forbidden in the Hindu Caste System. The same had garnered attention
in the form of memes while Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana had a rerun
during the lockdown wherein the image of Lakshman is seen to be in
absolute disdain as a reaction to Ram’s rebellion.

better representation of the deaf community.

director of the same, who adapted the movie on an equally
controversial Urdu story back from the the early 40s, chose to name
two of the female leads of the movie by the names of the most
revered women of the Hindu mythology, set around themes which
