policies on retention and organisation culture. The essay will also investigate the
possible implications and the significance of soft skills in recruitmentand selection in the service
sector. It will argue that control plays an important role in the relationship that develops between
employees, employers and customers.
The shift towards a service oriented business environment in the UK has been influenced by several
economic, ideological and political changes that took place during the 1980s and the 1990s. ... Show

For this reason, the selection process has begun to use more sophisticated methods in order to
increase the validity and reliability of having the best employee for the organization (Marchington
and Wilkison, 2005). For example, in terms of validity, organisations are advised to use structured
interviews and cognitive ability tests. In terms of reliability, there are three crucial factors: testing
being carried out at different times, the use of two interviewers and repeating the test (Newell,
2005).
Nevertheless, these methods cannot predict employees turnover. Morrell et al. (2001) discuss about
two key concepts: voluntary and involuntary turnover. Voluntary turnover relates to the employee s
decision to leave such as illness or personal reasons. While, involuntary turnover relates to company
related problems such as the need to cut costs or to downsize. Even if organisations develop means
to identify the characteristics that influence turnover, neither of these two types can be successfully
foreseen during the recruitment process. As a result, employers need to secure long term
employment since a labour turnover will have a high cost both in terms of recruitment and selection
and in terms of training sessions meant to enhance the employees soft skills. (Beardwell and
Claydon, 2010).

Ellen Ripley Analysis
Ellen Ripley in the movie shows how a female can do just as much as anyone, and on top of that
willing to fight for the better good and destroy the aliens in order to keep other families safe.
Ripley for one in the beginning of the movie stood her ground on the course of events that
happened on the ship when the attack happened. Ripley stayed true to her word. Not only does
Ripley go and fight, she showed remorse of the loss of her daughter and she has survivors regret
which makes her more personable. But she is able to fight past all that and use her old job
experience to help load the ship to land on LV46. A little point I did notice is the minimal use of
beauty products from Ripley, she is all natural faced. The point I want to make from this was how
people correlate the amount of beauty products used to shallowness and it added to the idea that
Ripley is not shallow and a caring person.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Women s Roles and World War II
If you were born right now, this instant, at you re present age without any knowledge about how
women used to be treated, the assumption could be made that men and women are basically equal.
Yes, men are a little stronger physically, but overall the two sexes are both equal. Things weren t
always so picturesque, though. Since people first settled here, on what is now the United Statesof
America, women were thought of as inferior. Ever so slowly though, the men s view on women
began to change. The change started in the 1920 s but it was going slowly and needed a catalyst.
World WarII was that catalyst. So much so that women ended up participating in the rise of the
United States to a global power.

Thus where there were men in jobs before, there was nobody and with that women flowed into
factories and offices, taking over jobs previously thought that only men could do (Palmer, Colton,

May 22, 1942, will surely go down on the record, predicted the Christian Science Monitor. It was
the day that women joined up with the army... It was obvious; the U.S. needed a larger military
force. Thus women joined the army within organizations. From there came Oveta Culp Hobby, the
director for the first American military organization of women. This organization was called the
WAAC (Women s Army Auxiliary Corps). Many people were impressed by the strength of the
WAAC and it is said that within three months, the AAF was discussing the possibilities of obtaining
more members of the WAAC (Weatherford, p.34).

The WASPS lasted only for one year and in 1944, when the male pilot shortage ended, a proposal
to make the WASPS a part of the Airforce was submitted. The

Beyond The Bayou
First published in 1894, Kate Chopin s short story Beyond the Bayou explores the effect that fear
and loneliness can have on one s world, along with how love and determination can prompt one to
ultimately overcome these emotions. An early childhood trauma has compelled the protagonist of
the story, a womanknown as La Folle, to choose to remain in the isolation of her cabin and the
woods surrounding it, keeping her largely separated from the rest of the world across the bayou.
Her master s house sits across the bayou, and his children revel in visiting La Folle and listening
to her stories. The protagonist is closest with the youngest of the children; Cheri. The two share
a deep bond, one that is tested towards the end of the story when Cheri accidentally stumbles and
his leg is injured by a bullet. La Folle, carrying the injured Cheri in her arms, is forced to face her
greatest fear in order to get the boy help: whether or not to cross the bayou. She is forced to
choose between maintaining her own sense of security or stepping foot beyond the bayou to save
the child she so deeply cares for.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Case Study Of Barclays
3.6.2Barclays Case study
3.6.2.1Barclays: Historical Perspective on the British giant
Throughout the history of multinational banking, British banks have retained large market
shares in a variety of countries over long periods of time (Jones, 1990 and Wilkins, 1970). As
outlined at the initial stage of this dissertation, CSR as a concept appeared for the first time in
the 1950s (Bowen, 1953). On that basis, this sub section will focus on a historical perspective of
Barclays from the post war period onwards. The main banking strategies of the post war period
(1945 1980) emphasized geographical diversification. Barclays established branches overseas on
the grounds that British multinational manufacturers would need the dynamic assistance of British
banks in the post war world. By establishing foreign branches, Barclays signalled to its clients that
it was willing to guarantee all its global assets for local activities. Moreover, several banks
established development corporations, with the intention of providing credit facilities in developing

international expansion: expansion in the markets of developed economies and emphasis on
investment, rather than on retail banking. Regarding the Asian market, Barclays was devoted to the
narrow product service offering. In Singapore it was offering investment banking services solely,
while in Australia it was engaged in lending to small and medium sized

Social Isolation In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
A block of unmoving ice sits waiting until someone makes use of it. For an unknowledgeable
amount of time it spends its existence waiting. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Finally, it melts and no
one discovers it. Ice cannot converse, it cannot socialize. Conversing is to talk and mingle with
others. Socializing does not necessarily indicate conversation, but within spoken word is what the
hoi polloi thinks of when they hear let s socialize with the other members. Language acquisition is
a crucial structure in social psychology; however, before the discovery and subsequent study of a
young girl, known pseudonymously as Genie, the field of study had little development. Genie
spent the first thirteen years of her life as ice. Ignored, spurned, and utterly isolated by her parents,
Genie could not talk because she was never taught. As a result of... Show more content on

Understanding Parasocial Attachment
Men and women of every age have a particular liking or even obsession with a celebrity or
individual they have seen on mass media productions. Whether it s from the news, movies, tv
entertainment, music or even sports, these attachments to people are formed because of a fondness
of a taken persona of that person. Author, Gayle S. Stever, dives into these parasocial relationships
in the field of broadcasting and media and figures out if these affiliations are evolutionary or
socially mediated behaviors in his article Evolutionary Theory and Reactions to Mass Media:

the film Star Trek and celebrities such as Michael Jackson or Paul McCartney. The proper citation
format in humanities is MLA or APA. At the end there was a sizeable reference list in MLA format.
When it comes to the methods of this particular field, aesthetic interpretation, criticism and
rhetorical analysis are the most common techniques. This article follows the more aesthetic
interpretation path, meaning Stever interprets the reason behind our parasocial attachments to
people of higher status while using science. His values in this method however are a little similar to
the values of a normal humanities paper. Traditional values include beauty, morality, importance,
uniqueness, and impactfulness. Stever s values follow along the lines of importance and morality.
He feels that knowing the truth behind these behaviors is important for future knowledge which is

telomere length. Telomere length affects how our cells age, and if they shorten, then it will shorten
one s life as well as makine one more susceptible to disease. This study was a cross sectional and
longitudinal study that resulted in a consistent beneficial effect with aging and health when
consuming a anti inflammatory diet (7). The beneficial effects were that it changed their telomere

A Note On Subprime Loans
Recent mayhem in the American economy attributed to a weakening of business regulation. In the
absence of oversight, lending became a wildcat enterprise. Mortgage brokers easily deceived
home buyers by promoting subprime loans, and then they passed on bundled documents to unwary
investors. These subprime loans were offered at a rate above prime to individuals who did not
qualify for prime rate loans. The loans were made to people who had no other way to access funds,
and little understanding of the mechanics of the loan. A scholarly document on subprime lendingby
Hanif NuMan warns, Servicing prime and alternative A (not subprime) loans, the automated
underwriting systems were designed to the specifications of banks and financial institutions,
and utilized by loan originators to originate more loans as well as develop a database for the
respective entities (NuMan). Subprime loans by and large were issued without regard to what
would happen if the borrower could not repay the loan. Subprime loans commonly have
adjustable rates that have monthly payments that will dramatically increase two years after
receiving the loan. Subprime loans were usually classified as those where the borrower had a
FICO score below 640. Subprime loans can be based on credit scores alone. On the homeowner s
home loan application subprime loans would have the option to use a stated income or even no

Spinal Imobilization In Emergency Medical Services
Spinal immobilization has been a common practice in Emergency Medical Services. The act of
spinal immobilization is normally used when a patient has suffered a significant trauma. Spinal
immobilization consists of securing the body to a rigid, long spinal board, securing the neck with
a cervical collar, and then lastly, securing the head to the board between towels or wedges.
Initially starting with the effectiveness of backboarding, continuing into the vital functions that
backbaording can impede and finalizing with the vacuum mattress versus the traditional
backboard. Ultimately, spinal immobilization of all trauma patients can do more harm than
good, and all cases should not be fully immobilized. Backboarding is currently still being used in
EMS, however is it as effective as it is believed to be? Recent studies have argued that
backboarding is not as effective as previously conceived. Nevertheless, there are steps that can be
taken to increase the effectiveness of spinal immobilization, however, those come with concerns as
well. Padding the voids, or the spaces that are commonly found behind the knees, lower back and

movements of the neck. In addition to doing the same job of a long, spine board, the vacuum

American Invovment in Vietnam Essay
In American History, the nineteen sixties and the nineteen seventies were extremely turbulent and
controversial times. Protest rights were being tested and occasionally suppressed, new moral and
political values began to develop, and the Vietnam War dominated the twenty year period. Vietnam
invited many young activist people to begin a huge movement of anti war protesting denouncing
the war, the government, and even the soldiers who were picked against their will to fight. Reasons
for American entry into the Vietnam War are controversial, and everyone has a different opinion on
why we got into the conflict. Multiplereasons contributed to the entry in Vietnam from support of

Another reason for American entry into the Vietnam War was the commitment that had formerly
been made by the French and the American s into the fight or the support of the fight in Vietnam
for the French colony. The French had been fighting for an Indochina colony after World War Two
to benefit them, but at the same time had been struggling with domestic costs and issues. American
support to the French in the form of millions of dollars to support the war failed, but officially
committed to Americans to a cause in Vietnam in the American governments eyes. In 1954, at
Dienbienphu the French military forces came into conflict with the North Vietnamese forces, called
the Vietminh after their leader Ho Chi Minh, being defeated and leaving the Communist
Vietnamese the victors. The French negotiations left a border at the 17th parallel making North
Vietnam the communist half of the country while the Southern half was the democratic portion. An
election was set up to decide whether the government was to become communist or democratic.
American officials would not stand for this agreement realizing that it would fall to the communist,
so they replaced the French in South
Vietnam and began to train the South Vietnamese Army. This would soon lead us into the actual

Should Therapeutic Cloning Be Banned
There are two sides to the topic of cloning. One side believes it is unethical and should be banned.
The other side believes the benefits and possibilities outweigh the problems. The two most
controversial types of artificial cloning are reproductive cloning, and therapeutic cloning.
Reproductive cloning is the use of cells from a host to create a whole new genetic copy.
Therapeutic cloningis the use of embryonic stem cells to create tissue to replace damaged tissue
and whole organs. The ethical concerns with cloning didn t become a problem until Dolly, the

however, those experiments did not spark much public concern regarding cloning. Over fifty years

There have been several Islamic militant groups in Somalia with the aim of controlling the
country. Al Shabaab is the current of those groups with a claim to make Somali an Islamic state,
while at the same time getting rid of the inter clan wrangles. However, the group s actions were
more of polarizing the communities along religious lines. The Narcissism of minor difference
applies here as well; Somalia s population is overwhelmingly Muslim. However, Al shabaab has
an extremist view of Islam and intends to make everyone follow the same ideas, those who do
not, they believe deserve to die. Solomon argues that Al Shabaab s form of Islam contradicts with
most of Somali s cultural beliefs, hence creating a major rift between the militants and the
population (p352, 2014). The group use the worst kind of violence against people they believe do
not follow the right Islam; from beheading and lynching alleged offenders to bombing local
mosques, restaurants, and learning institutions (various). Again, all of their victims inside Somalia

In this modern day and age, there are many possible solutions to many possible questions. A

are being developed. Some examples of such are, the Mailbox tool, Dropsonde Sensor, and the

the Dropsonde Sensor. This conclusion is clearly evident for a number of reasons. For instance,

Essay Deviance is Relative
Deviance is Relative is a controversial topic that has caused intrigued sociologists to have
debates in order to come to a conclusion. Because there is no absolute standard application
towards deviating behavior, we can only gain knowledge through practical implications, main
ideas, and concepts processes. Practical Implications of Deviance is Relative There is no absolute
way of defining deviating acts. Deviance can only be defined in a relation to certain norms, but no
standards are permanent. Norms can involve being within stereotypical viewpoints. Counter

If society does not have any means of enforcing its norms, then that means anyone can do anything
he/she wants. Without laws, society will become anarchy. An example is a murderer breaking the
law and killing another human being for religious purposes. He will experience negative sanctions.
He will either be on the run, in detention, or facing capital punishment. Because of possible
circumstances, sanctions are necessary. Medicalization of deviance means to make deviance a
medical matter; a symptom of some underlying illness that needs to be treated by physicians.
Certain acts of deviance can be a sign of mental illness: Rape, murder, stealing, cheating and so on.
Mental illness can stand for illogical thinking process. Thomas Szasz argues that mental illnesses
are neither mental nor illnesses. They are simply problem behaviors. The problem with his theory is
behavior results from thinking. Before a person is raped, the rapist contemplates about the most
efficient way to rape someone. His contemplation or thinking process happened before his behavior.
Another example is adultery. Whenever someone commits adultery, the person is aroused by sexual
thoughts first. Subsequently, the act or behavior of adultery proceeds after the thoughts. My own
analyses of stories that had been told to me helped lead me to this conclusion. The thoughts are the
causes which lead to the effects: the behavior. White collar crime is crime committed by

Individualism In Defoe s The Fortunate Mistress
The neoclassical time period served to reinvent the notion of how literature was presented within
society, working to introduce several crucial concepts that worked to alter individual perception,
such as identity, and construct new ways of thinking. One instance of this newfound individualism
can be viewed in Defoe s narrative, The Fortunate Mistress, in which a woman recounts her
personal experience and transformation from a virtuous woman to a whore in response to
unforeseen and unavoidable situations. Critical interpretations of the narrative have neglected to
recognize the significance of how Roxana s role in society and actions depict her as an archetype
for the early feminist individual On the contrary, the majority of critics tend to make the focal point
the end of the novel in order to solidify the argument that the story was abruptly left unfinished and
obscure in nature. As Molesworth puts it, a friendship that has thus far been marked by intimacy,
candor, and forthrightness lapses into an unfamiliarity marked by timidity and apprehension
(Molesworth 495). The tendency to interpret the ending in such a manner has lead to the viewing
of Roxana as an unsuccessful individual, who attempted to deny the norms of social behavior, and
as a result of this, was unable to overcome the obstacles presented and ultimately failed. Be that as it
may, when taking into consideration how Roxana utilizes perception and reflection to analyze her
past experiences, using this

Reflection Paper On Being A Counselor
As a potential counselor, there are different reasons why I choose this journey to be a helper,
servant and a leader. Not only was my early experiences in life a stepping stone towards this path,
but my faith in God and the realities of life led me as well. Even though I am still creating my
future towards this goal, there is no doubt that I am called to be in servitude to others. In this
journey, I am appreciating the learning fundamentals I have gained from the academic coursework,
professionals/teachers and experience that I have encountered to be molded into a multicultural
competent counselor. By taking advantage of this opportunity of learning, I have chosen a
theoretical orientation that best suits me as a potential clinician according to my beliefs, values and
logical thinking. It is also noteworthy to indicate that the self awareness of my beliefs, values,
interests and thoughtprocess has been further explored due to the assessments and activities of the
Life Story Board, Meyer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory (SII), My Career
Story, and Career Genogram, including a reflection of my spiritual walk with Christ.
Life Story Board
As everyone has a story of their journey, my story begins as a child growing up in a traditional
Hispanic/Latino home in a south suburb of Chicago. At a young age, I recognized that I viewed
life differently in comparison to my peers, siblings and parents. My thought process was very
logical, which helped me make rational decisions. It was not often that I made choices according
to my emotions and feelings, but rather choices of what I thought would benefit me in the long
run. However, many of my choices and protests that I did make were against the norm within my
traditional Hispanic/Latino home, gender roles, and religious beliefs. As I reviewed my Life
Story Board, I was able to identify different stages of my childhood/adolescence/teens were I had
either a negative, or a negative/positive experience due to the challenges and consequences of my
logical thought process and actions/reactions. It was a very confusing time for me to live in a
culture where I was constantly being challenged for who I was, without feeling understood.

The purpose of this report is to evaluate the process of the strategic management in the global
competitive environment.
The globalization of the business in our environment has been a source for global organizations to
incorporate the process of a global strategic management.
In this report, we are going to propose three different frameworks from three different group of
authors: Yip, Johnson and Scholes, and Cavusgil and Zou.

Indeed, as we can suppose a multilocal strategy differs from a global strategy.
The same author, Yip, defines a multilocal strategy treating competition in each country or region
on a stand alone basis, while global strategy takes an integrated approach across countries and
regions .
To resume, a global strategy could be defined as the way a business competes in a global market,
plays a vital role in determining the performance of a business in the global market , ( Zou and
Cavusgil, 1995).
Define global strategy is seen as a difficult task because our environment is in permanent change
and companies need to these changes the most efficiently possible.

For example, some people believe that lesbians are not a real sex experience because there is no
phallus involved. This translates to the idea that there needs to be a man and a woman, or aka, the
dominant and the submissive. Therefore, women cannot emulate masculinity only a man can
assume that role. Not even butch lesbian women could mirror that aspect, and if a woman were to
claim that feature then they were pretending to be man. Therefore, a stigma gets attached to
lesbian relationships, and renders the butch as a less desirable being. While in the 19th century
Butch Femme was a more prominent trend in lesbian relationships, it does not translate to today s

contributions to the lightening of homosexual views as revolting . On the one hand, common
lesbians are stereotypically viewed as obese, short haired, and ugly women. On the other hand,
with the rise of online dating apps, especially for the homosexuals, more attractive women are

Title: 4 Things You Likely Don t Know About Facebook Marketing
Have you been marketing on Facebook but don t seem to be getting a lot out of it? Are you
measuring your social media activities? As a business, you definitely should be, but many don t.
According to a recent report, only 42% of business surveyed stated that they were able to measure
their social activities.
When you spend money on advertising, you should be paying attention to your return on
investment (ROI). However, in 2014, only 37% of business said they were able to measure this
figure. Compare that number to the 87% of businesses who said they planned to increase their time
and money investment on social media, and you can see that there is an issue with those figures.
Many businesses using social media today don t know what it is doing for them, but they continue
to spend time and money on those platforms. Would you spend money on a diet meal service but
never get on a scale to see if you are making improvements in your health and weight? Blindly
spending money on Facebook without tracking your results is essentially the same thing. Wouldn t
you like to have a successful marketing strategy that allows you to see positive results?
Don t get me wrong, there are plenty of ready to act prospects on Facebook that will fill your sales
funnel and give you the revenue you need. However, there are certain

The Lord of the Flies is talking to Simon saying that the beast is the evil inside us all. Simon

The Civil Rights Movement caused conflict after African Americans in Southern states were
mistreated and had very different rights as the white. Some of the inequalities that African
Americans had to face include the opportunities for housing, education and employment, the right

aspect since discrimination and segregation were legal. With a great leader such as Dr. Martin

In 1941 A. Philip Randolph was going to lead an all black march on Washington unless President
Franklin D. Roosevelt did something in respect to ending racial discrimination. Roosevelt did not
want the march to be successful and become a bigger problem so he agreed to a Fair Employment
Practices Committee. Movements kept growing and were becoming more popular as African
Americans from the South tried to increase black voting strength that even soldiers were returning
home to fight this racism. Activists were trying to end school segregation as well. The protestors
were risking everything since homes were burned and churches as well. At this point everyone s
goal was to at least have equality between black and white schools instead of racial integration. In
1950 NAACP decided to take everything to the court and fight for what they believed in. Brown V.
Board of Education in Topeka apparently originated in Roberts v. City of Boston...(1849),
upholding school segregation against attack as being violative of a State constitutional guarantee of
equality (Primary Source Suppliment 1 P.29 2). In 1955 grassroot activists in Montgomery,
Alabama created a boycott. Rosa Parks, Nixon, and NAACP were part of this boycott that later
became well known in Montgomery. This Montgomery movement was then leaded by Martin
Luther King Jr. who created his Southern Leadership Conference (SCLC) to help him with these

Executive Summary:

equips educators with a solid knowledge base; instructional tools and a school system that supports
the implementation of the program.

Chronic Sinusitis
Sinusitis is the inflammation or the swelling of the membrane that lines the paranasal sinuses.
Normal sinuses are filled with air but a person who suffers from sinusitis has their sinuses filled
with fluid, bacteria/viruses/fungi. The fluid, bacteria/viruses/fungi result in the sinus infection
(WebMD, 2015). The paranasal sinuses are composed of four pairs of air filled spaces: Frontal
sinuses Ethmoid sinuses Maxillary sinuses Sphenoid sinuses These air filled spaces are located
around the area of the eyes and the nasal cavity. Most common symptoms include nasal discharge
and pain in the facial region (NIAID). Viral sinuses takes 10 days to improve and the symptoms
don t get worse on the other hand a bacterial sinus does not have a set amount of days it s defined
by the duration of the symptoms. Fungal sinus is associated with chronic sinuses, this results
because of weak immune systems or long term antibiotics (Casperen, 2015).... Show more content

Concert Report Beethoven
Concert Report
I went to see All Beethoven at the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, July 16. This concert featured
Los Angeles Philharmonic and violin soloist Martin Chalifour under the leadership of conductor
Bramwell Tovey. LA Phil is an outstanding, awarded symphony orchestra that performs at the
Hollywood Bowl and Walt Disney Concert Hall all year round. Martin Chalifour is a well known
solo violinist while serving as the Principal Concertmaster of the LA Phil. Last but not least,
Bramwell Tovey is a Grammy winning conductor who had been conducting many other orchestras
beside the LA Phil.

6, also composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Symphony No. 6 is also known as the Pastoral
Symphony, this symphony includes five movements unlike the typical traditional four movement
symphonies, as expected from Beethoven, the one who loved to break rules in the world of
music. Besides composing music all day every day, Beethoven also loved to walk in country and
enjoy the peacefulness of nature. The very first rough draft for Symphony No. 6 was composed
while he was out in the rural area, which explains the origin of the ideas behind the symphony. The
Allegro Ma Non Troppo movement is the first movement of Symphony No. 6, it describes the
cheerful pleasant feeling that one should enjoy while staying in the countryside. Most of the
melodies in this movement are considered as conjunct, with this feature in the movement, it really
gives a smooth and gentle feeling to the audience. Instead of referring this movement to a musical
period, I believe it would be more suiting to discuss why Beethoven would compose such melody,
it felt like a call to the countryside in my

Old Imperialism vs. New Imperialism Essay
Imperialism is the spread of control over territories across the globe. The Industrial Revolution
and interests in nationalism created a new period of imperialism around 1750. Old imperialism
lasted from 1450 1750, but imperialism alone remained until 1914.Old imperialism and new
imperialism shared the same basic concept of controlling and utilizing foreign countries. Old
imperialism focused mainly on systems of trade while new imperialism took bolder steps to
overtaking nations. Old Imperialism was the period from 1450 1750, in which powers were
motivated by gold, glory, and God . Political power was controlled by central governments while
leaders were busy trying to increase their power. National wealth was widely viewed as holder of...

Europeans sought out lands that provided new sources of raw materials, cheap labor, markets, areas
of investment, and military boosters. As European nations became competitive with one another,
there was an increased pressure to practice Imperialism to maintain power. New Imperialism was
motivated greatly by the Industrial Revolution and its advancements, and efficiency of
manufacturing and supplying products. European nations also focused on opening trade routes that
would give them places to sell their goods. Also significant was the Europeans desire to Christianize
and civilize other nations through missionary work and the enforcement of European cultures and
beliefs. The new Imperialism brought on social changes as well. Many people urged the taking up
of the White Man s Burden , bringing the European version of civilization to the rest of the world,
regardless whether they wanted it or not. While old Imperialism and new Imperialism obviously
differed they do share some of the same concepts. During each era, both focused on building their
nation stronger, superior, and more enhanced than everyone else through political, economic, and
militaristic strategies. Both Imperialisms brought on war, hatred, and strong levels of competition
among the World. They brought on ethnic diversity as well as cultural diversity throughout. Each
significantly boosted economies worldwide, creating hatful competition which would lead to big

ELA2603 Administrative and Personnel Law
Americans with Disabilities Act (1990) President George H. W Bush signed the American with
Disability Act (ADA) of 1990 into law on the 26th July of the same year. The law seeks to protect
people with a disability from discrimination during job placement, employment opportunities,
accommodation, and transportation. The law also grants people with a disability the rights to
participate in political, social, and governmental services, and the right to purchase goods and
services (ADA, 2008). ADA also states that people with a disability have an equal right just like

The law requires that no one should discriminate any person based on their disabilities. My
organization should use this provision to employ more people with a disability. They should
award some of the vacant positions to people with a disability to enable these people to earn a
decent living since many of them are better educated than the rest of the population (US
Department of Labour, 2008). On the same note, the company should rely on the law to employ
many people to demonstrate its loyalty and adherence to the law. Employing people with a
disability will give the firm an upper hand as a peoples company that does not discriminate along
disability lines. For those few disabled people already working in the firm, the company must ensure
that they come up with effective working conditions to ensure that they perform their duties

This journal article examines the important personal experiences of boys who became child soldiers
in the Sierra Leone civil war. Through, the lens of the structuration theory, the authors of the article
examined how these boys were transformed into the armed forces. In addition, the authors discuss
some of the challenges that child soldiers encounter during rehabilitation. The first author s main
point introduces the structuralist theory. Incorporating the ideas of Anthony Giddens the authors
emphasize that structuration rejects the concepts of structure and agency and instead connects
these two ideas by looking at individual interactions in a particular event and location. Using this

Personal Narrative-Damn Center
Just about enough. I ve had just about enough of this place and simply cannot take it any longer.
I look around me and see gray walls of concrete covering the entire perimeter of the room. An
iron wired bunk bed occupies the far left corner of the room with one white pillow and a white
blanket on the top bunk. On the top right of the wall is a window. It s the only light aside from
the brightness of the white linens; the only connection to the outside world. I would try to use
the window to escape, but they put up bars to prevent that from happening. Again. Right now, I
am sitting at the cemented bench by the wooden door across from the bed, staring at the wall.
The room in general is cold, damp, and dark. Aside from that, I just cannot take it any longer, but,
honestly, what can I do? I have tried to cut off the bars with my knives, which I snuck out of mess
hall, only to have them used against me, and then taken away. Once I even tried dressing up as one
of the guards, but I was caught and the result...was not at all a pretty sight.... Show more content on

  • 3. Social Expectations In The Falling Woman Society s Control Over Individuals Beauty is determined by society and their standards. Women are expected to be skinny, pretty and a size two which puts a lot of pressure on women. The pressures of society persuade women to go through extreme measures to fit in with society standards. This is evident in the short story The Falling girl and They re Not Your Husband as the main characters are impacted by social expectations, insecurity and peer pressure. Social expectations is a significant component in people s lives, to the point where people become obsessive over materialistic aspects in life. These expectations creates normality for individuals and essentially tell individuals how they should behave. There are different social expectations that are induced for the upper class and the lower class, otherwise known as social status. The two protagonist Marta from The Falling Girl and Earl from They re Not Your Husband undergo challenges that they face regarding social expectations and social status, which in turn shows the similarities between the two short stories. Marta was identified as someone of lower class, she had dreams and ambitions of being a part of an elite society. Despite all her aspirations in life, she knew that she would never obtain this lifestyle, which ultimately lead downfall as she wanted to be a part of society. Marta from The Falling Girl was influenced by the materialistic aspects in life that she failed to realize she had so much time to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Mercantilism s Effect On The American Rebellion In 1776 The theory of mercantilism is a belief that wealth is power. This led many countries to become money hungry because the countries wanted to be powerful. Great Britain believed in mercantilism, as shown in its interactions with its colonies in America. Mercantilism is shown economically through the many laws that Britain passed that taxed the colonies. In addition, it is shown socially through the colonists cries of No taxation without representation. Without a doubt, mercantilisms economic effects led Americans to rebel in 1776. However, mercantilism s social effects had an even bigger effect on the colonies rebelling from Great Britain. Mercantilism is a theory that wealth is power. The colonies were so angry about the Stamp Act, that on the day it was supposed to go into effect, it could not because there was no one left to sell the stamps. All of the stamp sellers had been scared or forced out of office by the colonists. The effects of mercantilism were also seen through the colonists cry of No taxation without representation. They were against all of the taxes Britain set up in the colonies due to the mercantilist system. The colonists were not directly represented in Britain s parliament, so getting taxed by Britain irritated the colonists. One final social effect of the mercantilist system of Great Britain was the nonimportation agreements the colonists had. The colonists agreed to not import things from Britain and instead make the things themselves. These agreements were also designed to hurt Britain, since the colonies were a major source of imports and exports for Britain. The social effects all show how the colonists were tired of taxing, and therefore thought it would be better to be their own country instead of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Functions of MIMO The main function of MIMO system includes precoding, spatial multiplexing and diversity coding. Precoding is the process of multi stream beamforming which process at the transmitter. The main advantage of multi stream beamforming is to increase the received signal input, by making signals emitted from different antennas add up constructively and it is also able to mitigate the multipath fading effect. Precoding requires channel state information at the transmitter. When there is multiple antennas at the receiver, the transmit beamforming cannot simultaneously maximize the signal level at all the receive antennas, and precoding with multiple stream is used. MIMO antenna configuration is requires in spatial multiplexing. In spatial multiplexing the high rate signal is divide into low rate signals and each individual stream is transmitted from different transmit antenna which is having the same frequency channel. Spatial multiplexing is technique which is capable of increasing channel capacity at higher signal to noise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The major events during this phase are the creation of a permeability barrier (ie, reepithelialization), the establishment of appropriate blood supply (ie, angiogenesis), and strengthening of the injured dermal tissue (ie, fibroplasia). Reepithelialization is the process of restoring an intact epidermis after cutaneous injury. It generally involves several processes, including the migration of adjacent epidermal keratinocytes into the wound. In response to the injury, microvascular endothelial cells initiate an angiogenic process consisting of activation of endothelial cells, local degradation of their basement membrane, sprouting into the wound clot, cell proliferation, tubule structure formation, reconstruction of the basement membrane, and, eventually, regression and involution of the newly formed vasculature as tissue remodeling (22). Newly formed vessels participate in granulation tissue formation and provide nutrition and oxygen to growing tissues. Various cytokines are released by endothelial cells and macrophages stimulate the process of angiogenesis. Several growth factors play important roles in wound angiogenesis, they include vascular endothelial growth factor, angiopoietins, fibroblast growth factor, and TGF b. Vascular endothelial growth factor is a potent mitogen for endothelial cells and induces endothelial cell migration and sprouting by upregulation of several integrin receptors (23). The RWA ratio of China rose with fluctuations during the period of 2005 to 2012, then it declined gradually after 2013. The Noble Treason is about Sophie Scholl and the White Rose Revolt against Adolf Hitler. Taking place in 1942, Sophie Scholl and her older brother Hans were bright, young university students in Munich University in Germany. They had once been passionate supporters of the German renewal promised by National Socialism, as members of the Hitler Youth. But as their comprehension of Nazi barbarism grew, so did their moral outrage towards Adolf Hitler. In addition, I believe that he wanted to recall that even in the harshest times, people can still have hope and stand up for themselves. For instance, The White Rose changed many perspectives of others by simply publishing six leaflets which exposed Hitler s cruel ways. He wanted to emphasize and teach others that everyone has the freedom to think for themselves. It will firstly evaluate specific methods and then it will discuss the result of these policies on retention and organisation culture. The essay will also investigate the possible implications and the significance of soft skills in recruitmentand selection in the service sector. It will argue that control plays an important role in the relationship that develops between employees, employers and customers. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this reason, the selection process has begun to use more sophisticated methods in order to increase the validity and reliability of having the best employee for the organization (Marchington and Wilkison, 2005). For example, in terms of validity, organisations are advised to use structured interviews and cognitive ability tests. In terms of reliability, there are three crucial factors: testing being carried out at different times, the use of two interviewers and repeating the test (Newell, 2005). Nevertheless, these methods cannot predict employees turnover. Morrell et al. (2001) discuss about two key concepts: voluntary and involuntary turnover. Voluntary turnover relates to the employee s decision to leave such as illness or personal reasons. While, involuntary turnover relates to company related problems such as the need to cut costs or to downsize. Even if organisations develop means to identify the characteristics that influence turnover, neither of these two types can be successfully foreseen during the recruitment process. As a result, employers need to secure long term employment since a labour turnover will have a high cost both in terms of recruitment and selection and in terms of training sessions meant to enhance the employees soft skills. But she is able to fight past all that and use her old job experience to help load the ship to land on LV46. Beyond The Bayou First published in 1894, Kate Chopin s short story Beyond the Bayou explores the effect that fear and loneliness can have on one s world, along with how love and determination can prompt one to ultimately overcome these emotions. An early childhood trauma has compelled the protagonist of the story, a womanknown as La Folle, to choose to remain in the isolation of her cabin and the woods surrounding it, keeping her largely separated from the rest of the world across the bayou. Her master s house sits across the bayou, and his children revel in visiting La Folle and listening to her stories. The protagonist is closest with the youngest of the children; Cheri. The two share a deep bond, one that is tested towards the end of the story when Cheri accidentally stumbles and his leg is injured by a bullet. La Folle, carrying the injured Cheri in her arms, is forced to face her greatest fear in order to get the boy help: whether or not to cross the bayou. As outlined at the initial stage of this dissertation, CSR as a concept appeared for the first time in the 1950s (Bowen, 1953). Individualism In Defoe s The Fortunate Mistress The neoclassical time period served to reinvent the notion of how literature was presented within society, working to introduce several crucial concepts that worked to alter individual perception, such as identity, and construct new ways of thinking. Critical interpretations of the narrative have neglected to recognize the significance of how Roxana s role in society and actions depict her as an archetype for the early feminist individual On the contrary, the majority of critics tend to make the focal point the end of the novel in order to solidify the argument that the story was abruptly left unfinished and obscure in nature. As Molesworth puts it, a friendship that has thus far been marked by intimacy, candor, and forthrightness lapses into an unfamiliarity marked by timidity and apprehension (Molesworth 495). The tendency to interpret the ending in such a manner has lead to the viewing of Roxana as an unsuccessful individual, who attempted to deny the norms of social behavior, and as a result of this, was unable to overcome the obstacles presented and ultimately failed. Symphony No. 6 is also known as the Pastoral Symphony, this symphony includes five movements unlike the typical traditional four movement symphonies, as expected from Beethoven, the one who loved to break rules in the world of music. Besides composing music all day every day, Beethoven also loved to walk in country and enjoy the peacefulness of nature. The very first rough draft for Symphony No. 6 was composed while he was out in the rural area, which explains the origin of the ideas behind the symphony. The Allegro Ma Non Troppo movement is the first movement of Symphony No. 6, it describes the cheerful pleasant feeling that one should enjoy while staying in the countryside. Most of the melodies in this movement are considered as conjunct, with this feature in the movement, it really gives a smooth and gentle feeling to the audience. Instead of referring this movement to a musical period, I believe it would be more suiting to discuss why Beethoven would compose such melody, it felt like a call to the countryside in my ... Also significant was the Europeans desire to Christianize and civilize other nations through missionary work and the enforcement of European cultures and beliefs.
