Analysis Of KFC
Fast food is the food that requires little preparation before being served. Kentucky Fried Chicken

Essay On Moment Of Self Discovery
My moment of self discovery was a coincidence. It was August 13th and it occurred right after
my shift was over in Burger King. It started when I was going to Liberty bell gas station to hang
out with my friends Julia and Deanne. They were two liberty bell regulars because they always
bought cigarettes or loosies from liberty and they were pretty hard to miss. Julia was pale and
had green hair but a green that resembled the statue of liberty. I met her through Deanne around
January of 2017 and I liked how easy going she was. Deanne, on the other hand, was a brunette
with a blonde highlight in the front of her hair. I met Deanne through her ex boyfriend Aj, who
was also a close friend. Deanne was from the suburbs and she moved to Philadelphiain August of
2016. I resided in philadelphia for 8 years and I hated how everyone is connected to each other
there. I did quite a good job removing my ties from people I didn t want to be connected to. The
day I had my moment of self discovery I ran into a few people I cut ties with. When I met up with
Deanne and Julia, I seen an old friend Jessica and her cousin at Liberty bell. I was friends with her
in 5th grade but I had to stop being her friend because we were going opposite directions in life.
Jessica came up to me and said, Moe are you down to smoke with us . I went over to deanne and
julia and I asked you down to do it . Deanne replied yea we re down . We walked with Jessica and
her cousin to an alleyway. It was kind of

Essay about What Really Happened During the First...
There can be countless records of the same event, and while many times each record is different,
there are also incidents in which one needs to know every record to piece together what really
happened. The story of the first Thanksgiving takes place in 1621, and is generally known as a
meal that was shared between the Pilgrims and the Indians. For the Pilgrims, this was a harvest
festival, much like one they would have had in England. For the Indians, it was a show of
hospitality from the Pilgrims, similar to what they would expect from visiting another Indian tribe.
With being told only that, one can already see that there are already two very different histories of
the same event recorded. Of greater interest, perhaps, are the different... Show more content on

The History Channel s Desperate Crossing tells the story of the Pilgrims, their journey to
Plymouth, their horrible first year, and finally, the first Thanksgiving. Desperate Crossing follows
the accounts of both Winslow and Bradford fairly well, but begins to deviate slightly. They show
that the Pilgrims and Indians played games, drank, and raced, and competed together, some of
which are only vaguely and briefly alluded to by Winslow, and never by Bradford. The History
Channel also shows a much more tense situation than the impression given from Bradford and
Winslow. According to the History Channel, everything from Massasoitshowing up with his ninety
some men and the Pilgrims firing their arms is all a display of strength from both sides.
The History Channel obviously takes some liberties in their presentation of history. Winslow and
Bradford do not mention anything about the clothing worn, if there was any drinking involved,
if there was silverware, where the feasts were held, and many other seemingly trivial details.
Desperate Crossing makes some assumptions on what took place in 1621, but it does quote both
Winslow and Bradford word for word. While we re shown a picture that may or may not actually
represent what took place at the first Thanksgiving, at the very least, we re given Winslow s and
Bradford s descriptions of it. The History Channel used what was already known from the eye
witness accounts combined with what

Pesticide Pollution
Fertilizer and pesticide usage has increased dramatically worldwide, especially in China. Twenty
years of uncontrolled economic development have created serious, chronic air and water pollution.
In order to support China s growing population, the country has drastically increased its usage of
fertilizers and pesticides in the agricultural sector. China consumes around a third of global
fertilizers, with rapid growth in use in recent years, driven largely by higher fruit and vegetable
production. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides threatens both public health and
agricultural productivity. Many farmers choose to use chemicals to keep weeds and pests from
destroying their crops while adding more nutrients to the soil. Yet such benefits do not come
without environmental costsnamely the pesticide pollution of China s streams, rivers, lakes, and
even coastal areas, as these toxic chemicals runoff into nearby waterways, contaminating the food,
drinking water causing massive health problems.
While fertilizers and pesticides, as stated above, provide economic benefits for the farmers in
terms of increasing yields; but also provide adverse impacts. These impacts on the environment are
called negative externalities. According to researchers, not many measures are being taken in order
to enforce safe, organic, and healthy fertilization. If a good has a negative externality, then the cost
to society is greater than the cost consumer is paying for it. Since

Descriptive Writing On A Coral Reef
February was deep into Summer and the water was bright blue, the beautiful colour of the sky. The
animals moods could not be down today. The fish in the Ocean were playing tag, the dolphins were
dancing and the turtles were singing in the reef. The centre of the reef, which was beautiful, vibrant
and teeming with life. Two towering magnificent coralis see able from kilometres around. The
knowledgeable turtle even said he saw the corals from the other end of the reef while teaching his
hatchlings what type of food is good to eat.
These corals were major to the animals, if not significant to the reef as well. They were home to
numerous of species, regardless of the possibility that those species didn t have any acquaintance
with it. The fish sleeping in the anemone, the Dolphins resting on the shallows of the reef, turtles
hid under the multitudes of the submerged rocks, seahorses and crabs slept in the sea grass, and the
manta ray sleep under the sand to seek frequent shelter in the sand. It was a gorgeous view,
everything was so serene, calm, and placid. Mother Nature herself loved this Reef, for the Moon
watched over them to keep them safe and warm. Nothing terrible could ever show up at this reef.
The sun came up; another day has begun. The deepest shades of night were replaced with bright
magnificent colours, the reef became a busy neighbourhood. the turtles swam out of nest, the
woken hatchlings laughed with joy. The fish scuttled out of the anemone womb meanwhile

Monotheistic Religion Essay
Religion is something that basically everyone has in common. In all corners of the world and in
all eras of history, humans have wondered about the origins of the world, the purpose of life, what
it means to be human and live life, and what happens after death. What is a monotheistic religion?
This one word is defined as believing in the existence of one god or in the oneness of God.
Monotheism shows the traditions of BГЎbism, Cao Dai (Caodaism), Cheondoism (Cheondogyo),
Christianity, Deism, Islam, Judaism, all believing in just one God. In our society you can voice
your concerns, opinions and state your beliefs as to which religion you need to or want to serve.
Religion is the confidence in and love of a superhuman controlling power, considerably a personal
God. Some may consider it to be an arrangement of confidence and love. Religion adds the reason
to the lives of many supporters, allowing them an energy about the previous life, a comprehension
of the present right then and there, and seek after what s to come in the future. Religions have,
images, and respected histories that intend to clarify the importance of life, the beginning of life, or
the inter world. Numerous religions have sorted out practices, special holidays, sacred spots, and
sacred texts. Any and all religions incorporate ceremonies, sermons, celebrations, feasts, funerals,
weddings, music, craftsmanship, move, open administration, or different parts of human society.

a very well life with many opportunities. According to Biography.com Editors, Babbage was born
on December 26, 1791, in London, England. He came from a family of wealth and leisure. Babbage
went to a great school and had great determination towards math, his mathematics professors
actually knew less than he did. In 1810, he was accepted to Trinity College, Cambridge, he then
later transferred to Peterhouse, Cambridge where he received an honorary degree in
mathematics. He later became an English mathematician, philosopher, and inventor. In 1812,

the European continents into English mathematics. During 1816, he was elected a fellow of the
Royal Society of London, he was instrumental in founding the Royal Astronomical (1820) and
statistical (1834) societies. In 1791 1871 he developed the Analytical Engine project after an earlier
computing project, the Difference Engine, that Babbage started in 1822. Babbage started designing

Employment At The United States
Employment at will
Employment at will is a common law that governs work relationships in most states in the U.S.
The rule states that if an employee is contracted by an employer for an indefinite period of time
then the contract can be terminated by either the employee or the employer at any time and for
any given reason unless there is another law in places that guide otherwise. This simply implies
that if an employee is hired under the at will law then the employer can fire the employee for any
reason at any time without prior warning or communication. An employee, on the other hand, may
decide to leave the job at any time without reason or prior warning. The At will employment
became part of the common laws for employment in the United States in the late 19th century.
However, it has been modified by many states in the recent past by adding a number of exceptions
in order to protect employees from unfair dismissal.
Exceptions to the Rule
The exceptions to the employment at will rule are meant to protect workers from wrongful
termination of their employment. This is provided to all employees covered by the federal law,
state laws, CDAs, public policy and employment contracts among other situations. The following
are some of the major exceptions to the employment at will doctrine.
Public Policy
The majority of the jurisdictions in the U.S recognize the existence of certain public policy
guidelines that limits the application of employment at will. Examples of such

were fighting for the civil rights of African Americans in a country thought to have been based on

for what was right. They were brave enough to take on the weight of the responsibility and burdens

that these men wore in striving for the civil rights of African Americans. Both men were
ministers and also victims of assassination. They became famous around the same time but, they
believed in very different styles of going about how they planned on fighting for these rights.
King was a peaceful man. He didn t believe in violence, he hoped for a day where black and

The silence of the night was peaceful and calm until a shrill sound cut through the air. BEEP!

Alas, the cycle will inevitably repeat. Many Americans struggle with this problem and often do not

Fidel Castro Influence
Fidel Castro is one of most famous communist dictators that ruled Cuba from 1959 to 2008 and
made Cuba the first communist country in the Western hemisphere. Castro is most known for his
time in power where the relations between Cuba and the U.S. were completely severed, which
caused a complete trade embargo between the two countries and almost resulted in nuclear war
during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Some scholars believe that Castro always sought out good
relations with the U.S, but it was through U.S. aggression that Castro was radicalized into
communism and allied with the Soviet Union whereas the other position held by scholars believe
that Castro always planned to sever relations with the U.S. in order to nationalize the Cuban

believed that the people of the revolution were the workers and peasants that were exploited by
the United States. Also, in Castro s speech History Will Absolve Me, Castro already developed

For this assignment, I will focus on the issue of chronic illnesses when it comes to growing
older. I will look at dementia specifically, as a type of illness that affects majority of the elderly
population in the world we live in. The population is ageing and people are living longer than
before hence new diseases affecting the older generation are settling in.
The WHO (World Health Organization) says that Dementia should be considered a part of the
public health agenda in all countries (WHO, 2010)
What is Dementia?

The global impact of dementia costs
The cost of dementia worldwide is greater than costs of cancer and heart disease combined together
and this cost is expected to rise as the number of people with the disease is rising. The worldwide
cost of dementia is estimated at US$604 billion while in Europe it is estimated at €160billion
(Wimo et al., 2011).
The United Global Declarations sees dementia as an important cause of morbidity and also see the
need to provide equitable access to effective programmes and health care interventions (UN, 2011)
Policy Response to Dementia in Ireland
The policy response available in Ireland for people with dementia currently is to try and encourage
them to live in their own homes for as long as possible (The Years Ahead, 1988). In order for them
to live in their own homes, the government must take into consideration the following:
The extent of his/her illness (independent? Able to move around? Requires help)

McDonald s Faces Millennial Challenge by: Julie Jargon

McDonald s says new items like its McWrap sandwiches chicken and vegetables rolled in tortillas

company also is trying to enhance its credibility with young customers by marketing more on

The millennial generation has a wider range of choices than any generation before them,

Edward Abbey And Wasteland And An Elegy
Kindred and Coexisting
As humans began to develop, the need to expand increased. Some of this increase causes nature to
be destroyed on the very foundation in which the new buildings and complexes are built. In the
two pieces of writing, The Serpents of Paradise by Edward Abbey and Wasteland: An Elegy by
Mary Oliver, the authors examine their own personal experiences with nature. In order to show that
humans should respect and are connected to nature, the authors narrate their story in first person,
but choose different approaches to aspects such as tone and the use of pathos.
In The Serpents of Paradise, Edward Abbey uses a subtle and relaxed tone until the end of the

to be scary can be friend and not foe. By releasing a snake in his house, the author portrays the
narrator s trusting view of nature. Edward Abbey also touches on pathos by creating a sense of
fulfillment, even though the snake who the author has become so accustomed to has left. The
snakes leave for second time and it says, I will not see the gopher snakes again. Nevertheless, I
will feel their presence watching over me like totemic deities (Abbey). The author causes the

from a relaxed tone to one of judgement of others when it says, I suggest, however, that it s a
foolish, simple minded rationalism which denies any form of emotion to all animals but man and

life by saying that We are obliged, therefore, to spread the news, painful and bitter as it may be for

I think 3M some weaknesses in managing, as it is a conglomerate company. Conglomerate
companies are harder to manage than enterprises that focus on a single area of business, having
some other product lines that cooperate with that main area.
Another weakness is that the company is not well adapted to change in currency exchange rates.
L.D. DeSimone, chairman and chief executive officer of the company, said: We have a strong
presence in Japan and Asia, and our businesses continue to be affected by the economic contractions
in that area. DeSimone also mentioned that currency, at current exchange rates, will reduce full year
earnings by an estimated 10 percent.
Of course, the weakness of the company is the source of its largest costs. 3M has rather high
selling, general and administrative expenses. Additionally, they have increased in 2004 under the
negative impact by currency translation, also influenced by increase in advertising and
merchandising expenditures, supporting 3M s brand portfolio.
3M Company is rather weak at performing successfully in the stock market. NYSE informs that the
company increased guidance for its fiscal year, but this accomplishment was too small and failed to
satisfy the Street. It resulted in downing the stock in early trading for more than 4%. In general,
company s shares have perspective for growth in future, but not at present.
There are some opportunities that 3M can use in order to improve its position.

defects. The membrane induce osteogenic cell population coming from the parent bone tissue by
excluding the non osteogenic cell population from the surrounding soft tissues, thereby inhibit the
osseous wound (173 176). Actually, the placement of mechanical membranes over the jaw bone
defects resulted in effective results in rabbits (177) and over cranial defects in rats (178).
Therefore, guided bone regeneration (GBR) was introduced as a therapeutic modality aiming to
achieve bone regeneration, via the use of barrier membranes (87).
The introduction of biodegradable membranes limits the drawback of non resorbable one but also
the use of traditional biodegradable plates and screws have some disadvantages including poor
mechanical stability, difficulty handling properties, and time consuming fixation. So the
introduction of PDLLA (poly L, D lactic acid) copolymers had been developed to resolve these

The Wicked Witch and Snow White Essay
The Wicked Witch and Snow White
Edith Wharton presents two memorable characters in her novel, Ethan Frome. The reader is
presented with Mattie Silver who is young, and good natured, and Zeena Frome, who is a bitter
hypochondriac seven years her husband s senior. Upon a first inspection, Zeena Frome and Mattie
Silver of Edith Wharton s Ethan Frome seem to be extreme opposites in every respect, but upon
closer scrutiny, one finds though they are indeed different in character, though they eventually
share great similarities. Zeena and Mattie s differences in appearance and character, but similarity
of fate, all contribute to the theme of the novel which is that one cannot escape the social class one
is born in.

Within the first five chapters, Edith Wharton establishes the stark physical differences between
young, gay Mattie Silver and unattractive, gloomy Zeena Frome.
Mattie and Zeena differ in character as much as they differ in appearance. A great hobby of
Zenna s was to find faults with others, though her fault finding was of the silent kind, but not the
less penetrating for that. Zeena also had an obstinate silence that frightened Mattie as well as
her husband. Ethan s wife was also a great cause of irritation for him: When she spoke, it was
only to complain, and to complain of things not in his power to remedy. Of late... her silence had
begun to trouble him... and wondered if Zeena was turning queer. At other times her silence
seemed deliberately assumed to conceal far reaching intentions, mysterious conclusions drawn
from suspicions and resentments impossible to guess. Zeen was a woman turned bitter by too
much strife and too little reward. The location of the farm isolated her from her neighbors, so she
rarely could socialize with others. Having nothing better to do, Zeena gives her own health
fanatical attention. She is occupied constantly with new pills, stomach powders and books on
diseases of the liver. Mattie Silver, however, was still young and full of hope and joy. Her small lot
of suffering had just enough to give her a sense of appreciation

Howl The Loud Mournful Cry Of The Beat Generation Poem...
The very title is quite explicit: howl, the loud, mournful cry of the wild beast. Published in (1956)
by Allen Ginsberg (1926 1997), this poem might certainly be one of the best known examples of the
Beat Generation literature. Not only does it express all the symptomatic behaviours of this counter
culture movement, but also it gives us a fascinating insight into the various Beat Generations artists
minds and experiences at least, as reported by Allen Ginsberg. How does the author manage to
translate the feeling of otherness and anxious protestations of an entire generation of artists ? We
will first analyse the form of expression and identity of the individual described in the poem before
focusing on the use of non conforming behaviour... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The true message of the poem is complex, and does let the reader perplex on whether Ginsberg
was trying to incense or deplore these individual s state. But is it truly such a dark, depressing
work of art ? The Hippie movement that the Beat Generation inspired was after all a movement of
peace and hope. Ginsberg does admit that he and Salomon share the same invisible humor (Part III,
l.9) , and the words and expression used in the poem might aim to exaggerate the absurdity of a
situation, not only to highlight the contrast between them and the rest of the world, but also to
make the reader laugh and the audience did laugh during Ginsberg s first reading. But perhaps the
irony is even deeper than that, and Ginsberg jokes not at the expense of their own absurd behaviour,
but on the mainstream people s ignorance on what normality should

Biblical Truths Of The Christian Bible
1)PREFACE
I) We unequivocally acknowledge the Christian Bible as the inspired written Word of the living
God given to humanity by way of dual authorship human and Divine for the purpose of revealing
God the Father and His will for humankind; therefore comprehending the Godly priority and
importance of knowing and obeying its truths; we are passionately committed to teaching Scripture
in truth with clarity and do diligence under the anointing and the illuminating light of the Holy
Spirit with the divine authority of the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior
II) Furthermore, we are fully convinced that our Divine calling mission and central goal of the
body of Christ and to all who have ears to hear is the continual in parting of Biblical truths.
Henceforth when the Word of God is preached in expository fashion and systematically taught in
line with sound doctrine to the children of God, the servants of Christ become fully equipped with
the truth of Scripture that is mature in sound doctrine; thus, not deceived and tossed to and fro by
the wiles of the devil through the cunning craftiness of his demonic ministers who twist the plain
truth about Scripture by teaching the false doctrines of demons therefore by the consistent teaching
of Biblical truth the servants of God will become thoroughly equipped to do the work of the
ministry, thus manifesting the fruit of the Spirit and the supernatural gifts of the Holy Ghost;
whereby glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ, by exalting his death,

Essay On The Superbug Challenge
With emerging technology, online learning is becoming progressively more popular. Cope and
Kalantzis (2010) emphasise how technology has transformed pedagogy in learning environments.
Learning is becoming increasingly ubiquitous and students are being encouraged to be a part of
many online learning modules. The program I undertook was smart science module known as The
Superbug Challenge . This module s intention was to teach students on how to develop science
inquiry skills.
Science inquiry skills means that scientific practices are established. Some of these practices
include: asking questions, creating and carrying out investigations, analysing and interpreting data
and constructing explanations that show a conceptual understating of ... Show more content on

This could have been achieved in a number of ways. Not all students building their bacteria go
down the same pathway to kill the host. Students could use different ways to test out their
hypothesis, essentially demonstrating critical scientific inquiry skills (Wilcox, 2015) such as
gathering relevant data to test the hypothesis chosen.
The way I chose to kill the host was to use prior knowledge and knowledge built up from the
previous modules to gather as much information to allow me to predict the result of the hypothesis.
The students learn about antibiotic resistance, natural selection and a real life application example.
There are questions following the content. The hypothesis reads: If bacteria survive one application
of an antibiotic then it will survive another application of the same antibiotic. The bacteria
illustrated below (figure 1) identifies the characteristics chosen from the acquisition of knowledge
from the modules prior to this screen. For example, I added phagocyte slowing and killer toxin and
a trait that improves the environment by hurting the host. These traits were added as prior
knowledge and information from the modules contributed to choosing these. This is what the
students will end up creating after learning about the most favorable characteristics the superbug
needs. They can then view the data and see how many times the bacteria survive an application of
antibiotics (Figure 2). Students can also compare how mutated bacteria go against each other
(Figure 3) teaching them how to analyse and interpret data from their observations. For example,
the red line shows it was the most resistant to the antibiotic, lasting the longest. The next three

St. John Chrysostom s Homily
Sermons on Christmas morning focus on the birth of a baby wrapped in swaddling cloth laid in a
manger in ancient Bethlehem, such sermons proclaim the wonders of the Nativity. However, such
sermons do more than just communicate the joy of our Savior s birth, for this celebration, as
exemplified in St. John Chrysostom s homily, is an ideal setting to address the question of who is
Christ . There are many themes and topics in Chrysostom s Christmas morning sermon and through
his speaking of JesusChrist s birth, the Incarnation, he addresses heresies, enumerates Christian
doctrine, and announces various elements of Christology. Chrysostom opens his sermons
rejoicing over the salvific moment of Christmas and makes known how Christmas is a merciful
gift and expression of true humility by God (110). Such an importance of the grace of this
moment is also found in the writings of St. Leo the Great and St. Augustine as they both affirm
this is an act of generosity not failure or necessity by God. This is important to redemption and
to Christology because it shows how Christ was not obligated to save humanity but did so out of
love of Creation. With this gift makes it salvation possible, for without the Word s free
participation our unpayable debt could not be satisfied as St. Augustine explains. While His
incarnational gift allowed Christ to the Savior and Mediator by costing the Son of God to suffer
and die on the Cross, this gift did not cause Him to be departed from the

Biblical And Gilgamesh Flood Comparison
Flood Gates
There are many different reasons things occur. Comparing the Biblical flood to the Ancient
Mesopotamian flood is one of those strange things that occurred. The Biblical flood was to destroy
humankind because of their sinful ways. Mesopotamian flood was used to punish mankind for their
actions. The two floods came from two different historic timing. The two floods have several
similarities and differences.
The Biblical and Gilgamesh flood have several things they have in common. The hero s characters
in each story were righteous men. Noah represents a church. Noah and his family had spiritual
beliefs and practices. Noah and his family listen to God. In both floods, God is punishing rebellious
mankind. In the book of Genesis, God flood the earth because of humankind sinful ways. God
instructed Noah, 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had
corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, I am going to put an end to all people, for the
earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the
earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside
and out. (Genesis 6:9 12 14) Noah built an ark for him and his family would be saved from the
flood. Utnapishtim name meant finder of life. With the Gilgamesh flood, god Enlil told

behavior of consumers because of the capitalistic qualities of corporations has transitioned that
terminology onto consumers in modern society. New Slaves exposes the consumer culture

The Extent Of Personal Responsibility
The Extent of Personal Responsibility Taking place in two hemispheres from one another, the
plot to Khaled Hosseini s Kite Runner and Phillip Roth s Nemesis have few common elements
to observe if one were to look strictly at the plot. However, looking deeper reveals that both
novels have startlingly similar elements and themes; ranging from fear, to a rejection of god. The
most significant theme in both of these novels is the concept of personal responsibility a concept
that defines Amir and Bucky and drives the way they act, in addition to influencing the plot of
each novel. Starting with protagonist Amir in Kite Runner, the pivotal point of responsibility is
first introduced when Hassan is raped by Assef following the conclusion of the kite runner
tournament that Amir won. This moment is the single most significant moment in the entire
novel: I stopped watching, turned away from the alley (67). This quote establishes the theme of
personal responsibility, and this very event would go on to define Amir throughout the entirety of
the novel, as Amir would go on to decades later to state: We had both betrayed the people who
would have given their lives for us (197). Another point is established with this, that being the
question of how far claiming responsibility go before being considered unreasonable? Looking at
this particular scene, one has to wonder, what could have Amir have been able to do in this
situation? While fleeing the scene is debated as a lack of

Importance Of Formative Assessment
3.1Discussion
To understand better the achievements of this research we find it important to refresh our mind
with what we know about formative assessment and summative assessment. Gipps (1994) defines
formative assessment as the assessment that boosts the use of assessing feedback to advance
teaching and learning while encouraging curriculum planning. As for summative assessment, Earl,
L. (2004), defines it as the assessment which is frequently used to give grades and marks to
learners for academic and administrative decisions .

It is also what the trainer does for the present learners to have the expected behavior! Formative
assessment gives room to corrections, training adaptation in order to meet the learners needs. How
do we explain the trainers failure to exploit what looks like a formative assessment? Is it not a
proof of trainers ignorance of assessment rules?
Certainly, it was not wrong to use the information deriving from the current training for further
improvements, but improvements, if any, should start with the present participants. Indeed, we did
not find it too professional to ignore the present learners by failing to give them a feedback on their
learning, but rather using their feedback for the benefit of future learners. Black, P. William (1999)
insists on the fact that summative assessment implies the provision of effective feedback to
learners, the active involvement of learners in their own learning, the adjustment of teaching to take
assessment results into account. What was hidden behind this non exploitation of formative
assessment? Was it not a mark of ignorance in the use of formative assessment?
Conclusion:
To end completely with this point, for us formative assessment should be fully used throughout the
whole training session in order to remedy possible weaknesses and insufficiencies of the training.

Physical education is a fundamental component of the Australian curriculum that maintains an
underlying goal of providing the knowledge and skills to students to allow them to live healthy and
productive lives. However, the beginning of physical education in its purest form can be traced
back to a time when human society was in its infancy, when the discipline would have been
exhibited mainly through necessary survival skills including hunting and spear throwing along with
combat skills involving wrestling and swordsmanship (Lumpkin, 2004). The ancient Greeks
bestowed great honour and prestige upon those who possessed athletic perfection through the
emphasis on the anatomy of an individual and their balanced life. This was coupled with the
Olympic Games that were used to adjudicate athletic perfection amongst many individuals. It was

My Salsa Class
Something that I noticed during the class was that no matter if it was your first time taking a
salsa class or your 10th time everyone was so supportive. It reminded me of how everyone treats
each other in the dance department. So, it was very refreshing, to see how supportive everyone
was no matter the number of classes you took or your age. It was just refreshing to see how fun
the class was and I personally never wanted to stop dancing. I think the most important aspect that
I would want to tell a friend was when the instructor assigned us all partners. It turned out that my
partner was an old friend that I went to middle school with who was in there to learn a few steps
for his cousins wedding that was coming up. My favorite part

The Motif of Poverty Throughout Crime and Punishment by...
Poverty is an essential motif in Crime and Punishment that enables characters to expose their
isolation from society. Raskolnikov demonstrates the true effect that poverty can have on an
unemployed man in the 1860s. Razumikhin is seen as Raskolnikov s foil character that reacts to
his form of poverty in the opposite way of Raskolnikov towards society. The weight of being
desperately pour effects Marmeledov to extensive lengths that ultimately ends in his death.
Crime and Punishment revolves around Raskolnikov and his amplifying guilt after he murders the
pawnbroker, Alyona. From the beginning of the novel his poverty is displayed in his living
condition, which is further described by the yellowish dusty wall paper peeling off the ... Show

It shall not be, so long as I am alive, it shall not, it shall not! I won t accept it! (Part 1. 4.).
Raskolnikov begins to alienate himself from his ex colleague, Razumikhin, although at points it is
Razumikhin who supports Raskolnikov the most. It forces Razumikhin to replace Raskolnikov in
situations that should have been left to his authority. In a situation where Raskolnikov should have
reassured Dounia and Pulcheria of their safety he waved his hand weakly to Razumikhin to cut
short the flow of warm and incoherent consolations he was addressing to his mother and sister
(Part 3. 1). As Raskolnikov began to slowly move away from any form of comfortable socialization
and a growing poverty situation, his stubbornness to contain his pride and dignity eventually builds
up to the brutal murder of Alyona.
Razumikhin is in a similar financial situation as Raskolnikov. Razumikhin foils Raskolnikov in his
response to a desperate situation such as struggling poverty. He faced his struggles with a trial and
error personality. His view stood that you never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes
and very likely a hundred and fourteen (Part 3. 1). It was in these positive outlooks that make
Raskolnikov realize how intense his isolation was becoming.

  • 3. Essay On Moment Of Self Discovery My moment of self discovery was a coincidence. It was August 13th and it occurred right after my shift was over in Burger King. It started when I was going to Liberty bell gas station to hang out with my friends Julia and Deanne. They were two liberty bell regulars because they always bought cigarettes or loosies from liberty and they were pretty hard to miss. Julia was pale and had green hair but a green that resembled the statue of liberty. I met her through Deanne around January of 2017 and I liked how easy going she was. Deanne, on the other hand, was a brunette with a blonde highlight in the front of her hair. I met Deanne through her ex boyfriend Aj, who was also a close friend. Deanne was from the suburbs and she moved to Philadelphiain August of 2016. I resided in philadelphia for 8 years and I hated how everyone is connected to each other there. I did quite a good job removing my ties from people I didn t want to be connected to. The day I had my moment of self discovery I ran into a few people I cut ties with. • 4. Essay about What Really Happened During the First... There can be countless records of the same event, and while many times each record is different, there are also incidents in which one needs to know every record to piece together what really happened. The story of the first Thanksgiving takes place in 1621, and is generally known as a meal that was shared between the Pilgrims and the Indians. For the Pilgrims, this was a harvest festival, much like one they would have had in England. For the Indians, it was a show of hospitality from the Pilgrims, similar to what they would expect from visiting another Indian tribe. With being told only that, one can already see that there are already two very different histories of the same event recorded. Of greater interest, perhaps, are the different... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The History Channel s Desperate Crossing tells the story of the Pilgrims, their journey to Plymouth, their horrible first year, and finally, the first Thanksgiving. Desperate Crossing follows the accounts of both Winslow and Bradford fairly well, but begins to deviate slightly. They show that the Pilgrims and Indians played games, drank, and raced, and competed together, some of which are only vaguely and briefly alluded to by Winslow, and never by Bradford. The History Channel also shows a much more tense situation than the impression given from Bradford and Winslow. According to the History Channel, everything from Massasoitshowing up with his ninety some men and the Pilgrims firing their arms is all a display of strength from both sides. The History Channel obviously takes some liberties in their presentation of history. Winslow and Bradford do not mention anything about the clothing worn, if there was any drinking involved, if there was silverware, where the feasts were held, and many other seemingly trivial details. Desperate Crossing makes some assumptions on what took place in 1621, but it does quote both Winslow and Bradford word for word. While we re shown a picture that may or may not actually represent what took place at the first Thanksgiving, at the very least, we re given Winslow s and Bradford s descriptions of it. The History Channel used what was already known from the eye witness accounts combined with what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Twenty years of uncontrolled economic development have created serious, chronic air and water pollution. In order to support China s growing population, the country has drastically increased its usage of fertilizers and pesticides in the agricultural sector. China consumes around a third of global fertilizers, with rapid growth in use in recent years, driven largely by higher fruit and vegetable production. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides threatens both public health and agricultural productivity. Many farmers choose to use chemicals to keep weeds and pests from destroying their crops while adding more nutrients to the soil. Yet such benefits do not come without environmental costsnamely the pesticide pollution of China s streams, rivers, lakes, and even coastal areas, as these toxic chemicals runoff into nearby waterways, contaminating the food, drinking water causing massive health problems. While fertilizers and pesticides, as stated above, provide economic benefits for the farmers in terms of increasing yields; but also provide adverse impacts. These impacts on the environment are called negative externalities. According to researchers, not many measures are being taken in order to enforce safe, organic, and healthy fertilization. Employment At The United States Employment at will Employment at will is a common law that governs work relationships in most states in the U.S. The rule states that if an employee is contracted by an employer for an indefinite period of time then the contract can be terminated by either the employee or the employer at any time and for any given reason unless there is another law in places that guide otherwise. This simply implies that if an employee is hired under the at will law then the employer can fire the employee for any reason at any time without prior warning or communication. An employee, on the other hand, may decide to leave the job at any time without reason or prior warning. The At will employment became part of the common laws for employment in the United States in the late 19th century. However, it has been modified by many states in the recent past by adding a number of exceptions in order to protect employees from unfair dismissal. Exceptions to the Rule The exceptions to the employment at will rule are meant to protect workers from wrongful termination of their employment. This is provided to all employees covered by the federal law, state laws, CDAs, public policy and employment contracts among other situations. Bone has been considered as the one tissue with the greatest potential for regeneration among the many tissue in the body. A long time ago in 1889 senn reported that the present of decalcified bonecould encourage healing of the bone defects (170). Guided bone regeneration is frequently used the same concept for hard tissue reconstruction (128, 171, 172). The treatment concept includes the application of occlusive membranes for the regeneration of osseous defects. The membrane induce osteogenic cell population coming from the parent bone tissue by excluding the non osteogenic cell population from the surrounding soft tissues, thereby inhibit the osseous wound (173 176). Actually, the placement of mechanical membranes over the jaw bone defects resulted in effective results in rabbits (177) and over cranial defects in rats (178). Therefore, guided bone regeneration (GBR) was introduced as a therapeutic modality aiming to achieve bone regeneration, via the use of barrier membranes (87). The introduction of biodegradable membranes limits the drawback of non resorbable one but also the use of traditional biodegradable plates and screws have some disadvantages including poor mechanical stability, difficulty handling properties, and time consuming fixation. • 25. Howl The Loud Mournful Cry Of The Beat Generation Poem... The very title is quite explicit: howl, the loud, mournful cry of the wild beast. Published in (1956) by Allen Ginsberg (1926 1997), this poem might certainly be one of the best known examples of the Beat Generation literature. Not only does it express all the symptomatic behaviours of this counter culture movement, but also it gives us a fascinating insight into the various Beat Generations artists minds and experiences at least, as reported by Allen Ginsberg. How does the author manage to translate the feeling of otherness and anxious protestations of an entire generation of artists ? We will first analyse the form of expression and identity of the individual described in the poem before focusing on the use of non conforming behaviour... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The true message of the poem is complex, and does let the reader perplex on whether Ginsberg was trying to incense or deplore these individual s state. But is it truly such a dark, depressing work of art ? The Hippie movement that the Beat Generation inspired was after all a movement of peace and hope. Ginsberg does admit that he and Salomon share the same invisible humor (Part III, l.9) , and the words and expression used in the poem might aim to exaggerate the absurdity of a situation, not only to highlight the contrast between them and the rest of the world, but also to make the reader laugh and the audience did laugh during Ginsberg s first reading. But perhaps the irony is even deeper than that, and Ginsberg jokes not at the expense of their own absurd behaviour, but on the mainstream people s ignorance on what normality should ... Biblical Truths Of The Christian Bible 1)PREFACE I) We unequivocally acknowledge the Christian Bible as the inspired written Word of the living God given to humanity by way of dual authorship human and Divine for the purpose of revealing God the Father and His will for humankind; therefore comprehending the Godly priority and importance of knowing and obeying its truths; we are passionately committed to teaching Scripture in truth with clarity and do diligence under the anointing and the illuminating light of the Holy Spirit with the divine authority of the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior II) Furthermore, we are fully convinced that our Divine calling mission and central goal of the body of Christ and to all who have ears to hear is the continual in parting of Biblical truths. Henceforth when the Word of God is preached in expository fashion and systematically taught in line with sound doctrine to the children of God, the servants of Christ become fully equipped with the truth of Scripture that is mature in sound doctrine; thus, not deceived and tossed to and fro by the wiles of the devil through the cunning craftiness of his demonic ministers who twist the plain truth about Scripture by teaching the false doctrines of demons therefore by the consistent teaching of Biblical truth the servants of God will become thoroughly equipped to do the work of the ministry, thus manifesting the fruit of the Spirit and the supernatural gifts of the Holy Ghost; whereby glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ, by exalting his death, ... Cope and Kalantzis (2010) emphasise how technology has transformed pedagogy in learning environments. The program I undertook was smart science module known as The Superbug Challenge . This module s intention was to teach students on how to develop science inquiry skills. Students could use different ways to test out their hypothesis, essentially demonstrating critical scientific inquiry skills (Wilcox, 2015) such as gathering relevant data to test the hypothesis chosen. The way I chose to kill the host was to use prior knowledge and knowledge built up from the previous modules to gather as much information to allow me to predict the result of the hypothesis. The students learn about antibiotic resistance, natural selection and a real life application example. There are questions following the content. The hypothesis reads: If bacteria survive one application of an antibiotic then it will survive another application of the same antibiotic. The bacteria illustrated below (figure 1) identifies the characteristics chosen from the acquisition of knowledge from the modules prior to this screen. For example, I added phagocyte slowing and killer toxin and a trait that improves the environment by hurting the host. These traits were added as prior knowledge and information from the modules contributed to choosing these. This is what the students will end up creating after learning about the most favorable characteristics the superbug needs. They can then view the data and see how many times the bacteria survive an application of antibiotics (Figure 2). • 28. St. John Chrysostom s Homily Sermons on Christmas morning focus on the birth of a baby wrapped in swaddling cloth laid in a manger in ancient Bethlehem, such sermons proclaim the wonders of the Nativity. However, such sermons do more than just communicate the joy of our Savior s birth, for this celebration, as exemplified in St. John Chrysostom s homily, is an ideal setting to address the question of who is Christ . There are many themes and topics in Chrysostom s Christmas morning sermon and through his speaking of JesusChrist s birth, the Incarnation, he addresses heresies, enumerates Christian doctrine, and announces various elements of Christology. Chrysostom opens his sermons rejoicing over the salvific moment of Christmas and makes known how Christmas is a merciful gift and expression of true humility by God (110). Such an importance of the grace of this moment is also found in the writings of St. Leo the Great and St. Augustine as they both affirm this is an act of generosity not failure or necessity by God. This is important to redemption and to Christology because it shows how Christ was not obligated to save humanity but did so out of love of Creation. With this gift makes it salvation possible, for without the Word s free participation our unpayable debt could not be satisfied as St. Augustine explains. While His incarnational gift allowed Christ to the Savior and Mediator by costing the Son of God to suffer and die on the Cross, this gift did not cause Him to be departed from the ... The Extent Of Personal Responsibility The Extent of Personal Responsibility Taking place in two hemispheres from one another, the plot to Khaled Hosseini s Kite Runner and Phillip Roth s Nemesis have few common elements to observe if one were to look strictly at the plot. However, looking deeper reveals that both novels have startlingly similar elements and themes; ranging from fear, to a rejection of god. The most significant theme in both of these novels is the concept of personal responsibility a concept that defines Amir and Bucky and drives the way they act, in addition to influencing the plot of each novel. Starting with protagonist Amir in Kite Runner, the pivotal point of responsibility is first introduced when Hassan is raped by Assef following the conclusion of the kite runner tournament that Amir won. This moment is the single most significant moment in the entire novel: I stopped watching, turned away from the alley (67). This quote establishes the theme of personal responsibility, and this very event would go on to define Amir throughout the entirety of the novel, as Amir would go on to decades later to state: We had both betrayed the people who would have given their lives for us (197). Another point is established with this, that being the question of how far claiming responsibility go before being considered unreasonable? Importance Of Formative Assessment 3.1Discussion To understand better the achievements of this research we find it important to refresh our mind with what we know about formative assessment and summative assessment. Gipps (1994) defines formative assessment as the assessment that boosts the use of assessing feedback to advance teaching and learning while encouraging curriculum planning. As for summative assessment, Earl, L. (2004), defines it as the assessment which is frequently used to give grades and marks to learners for academic and administrative decisions . 3.1.1 From Assumption 1 to 3: To come back to the achievements of this research, hypothesis 1 revealed that the trainers under study do assess their learners in order to identify what they have learnt, ... Certainly, it was not wrong to use the information deriving from the current training for further improvements, but improvements, if any, should start with the present participants. Indeed, we did not find it too professional to ignore the present learners by failing to give them a feedback on their learning, but rather using their feedback for the benefit of future learners. Black, P. What was hidden behind this non exploitation of formative assessment? Was it not a mark of ignorance in the use of formative assessment?
