1) Strontium ranelate and sodium fluoride were studied for their effects on bone remodeling after tooth extraction and integration of dental implants. 2) Female rats had lower molars extracted and immediately received dental implants under anesthesia. They were given strontium ranelate, sodium fluoride, or a combination of the two to study their effects. 3) Results showed strontium ranelate increased bone density and improved healing after extraction compared to the control. The combination of strontium ranelate and sodium fluoride led to more rapid maturation of new bone tissue forming around the implants. Therefore, the combination of strontium and fluoride may help with integration of dental implants.
