Simply having a job at all is the limit of their ambition. The low aspirations of these working class
young people embed the status quo. These young people see nothing wrong with their life plans
and were, for the most part, perfectly happy with their lot in life. Most of the young people come
from homes where money is tight and only a few of them sport the latest trainer or gadget.
The school system supports the dominant ideology, Kingsmeadow is classed by Ofsted (2010) as a
good school, even though, the Governments own league table place Kingsmeadow School second
to bottom in educational attainment within the Borough.
These young people are generally happy at school, the atmosphere is pleasant and reasonably
respectful but exam results are poor. Gramsci would state that the education system was enabling
the hegemonic ideology by consent and perpetrating the false consciousness that this level of
attainment and aspiration is normal and entirely appropriate for these young people. Neither
student, parent, teacher, governor nor the wider community appear to challenge the status quo.
Young people from higher social classes are enabled to succeed and to have higher aspirations
from early childhood. Access to higher attaining schools, being able to pay for private education,

The group constantly sends threatening letters, and notes about the Armstrong case to Ratchett that
eventually starts to make him seem paranoid and crazy. People around him just believe he is
losing his mind, so they ignore him until he is actually dead. Furthermore, the assassins attempt to
mislead the detectives when they purposely leave belongings of the murderer in Ratchett s room
to make it seem as though they are trying to incriminate that person. Colonel Arbuthnot is the only
person on the train who admits to smoking using a pipe, so the pipe cleaner found in Ratchett s
room makes it seem as though someone is trying to frame him. This makes the detectives feel as
though Colonel is innocent, which is another example of the processed thinking the murderers do.
Finally, Ratchett is stabbed twelve time, which is both a metaphor, and part of the revenge. The
group feels as though proper justice is not served in the Armstrong, so they stab Ratchett twelve
time symbolizing twelve jury members, as well as a stab for each other as revenge. Poirot realizes
the connection when he says, And then, Messieurs, I saw light. They were all in it. . . . A jury is
composed of twelve people there were twelve passengers Ratchett was stabbed twelve times (306).
The metaphor and emotion behind the stabbing makes it clear that the murder of Ratchett is an act

department of Philosophy had sexist biased in the decision to reward fellowships to only male
graduate students. She also points out the department is known for covering up issues of sexual
harassmentand harboring perpetrators of sexual harassment, some of which she has personally
experienced. When confiding in a male cohort, Dean, he says her accounts are a
misrepresentation of the department, and that there are, only a few bad apples . Likewise, he
minimizes Summer s points and says she is just upset that she did not win a fellowship from the
department. If Summer were to at this point get angry at the situation, she would be justified in
her anger because of her perspective in the situation, and Dean as a member of the oppressor
group is in the wrong for trying to discredit and perpetuate the gender oppressive environment. To
begin, we should discuss two opposing views on the aptness of anger. A classic stoic argument on
anger comes from the first century roman philosopher Seneca, in his book On Anger. In his first
extract of his book Seneca describes how anger is uncontrollable and therefore useless (Seneca,
101). To support this, in the second extract, Seneca rebukes the argument that anger can be used as
motivation, by stating that he believes virtue and moral outrage at injustice can provide enough
motivation to make change (Seneca, 103). Further, in his third extract, Seneca argues that anger
should not be used as motivation because he believes the very nature of anger is precarious,
therefore untrustworthy. Rather, humans have been equipped with reason for both foreseeing
issues, and to use as motive for change (Seneca, 104). Thus, Seneca says gaining control and
overcoming ones emotions is the only way to live a productive in making change to moral injustice

Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Wilfred Owen was one of the young men who decided to enlist,

poem Dulce et Decorum Est, as a piece to show people that there is no glory in war; only
destruction, decay, and death. Despite the poem appearing to have a simple structure, it is revealed
to be much more complex. Dulce et Decorum Est appears to follow the iambic pentameterpoem
construction style, but that is ultimately not the case. An iambic pentameter style poem should
have the set up where there are ten syllables or five feet in each line, with a stressed and then

Since this is not a fixed price contract, it s quite common that cost overruns occur due to the
scope of services not being well defined. I would consider my options and try to make a decision
considering the most effective and efficient way to complete the project. If additional funds and
cost overruns are inevitable, I would try to determine if it would be worth it to crash the project
and reduce costs in another way. It even depends on the kind of cost plus contract. A CPF contract
for example would actually give the seller an incentive to overspend because the higher the cost the
higher the profit. So I would be more than glad to be involved considering the circumstances.

the first assignment, a 5 paragraph essay had me thinking you re a crazy person for going back to
school, it s been 11 years since you had to write a paper. What are you thinking? I told myself its 5
weeks (later I would realize actually 6) you can make it 5 weeks! Although I knew writing wouldn t
be my easiest subject, I knew I had to try my hardest. This class was condensed and hard, but
effective and informative; I ve learned so much, felt all sorts of emotions and know I can apply
what I ve learned in classes to come. When I reflect back on this class, I m grateful for what I ve
learned. I can t imagine starting the online college experience with a different class. I imagine what
that would have been like, and I can t help but think, it would have been rough and I wouldn t have

One way you can tell that his is the real world is shot with a blue hue to it and this blue hue is meant to represent the real world from the Matrix which is only shot with a green hue. Another extreme long shot that has significance to the scene and to the movie is the extreme long shot that shows the never ending fields which shows where human babies are grown and farmed and harvested like corn in a field. It first shows up close a few babies being harvested and I think this is shown to show the insane reality and terribleness which has happened to mankind, and to make the scene much more dramatic it zooms out to show how big these fields are and that there are thousands of never ending fields and this extreme long shot is used to show the extent of how much mankind has fallen to their own creations.
