Definition Essay
Writing a definition essay may initially seem deceptively simple, as it revolves around defining a
particular concept or term. However, the difficulty lies in crafting a comprehensive and nuanced
exploration of the chosen subject. First and foremost, selecting an appropriate topic is crucial; it
should be broad enough to allow for in-depth analysis, yet specific enough to avoid vagueness.
The process involves meticulous research to gain a profound understanding of the term or
concept. This necessitates exploring various sources, from academic articles to everyday usage,
in order to provide a well-rounded and accurate definition. Striking a balance between formal
definitions and real-world applications adds complexity to the task.
Structuring the essay also poses a challenge. While adhering to the conventional introduction,
body, and conclusion framework, organizing the content in a logical sequence is essential. Each
paragraph should contribute to the overall understanding and support the main thesis.
Additionally, defining a term involves not only providing a meaning but also delving into its
historical context, evolution, and potential controversies.
Achieving clarity is another hurdle. The language used must be precise, avoiding ambiguity and
ensuring that readers can grasp the intended meaning effortlessly. Striking this balance requires
careful consideration of the audience's knowledge level and familiarity with the subject.
Moreover, conveying a personal perspective while maintaining objectivity adds an extra layer of
difficulty. The essay should reflect critical thinking, presenting an informed opinion without
becoming overly subjective or biased.
In conclusion, writing a definition essay involves navigating various challenges, from selecting
the right topic to crafting a well-structured and clear narrative. The intricate dance between
objectivity and personal insight requires finesse, making the process both demanding and
intellectually stimulating.

Magical Realism In The Transformation Of Gregor By Kalfa
Kalfa uses magical realism in the transformation of Gregor from a human to a bug.
By his transformation, we see clearly how unreasonable things occurring for no
reason. In addition, Magic realism is a fictional technique that combines fantasy
with raw, physical or social reality in a search for truth beyond that available from
the surface of everyday life. A magical element that is set to know is that Gregor
gives sacrifice and unconditional devotion for the love of his family even though
they treat him so badly when he becomes a bug they forget all about him and feel
disgust towards hm. Therefore, becomes an object of disgrace to his entire family
and within outsider in his own home which brings him to be isolated from everyone

(Page 1.7) . For example, Gregor has now transform the voice and language of a
bug and no longer one of a human which creates magical realism in this part of the
story Gregor feels now split between his bug side and human side. Furthermore, He
especially liked hanging from the ceiling; it was completely different from lying on
the floor; one could breathe more freely; a faint swinging sensation went through the
body; and in the almost happy absent mindedness which Gregor felt up there, it
could happen to his own surprise that he let go and plopped onto the floor (2.20) .
For example, this shows the aspect of the magical realism that is happening when
Gregor is hanging of the ceiling which can be supernatural because one as human can
not do that kind movement
Gogol s Relationships In The Namesake
Gogol s relationships in The Namesake A namesake is someone or something that
has the same name as another person or thing. In the book The Namesake, Gogol
was named after a Russian author, Nikolai Gogol. His father had been reading a
book by him one day while he was on a train in between the two cities Calcutta and
Jamshedpur. In the middle of the night the train crashed and the rescuers found him
because of the book pages he had left in his hand. Ashoke claimed that the book
saved his life. After he recovers from his train injuries, he and his wife Ashima move
to America. Ashima, who gets pregnant, has her baby in an American hospital,
beginning their Bengali family. Thus, his first child was named Gogol. Although

In India, children are given two names: your good name and your pet name. While
in Calcutta, where his father, Ashoke, and mother, Ashima, could have waited
years to decide on an official name, in America they only had days. They waited in
the hospital for a letter from Ashima s grandmother containing a name but
eventually they were forced to chose one. As Gogol got older he began to realize
that his name was different and made him stand out. He began to hate his name
and himself as well. His name was supposed to be more than just a title for him, it
was supposed to be who he was. When he became interested in girls, he decided that
Gogol was not an acceptable name so he began introducing himself as Nikhil, the
name his parents intended people outside of the family to call him. This is the

Threat of Hackers on the Internet Essay
Research Critique The ability of the attackers to rapidly gain control of vast number
of Internet hosts poses an immense threat to the overall security of the Internet
(Staniford, Paxson Weaver, 2002). Once compromised, these hosts can not only be
used for massive Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, but also steal or
corrupt great quantities of sensitive information by confusing and disrupting the
network in more subtle ways (Honeynet, 2005). The attackers accomplish this task
by sending an intrusion agent commonly known as В‘worm . There are two major
types of malicious codes in the wild (Todd, 2003, pp. 2). These codes are
differentiated by their means of propagation: worms are self replicating, self
propagating,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First article that discussed self replicating code within a C compiler appeared in
1984 by Thompson. Morris worm was launched in 1988, which had a devastating
effect on the Internet (Todd, 2003). Most research conducted so far has focused on
modeling and detection of the Internet worm propagation. However, the final
objective of the research is containment and elimination of these worms, which has
not received enough research (Zheng Duan). This paper discusses the possible
future network attack which will probably use an organized army of malicious
nodes called malnets. These malnets are capable of delivering many different types
of attacks. According to several researchers who are working on finding out how the
malicious worms propagate on the internet the ground has already been set
(Honeynet, 2005; Zheng Duan; Geer, 2005; Staniford, Paxson Weaver, 2002).
However, partly due to the lack of understanding of the resiliency and efficiency a
malnet can have, countering malnets has been ineffective (Li, Ehrenkranz Kuenning,
2005). Placement of the article in the literature The paper is very recent and
appeared in 2005. Since the paper has an interesting and unique topic both in security
of the Internet and how distributed systems of malicious bots work it can be

Rhetorical Analysis Of Todd Hill
Introduction
Public speaking is not for the faint of heart, it is a nerve wracking experience full of
anxiety and fear of public judgment. These are some common thoughts among
students enrolled in RCM 401 Oral Rhetoric. With the application of theory,
continued practice, and constructive feedback from peers, these opinions are likely to
change as they increase their knowledge of oral rhetoric and look for ways to sharpen
their public speaking skills. Todd Thorn is a strong example of a peer of oral
rhetoric that has worked on improving his public speaking through the application of
theory and constructive feedback from fellow peers. The following is an analysis of
Todd s improvement over the 2018 Winter Semester in RCM 401. The analysis...

Poetry Explication First Poem for You by Kim Addonizio...
Poetry Explication Just as poetry is a permanent mark of feelings that last forever
on paper, tattoos are permanent symbols that last forever on the skin. Tattoos and
poetry can easily be combined such as in Kim Addonizio s sonnet, First Poem for
You, the speaker admires her partner s nature themed tattoos in a darkened room.
This may seem to be a simple poem, but by utilizing tattoos as symbols, including
tactile and visual imagery in her poem, and using the sonnetas her structure,
Addonizio laments about the true meaning of relationships and their longevity.
Symbols are used throughout Addonizio s sonnet. I like to touch your tattoos in
complete/darkness, when I can t see them (1 2). The darkness not only represents the

But by employing the word pulsing (4), the reader can really feel the lover s heart
beating on the speaker s hand. This addresses the fact that love has a pulse and it can
halt just as well as a heart can. Through visual and tactile imagery, Addonizio shows
how close intimately the lovers are with one another. Structure is important in First
Poem for You as well. Addonizio chose to write a sonnet to have the last lines truly
conclude the poem in a way that meditates on the permanence of the tattoos. The
author destroys the immediate, powerful, and concrete image of the lovers with such
permanence is terrifying. / So I touch them in the dark; but touch them, trying (13 14).
These lines represent the vague understanding of the future between the two partners.
It is unknown if the two will remain together or not and the last line leaves the reader
hanging. This creates a deep reality with the poem that can easily be connected with,
for the fate of a relationship is truly unknown. First Poem for You, by Kim Addonizio,
illustrates a night between two lovers lying next to each other. From this sonnet, it is
discovered that through symbolism, imagery, and structure, the speaker s views on
relationships are embellished.

Good Versus Evil, The Allies Versus The Axis, World War II
Good versus evil, the allies versus the axis, world war II was raging throughout
Europe, Africa, and Asia. Neither winning nor losing was guaranteed to either
side, so each wanted an ace up their sleeve. In fear of Germany acquiring a nuclear
bomb, the United States set up their own program, the Manhattan project, in order
to make one before the Nazis could. With the help of British and refugee scientists,
and a blank check of two billion dollars, now $32.5 billion, the Manhattan project
was born in 1942, and only three years later in 1945, the first atomic bomb was
tested in New Mexico. Ironically, by this time Germany had stopped trying to
make a nuclear bomb. Although the war was reaching its final hour, Japan showed
no intention to surrender, so in order to avoid a costly invasion, the United States
pulled out its ace and dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima and 3 days later, Fat Man
on Nagasaki . With the war having ended and the world having seen the grand awe
of a nuclear weapon, the enemy of my enemy is my friend mentality of the United
States and Soviet Union s alliance was no more, and the two superpowers were thrust
into the Cold War. Although the cold war caused death and despair, the arms race
between the United States and Soviet union had positive effects, therefore the cold
war had a positive effect on the world.
Despite the Cold War having no direct fighting between the U.S and the soviets, there
were still multiple costly indirect conflicts between the two

Other Uses For A Captain Cash Loan
There are times in life when a person discovers they can take advantage of a once in
a lifetime opportunity, only they don t have the money to do so. For example, their
favorite hockey player may be traded to a team in their division and will be playing
in a nearby town and they want to go see it. Unfortunately, they don t have enough
cash for the tickets. A Captain Cash loan can ensure they don t miss out.
Another individual may have an old school mate show up in town and they want to
go out for the evening. You won t be able to join them because payday isn t until
next week. Call on Captain Cash and enjoy the evening catching up. The funds can
be repaid with the upcoming paycheck, so you get the best of both worlds.Following

Essay On The Galapago Trip
Off the Beaten Path Galapagos trips are rare; the restrictions in place pretty much
rule them out. Any incursion into the Galapagos National Park is done with a
certified guide, boats are limited to stopping at each visitor site once in a fourteen day
period and the notion of setting off on your to parts unknown independently is
distinctly and absolutely frowned upon.
While being saddled with a guide and limitations that prohibit independent travel is
disconcerting to many, the advent of a new twist on an old tradition offers relief to
those is search of a trail blazing adventure.

This adventure led me to update a guidebook, manage a non profit travel club and
through a maze of places that didn t make the cut. Needless to say, my latest
discovery is worth its salt and deserving of the time it takes to finish this article.
Conventional wisdom about the Galapagos dictates that trips are taken on boats,
more islands are accessible in a limited amount of time. This way of thinking isn t
easily changed, but making a decision to take a land based trip just makes sense. Time
is spent getting to know the islands from a hands on perspective, seeing the
uninhabited destinations by day and spending the nights in the natural surroundings.
Adding a different element to the trip and bringing the environment to life.
Michael and Stephanie Mesdag realized this while on vacation. A trip into the
highlands of Santa Cruz led them to a farm for sale next to the National Park
border. The subsequent purchase made way for two years of camping on the
property while getting to know the islands culturally and planning an environmentally
friendly way to open up the Galapagos to a safari
Milk Biscuits, Breakfast Biscuits And Dependent Variable...
The children s inclination for the appearance or taste of four different brands of
chocolate biscuits, breakfast biscuits, and breadsticks is what needs to be
investigated. The accomplishment would be to determine the visual and taste
fondness of three gluten free commercial products. This study would help nurses
during patient teachings to make recommendations of gluten free products and it
would help nurses in the appearance of foods being served to patients. Kildegaard
et al. have presented that the way the food looks will define if the child will eat it
or not. Cooke Wardle found that girls select healthier foods than boys at all ages.
Thirty children ,22 females and 8 males, age range 6 12 years, with diagnosis of
celiac disease from more than 2 years were selected to do this study. The
independent variables are the four different brands of three gluten free products, and
the dependent variable is the high preference of appearance test. The children used
the 5 point hedonic facial scale to evaluate the different foods. The visual tests always
showed higher scores in the 5 point scale than the taste liking rating. The taste test
showed that children s anticipations were lower than expected. It is important to
make the food given to patients have a nice appearance so they can at least try the
food and not reject it without tasting it first. A limitation is that the children must ve
been diagnosed within two years with celiac disease. Manufacturing companies
The Issue Of Pay Equality
Lilly Ledbetter wasn t lazy; she and all women just want equal pay Rebuttal
The issue of pay equality between genders has always been an important topic. For
some reason many people believe that women are still unfairly paid less than men.
The common statistic, now popular belief, is that women get paid seventy seven
cents for every dollar a man makes. Though this statistic seems real it was no more
than a false statistic used to help politicians get votes. The truth is, if the math was
done the correct way, then this statistic would be significantly smaller than we
originally thought.
When comparing job salaries between workers you would first need to compare the
average income between the two sexes. The statistic used (seventy seven cents) is a
median value for women. The reason why this information would be wrong is
because this compares all ranges of salaries; the amount of people involved, and
finds the middle value in the list. This method is incorrect for two reasons in
particular. First of all, the salaries of all workers of that gender would be compared;
this means workers of different work fields would be compared to each other s.
Second of all, if there were numerically more of one gender than the other then the
statistics for comparing them would be off. Basically, because of these seemingly
obvious reasons the standard deviations in pay differences would be a much larger
value than it should. This is exactly what happened in the statistic seventy

believe that if she is not punished to the maximum, then others will not be afraid to

people who are high up on the corporate chain should be prosecuted just as hardly if
not harder then regular criminals because of all their benefits from the government.
As for the average high class citizen they believe that Martha should be prosecuted

Online Dating Analysis
Another aspect that social media drives is that of the human condition; one
interesting phenomena that has developed has been online dating. Although one
would hope that people are still meeting and developing relationships the old
fashioned way that being meeting face to face, online dating now represents (Beck
2013). In fact, in 2013, 23% of all people that meet online will get married (1). The
author establishes that the number is expected to continue to grow as more people
spend time online rather than in a live social setting. It could be argued that in the
absence of people meeting in settings conducive to intermingling, those who were
shy or seeking a specific type of person would use a datingservice. To a certain
extent, there is direct connectivity to having faith in a third party to match people.
Although afraid to engage the social network as a way of meeting a partner because
of the fear of the unknown, in reality it could be suggested that meeting someone
through a dating service also did not present that much more security (1).

Many researchers argue that social media provides a cloak by which people can hide
behind. In other instances, the Internet has established a place for those who fear
interacting in the real world. They can now safely communicate and build
relationships. The topic of cloaking is interesting because prior to the internet, people
had to venture out into the world and had to communicate live with people, the
process developed social skills that are threatening to be lost as social networking
continues to grow. At the forefront is the notion that social media as well as personal
electronics is killing communication (Tardanico 2012). The author reflecting on an

main justifications for punishments being designed and implemented. Justice for the
victim is one justification. For example, punishments such as an eye for an eye aim

another justification. For example, hanging someone in public was intended to serve
as a warning to potential criminals about what would happen if they too broke the
law. Rehabilitation is a third

Advertisements of women sexually objectified for the pleasure of men, does not

many live in today, where rape is approved. This leads to the controversial concept
of sexual consent, which is one of the most related topics when discussing rape
culture. Sexual consent varies in the multitude of ways that it can be announced
and discussed between sexual partners, such as non verbal cues or verbal cues, yet
the concept itself is completely ambiguous in determining what considered as
sexual consent, how and when it can be given. However, one of the more male
dominated societal ideologies is that women are expected to know what sexual

fact that women should not be the only ones be responsible of giving and asking for

often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs . Some see

Captain Phillip s First Fleet Of Convicts
Australia Captain James Cook first discovered Australia in 1770, but Australia was
founded by Captain Arthur Phillip on January 26, 1788. Captain Phillip brought in
convicts to the colony of the New South Wales, establishing Australia. An agricultural
work farm was established by Captain Phillip for the British convicts. Later on,
January 26 1818 became the official anniversary of British settlement in Australia.
And the year 1986 was when Australia became Independent from Great Britain. The

Notes On Chris Fights For Happiness
1.Chris fights for happiness. He does this by never giving up on his dreams,
extremely motivated to get a job to help support him and Christopher. Chris
refuses to give up and this makes him a good role model towards his son and
anyone else because in life we need to learn that some things may be hard to earn
and we shouldn t give up no matter what the circumstances are. He struggles to
keep his wife because of money, that s the one thing Chris needs to support for his
family. He values family and the fact that Christopher goes to day care just to watch
cartoons annoys Chris so much because he thinks he s paying good money for

Southern Hip Hop Culture
What do you think when you hear Southern hip hop, maybe its Atlanta and the great
Hip Hop artist it has created or Houston with their new wave of artists who are
climbing the billboard charts? Whatever you re answer is to this question, there is no
question that within the Hip hop Community no other segment of the united states
contributes more to the culture than the south! Southern hip hop contributes to hip
hop culture through the influences it has on popular dances, the development of their
own sound and most importantly southern hip hop influences the youth in the united
states. Dancing and Hip Hop are nearly synonymous since the very beginning of hip
hop dancing was an integral part, and the youth in the Bronx area who helped create
hip hop culture valued it highly. As the author of hip hop culture Emmett George

How Philanthropy Is Overrated
Philanthropy is almost the only virtue which is sufficiently appreciated by mankind.
I can get behind this idea about how philanthropy is overrated. I m sure Thoreau is
referring to extremely affluent people who give away portions of their hard earned
cash simply because it makes them look like better people and they will be
respected and glorified as charitable benefactors. In reality, this person has given
hardly a fraction of their total worth and is unjustly honored by the monetary
standards of those who aren t that rich. Thoreau also says, Nay, it is greatly
overrated; and it is our selfishness which overrates it. The previous example is a
prime case in which it is selfishness (of the benefactor) that overrates the philanthropy

Wiesel s Life Is Beautiful
Night Analysis
Life is Beautiful is fictional account of the Holocaust that gives the story a comedic
twist, therefore making it seem less accurate and not as believable. Night is a first
person memoir of a real survivor of the Holocaust and gives the reader a more
informative true story. In our lifetime, high schoolers have never had to experience a
tragedy that affected us as much as the effect of the Holocaust. It is difficult for a
teenager from a small town in America to comprehend the mass murders that
occurred within the Holocaust. We acknowledge that it happened, yet cannot make

Economic Systems And Economic System
Economic system
Economic system is that it consists of those situations which a given people or nation
has nations has chosen or accepted as the means through which resources are utilized
for the satisfaction of human wants. (studylecturenotes.com, 2016)
Economic system allows countries to follow procedure to produce goods using
resources available in the countries. It allows the countries to know how much and
for whom to produce. There are different types of economic systems in different
countries and they all have their different regulations according to their planned
economic system. There are two different types of market: Free Market and Planned
market.
Free market
An economic system in which prices are determined by unrestricted competition
between privately owned businesses (oxforddictionaries.com, 2016)
The free market is the economic system where the government has no or few
restrictions on buying and selling goods from different countries. There are no tariffs
or regulation processes being determined for trades. This is a very good economy to
start a business has it has no interest rate, exchange rate or any force to stop them
exchange their commodities in order to trade with different countries. The free
market allows the individual or group of people running the business to make
decision by themselves and allow that ease to trade with different countries at fair
exchange schemes.

The Kingship Of Odysseus
Odysseus s love for Penelope has not been changed even though he spends almost
eight years with goddesses. When Odysseus meet his mother in the House of
Death, he asks her about his family and royal rights. His shows the values of
kingship for him as he says, do my royal rights still lie in their safekeeping?
(XI.269). So let s look to the feeling of kingship that is internalized within him due to
a period of hardship.
Odysseus, being the king of his homeland, possesses remarkable leadership abilities.
In Greek system, king is known as ОІО±ПѓО№О»ОµПЌП‚ and has the power to
lead the people of his country. For instance, Odysseus appears as a leader when he
goes alone to free his shipmates from Circe s palace by keeping the companions in
the ship even though Eurylochus warns him that Circe is dangerous and there is no
chance for him to return from her. He does not depend on his shipmates to take any
decision from which he is an independent man. Thus, Odysseus considers himself a
heroic king who takes care of his people and always leads and protects them.
Odysseus would get the honor of a king only in Ithaca. Although Calypso could
provide everything to Odysseus, she could only fulfill his materialistic demands at
best. But Odysseus always thinks to rule over the citizens of his nation. If Odysseus
had married Calypso, that island would have been his land. Even though Odysseus
would be immortal and even he would have power after marriage, his power would

Leveraging Accounts Receivable
Accounts receivable represent the money that keeps your business afloat. When you
issue an invoice, you have made a sale. When you get an invoice payment, you have
cash flowing into your accounts. When your accounts receivable file expands, your
business is growing.
The down side is that outstanding accounts receivable also represent money that you
could be using for other things, like payroll or increasing inventory. Fortunately, you
can free up a good deal of that money by using accounts receivable factoring.

you may not know is that customer may have a very poor credit history with every

Don t let sentimentality blind you to potential problems.
Use credit limits for new customers.
When you decide to extend credit to a new customer, use credit limits at first. This
lets you get a solid picture of their payment habits before extending further credit. You
should be up front about the credit terms and limits. Also provide information on how
they can work up to better terms and limits.
Build a strong relationship with each customer.
When you build a strong, ongoing relationship with a customer, there is a personal
connection made. And it is less likely that a customer is going to do something to
jeopardize a close business relationship.
You need to know the people behind your customer s logo. Follow them on social
media. Send emails just to check in and see how things are going. Make note of
birthdays and anniversaries. Show them that you care.
Use accounts receivable factoring wisely.
Invoice factoring allows you to get cash out of your outstanding invoices so that you

Descartes Discourse On Method Summary
The mythical phoenix is born in the ashes of its mother once she has been consumed
in flame, becoming stronger than she ever was. In Discourse on Method, Descartes
hopes to destroy the conventional understanding of philosophy that has been
followed throughout the ages, and in doing so establish his own philosophy as the
new convention in the ashes of the old philosophy. In this paper, I will present
Descartes findings of instability in philosophy and distaste for the way people learn
as his motivation for undertaking this reconstruction of his thoughts, finding a firm
and lasting basis for the sciences as his end goal for the reconstruction, and his rules
for conducting thoughtand code of doubt as the way by which he hopes to achieve...

Descartes takes this idea and applies it to book learning, and he concludes that book
learning is composed and enlarged little by little from the opinions of many different
persons. However, he believes that book learning does not draw nearly as close to the
truth as the simple reasonings that a man of good sense can naturally make about the
things he encounters. Descartes believes that one should trust in their reason rather
than in their knowledge which has been collected from the opinions of others.
Secondly, Descartes, by embarking on this reconstruction of his thoughts, hopes to
find a stable basis for the sciences. Since Descartes was trained as a mathematician,
he likes to find proofs for ideas, so that he can know them with absolute certainty.
Initially, he believes philosophy to be the basis for the sciences insofar as they [the
sciences] borrow their principles from philosophy. However, he concludes that
philosophy cannot be the basis for the sciences, saying, one could not have built
anything upon such unstable foundations. Now, he has to find a stronger foundation
for the sciences and it is only through the reconstruction of his thought that he is able
to do this. Lastly, Descartes uses two methods to carry out the reconstruction of his
thoughts. The first method is his four rules for conducting thought, which will
characterize the way that he will look at the world during this period of
reconstruction. The first rule is

The Pros And Cons Of Digital Technology
Digital technology has emerged as a necessity for some in today s world, though it
still remains as a fog to others as they can see it all around but do not want it to
engulf them. People are now divided into two digital groups: online and offline.
The offline group is often also referred to as digital immigrants as they do not
partake in the digital realm. While this is the case, both sides have valid reasons
for which group they are a part of. Several factors go into who is online or offline
such as education level, geography, and the most telling factor, age. Digital
technology has also created a sense of FoMo (fear of missing out) for many users as
they can now see pictures, videos, and up to the minute updates, making the divide
that much greater. Digital immigrants are people who do not use digital technology.
While this can be positive in a sense that they are not lost in their phones , it is
negative because they can not be connected or have instant access to almost anything
through the digital realm. (Jurgenson) As digital technology continues to evolve,
people have become more accustomed to it although some digital immigrants still
refuse to take part in the digital realm. The digital realm has become a large topic of
discussion as technology has evolved and more devices come out each year to
enhance it. In The IRL Fetish by Nathan Jurgenson, he address this by saying: Each
moment is oversaturated with digital potential: Texts, status updates, photos,
Essay on Southeastern Native American Literature
Southeastern Native American Literature
Native American literature from the Southeastern United States is deeply rooted in
the oral traditions of the various tribes that have historically called that region home.
While the tribes most integrally associated with the Southeastern U.S. in the
American popular mind the FIVE CIVILIZED TRIBES (Cherokee, Chickasaw,
Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole) were forcibly relocated to Indian Territory (present
day Oklahoma) from their ancestral territories in the American South, descendents of
those tribes have created compelling literary works that have kept alive their tribal
identities and histories by incorporating traditional themes and narrative elements.

Members of the Five Civilized Tribes were at the vanguard of Native American
literature during the nineteenth century. The earliest work of fiction in English by
an author of native descent is generally thought to be Poor Sarah, or Religion

Cherokee tribe who was born in Georgia, Boudinot was the editor of the bilingual
newspaper The Cherokee Phoenix, the first periodical published by Native
Americans. Poor Sarah was not commercial fiction it was a propagandistic tract
from a religious advocate. The first overtly commercial work of fiction written by a
Native American was Life and Adventures of Joaquin Murieta, the Celebrated

Companies are Tricking People Through Marketing...
Companies use advertisements as a mirror for their products. They use
advertisements to encourage, persuade, or manipulate their audience. The most
important factor for the company is how the advertisements will appeal to the
customers. Companies use psychologists to help them gauge social trends. Time
and culture are very important as well companies need to know what people like,
value, or need the most at a certain time. They consider all of these factors when
promoting their products, yet they do not consider the quality of said products.
Companies have been successful with marketing advertisement because people
usually pay too much attention to the advertisements to pick what works best for
them, while trying to buy something. The first and second advertisements are about
how the corporations use Disney characters and happy kids on food or toys
products. Many food and toys, especially geared for children, usually have a kind
of contest that goes along with it. If you buy this , you have a chance to win this
which makes kids want it more. Usually a PlayStation or Xbox is the big prize
offered. Many things geared towards the children have a big impact on the child
who then makes it a big impact on the parent. Most of the times companies use
happy or cute kids to promote yogurt, cereal and toys advertisements, because people
like cute kids. Also all children are looking for that happinessand joy but when they
buy it they do not find what they were looking for. The
How Does Priestley Present Inequality In An Inspector Calls
In 1944 the play An inspector calls was created and was set in 1912. During this
time period men were noted to be superior to women, as they represented the
family as their last name would be the family s surname. Priestly explains the idea
of inequality in the play an inspector calls through social statuses and classes. The
head of the family Mr Birling, has a bourgeoisie like attitude meaning that he is of
a high status and most presumably right wing. Inequality is shown when Eva
Smith and her work mates ask for a pay rise, Mr Birling rejects as he does not want
increase their wage even though he can afford to do so as the cut will not
intervene with him financially, in fact Arthur Birling feels the need to repress the
workers of his company otherwise he believes they will develop class consciousness
and become greedy and they would soon be asking for the earth , and in the theory of
Marxism they would be classed as proletariat, which was theorised by Karl Marx.

Language is a system of representation that enables us to encode and convey meaning
through the production and combination of signs. (Neves, 2011) Multilingualism can,
therefore, be described as a person s capability to maintain and practice two or more
languages in an environment. This concept is quite commonly seen throughout South
Africaas there is a total of eleven official languages. These languages are critical in
today s youth as they are exposed to a culturally diverse society which enables them
to broaden their thinking in every day life.

positive aspect but they may never have the full vocabulary or grammar rules as
they are too busy learning both languages instead of concentrating fully on one. The
positive aspects of multilingualism outweighs the negatives as being bilingual
broadens one s opportunities in schooling, especially in tertiary education, as well as
one day when they are in search of jobs. A person is that much more employable and
more likely to be successful if they are able to participate and communicate
effectively in a growing and changing work environment.
Multilingualism can be seen as a vitally important factor amongst young South
Africans as there is a constant change occurring in the schooling and work
environments. The drastic change from Apartheid to the diverse and inclusive society
today, where all languages are accepted and recognised in South Africas legislation,
is the grounding and
Invasion Of Privacy
Say Cheese Surveillance cameras are found in places all around the globe. As these
cameras become more popular, people have become concerned with their own
privacy. Some common locations of these cameras are in stores, restaurants, on
streets, and in home security systems. When a crime is committed, there can be
verbal evidence provided by bystanders, but there is not more absolute proof than the
proof that is provided by these cameras. Even though some people argue that
surveillancecameras are an invasion of privacy, they definitely do more help than
harm.
In 1986, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act was passed. This gave law
enforcement the power to use video surveillance technology. Ever since this was
passed, surveillance cameras have saved many lives and helped solve many
crimes. One example of this is the bombing of the world trade center. After the
event, the FBI was able to use video surveillance to collect the evidence that was
needed to convict someone who was involved in the heinous crime. It is possible that
if not for the use of these cameras, this conviction may have never happened. This is
just one of the many instances where surveillance cameras have been extremely
useful in providing proof ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because they do not want the criminal to come after them for releasing
information about their crime. Luckily, the use of surveillance cameras can help
when people are afraid to speak up. In January 2017, two armed men robbed a
jewelry store in San Antonio mall. An innocent shopper in that store was shot and
killed as the two robbers fled the scene. Also, six bystanders were injured by the
robbers during this incident. A surveillance camerain the store recorded the incident
and help the police identify the robbers (Absolutely Senseless). If not for the cameras
in that store, the gunmen could have gotten away with not only attempted robbery,
but also with
Diction InRichard Cory, By Edwin Arlington Robinson
The poet, Edwin Arlington Robinson is the owner of the poem RIchard Cory
which was written in 1897. The poem was originally published as a part of the poet
s book The children of the night and also won three Pulitzer Prizes for his work. Poet
Robinson impacts the reader s mainly emotionally but also physically. Robinson does
us the favor to remind us that everything that happens does not always come out as
planned and things may seem some way but end up coming out a different way. He
thoroughly explains what the people do and how their self esteem connects with the
people and their actions. Robinson tries to get the people confused with what is
happening throughout the poem and what he talks about. To begin with, the author
Robinson writes the poem to make the people understand Richard Cory, he uses
literary devices such like formal diction. Robinson states in line two We people on
the pavement looked at him: He was a gentleman from sole to crown which
contains more complex diction. Robinson uses the word pavement to explain that
it is where the people are standing in the sidewalk. Robinson wants to make sure the
readers can picture what is going on and makes his diction fancy. Robinson also
uses the statement sole to crown which he is talking about how Richard Cory is a
gentleman from head to toes instead he utilizes more unfamiliar words like sole for
feet and crown as in head. In addition, in line 5 poet Robinson says And he was
always quietly arrayed and uses the uncommon word arrayed. In line 8 ...he
glittered when he walked also uses a formal word which is glittered. Robinson
uses those words to sound formally and depict the type of gentleman that Richard
Cory is. In addition to the literary devices, he also uses imagery. For example, in
line 9 he Robinson states he was rich yes, richer than a king I believe that the poet
uses this imagery in order to make the readers have an idea in their imagination of
how rich Cory could have been. Robinson wants to convince the readers that he was
very rich as they read those lines. Also, in lines 1 and 2 Whenever Richard Cory
went down town, We people on the pavement looked at him: the poet states those
lines which are original
Parity Between Men and Women in France
Parity between Men and Women in France
Nowadays, French society observes various inequalities. They can sometimes appear
legitimate, especially in the economic and social areas, because they would only
result from the individuals aptitudes and efforts; that would start with the same equal
opportunities. However, women are becoming more and more recognized by the
French population, which in turn, gives them increasing respect and responsibilities.
However, we can still wonder if women, since they are the main subject, play the
same roles in French society as men. Are these inequalities the result of an intense
research of efficiency, and thus necessary? In other words, is parity just an ideal that
does not guarantee an optimal management ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There is also an evolution towards more parity in fields not really feminized (such as
engineer schools, preparatory classes to higher education institutions with competitive
entrance examination), and a more important feminization of the fields already
associated with females such as literature, art, etc (Ministry of National Education,
Youth, and Community Life). Unfortunately, the parity observed in education is not
applied in the job market. An equal professional insertion is still difficult for young
women, and in opposition to their higher success at school.
We can notice that the employment rate is more important among women than
among men in France, with 8 million unemployed women in 2008. They also have a
lower activity rate: 65.5% versus 74.6% for men in 2008. Moreover, one third of
them have a part time job, which leads to a higher poverty rate: 7.4% versus 6.9%
(INSEE). As a consequence, women live in more precarious life styles and are
sources of various social and economic issues. Thus, there is no economic
independence for women and therefore no equality for them. Finally, even though
women are very active, the activity rate considerably decreases along with the number
of dependent children. Women are consequently more qualified than men, but

Act I Scene 1 Homework Graphing a Wave
Name:
A vibration is a wiggle in time; a wave is a wiggle in space and time. In this exercise,
you will explore that connection by transferring the motion of the second hand of a
clock (a vibration, even if a slow one), to a wave.
Print out the image of a clock and open the spreadsheet called Grapher. You will find
both of them in the same item where you found these instructions.
Use a metric ruler to measure the displacement of the tip of the second hand every
five seconds. That s the distance above or below the center line that connects the 3

Alien And Sedition Acts Violated Citizens Rights
Alien and Sedition Acts Violated Citizens Rights Final
George Washington was unanimously elected as the first President of United States
of America in 1789 and again in 1792. No political parties existed in America during
that time. Founding Fathers including George Washington believed that political
parties would be harmful for the young America. They envisioned the politics in the
young nation to be cooperative and not competitive. By the end of the eighteenth
century, however, political parties had become a reality in the form of Federalist
Party and Democratic Republican Party. The two parties differed in a variety of
ways but they especially differed in terms of their foreign relations with European
powers. Federalists led by Alexander Hamilton wanted to create a stable economy
built on trade favoring the wealthy business owners. Democratic Republicans led by
Thomas Jefferson, on the other hand, had the interests of poor farmers, and
immigrants in their mind. Federalists supported the British against the radical French
whereas Republicans preferred to maintain friendly relations with the democratic
French against the British. Earlier, in 1794, President George Washington had
angered the French leaders when he signed the Jay Treaty with Great Britain in 1794
settling the differences between the two countries. John Adams, a federalist, was
elected the second President of the United States of America in 1797. After taking
over as President, he sent American envoys to
The Journal Of Antonio Pigafetta
Introduction The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the
future. This is a quote by Theodore Roosevelt that speaks about a certain truth about
History, the past. People tend to think that history is of no importance, but what they
don t know is that the past plays a certain role in shaping the present and the future.
When I was assigned to write a paper about the Philippine s history during the
Spanish colonization, I was determined to find a topic that greatly influenced and
affected the history of the world. A suggestion was given to me that I should write
about the significant journal entries of Antonio Pigafetta about Magellan s journey. I
found this topic immensely interesting and I decided to write about it though it
seemed to be a difficult subject.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This journal reveals a fascinating voyage of discovery. Because of Pigafetta s
writing, students like me get the chance to sail along with Ferdinand Magellan and
his crew. In addition, this journal of Antonio Pigafetta widened human knowledge
about the world that we are living in. We always have that tendency to receive
something without being thankful for it. While we learn so much from the
writings of Antonio Pigafetta and learn from it, I think that we are not as grateful
for them as we should be. My term paper is about five significant journal entries of
Antonio Pigafetta. I hope that by the end of this paper, we would not only learn
more about Magellan s journey, but I truly hope that we would also appreciate
Antonio Pigafetta s journal, for it is our very own key to the
Christ’s Resurrection Foretold and Witnessed
I suppose, since I became a Christian (born again July 31, 1975), I have heard a lot
of different opinions concerning different areas and events of the Bible. Of all the
topics and points of interest, none has intrigued me as much as the Death, Burial,
and Resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As you read this study there
is one main point that all Christians will agree on. It may not be the day of the week
or the hour of the day Jesusdied, but we will all agree to the fact that Jesus did arise
from the dead and is currently at the right hand of God the Father. You might be a
religious person, yet not believe Jesus arose from the dead. That belief would not
negate you from being religious, but it would negate a profession... Show more

It shall be a Sabbath of Rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for
ever.
Just as the tenth day of the seventh month comes on different days of the week, and
the tenth day is known as Sabbath, it stands to reason that there isn t just one
Sabbath in every week. Just as the seventh month and tenth day is to be the day of
atonement, (a Sabbath of Rest) and it may fall on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or
whatever day of the week, there is still a seventh day of the week (Saturday) Sabbath
in that same week.
It was such a Holy day, a Sabbath day, approaching when Jesus was crucified. (John
19:31, KJV). The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies
shall not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was a
high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be
taken away. (KJV). Therefore it stands to reason there were two Sabbath s in the
week of crucifixion: 1) the high day Sabbath, 2) the seventh day of the week,
Saturday. With this in mind, it would be very possible for Jesus to have been
Crucified prior to the beginning of
Dress Codes For The Real World Essay
Disguised as guidelines for the real world, dress codes hold a significant part in the
role of rape culture. Students of the public school system are told that dress codes
are here to prepare students for outside job responsibilities and most notably, to
promote self respect. However, dress codes target young girls by telling them if
they are wearing a certain top or type of pants, they are not respecting themselves.
This is a PG way of saying that boys will be boys , so if they get distracted by your
shoulders or legs, then it is the females fault because she should have known to not
wear something so provocative. This lesson that has sent home hundreds of girls
from school is dangerous. Every time a girlis sent home, a negative message is passed
along that the femalebody is only a distraction and that a males education is more
important than a females . As a result of this, I have created WAC. Women Against
Codes is an organization devoted to helping young girls and supporters speak their
minds and ending dress codes. My organization is here to end the learning of the
idea that women are not subject to respect based upon what they wear, female
bodies are sexual no matter of the circumstance, and that women do not have a
sexuality of their own and if they do, it is purely for a man s own benefit. We are
here to tell not only school administrators, but also society that we need to teach
respect amongst all students instead of sending a girl home to create a safe,
Circus Posters of P.T. Barnum and The Ringling Brothers
Before there was the Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey and their Greatest Show on
Earth there was just P.T. Barnum and the Ringling brothers each with their own
traveling circus. Barnum s circus was originally known as P.T. Barnum s Grand
Traveling Museum, Menagerie, Caravan and Circus, which was unveiled as the
largest American circusin 1870 and quickly became a hit (Barnum s Timeline). Then
in 1881 Barnum, James Bailey, and James Hutchinson partnered up to create P.T.
Barnum s Greatest Show on Earth The Great London Circus, which later became
Barnum Bailey s Greatest Show on Earth in 1888 (P.T. Barnum). Sixteen years after
Barnum s death in 1891, the Ringling brothers bought out their competition, but the
two shows continued to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the largest display text of the Barnum poster has been treated much
differently than that of the Ringling poster. The Barnum poster advertises the
performer Lulu s human cannonball type act, so the fact that the text The Only
and Original is curved and shaped in such a way that it seems to somewhat
resemble a cannon with the barrel pointed towards the full body illustration of
Lulu is most likely not a coincidence. Additionally, the typeface of the LuLu text is
fancier with its decorative serifs and swirly tails than the other typefaces on that
poster and on the Ringling poster. The two posters both employ serif and sans serif
typestyles but the Ringling poster uses a slab serif while the Barnum poster has a
more decorative style serif. Moreover, the serif type on the Ringling poster has a
bulkier, rounder, slightly casual appearance to it while the Barnum poster s serif
type appears more angular and rigid with a more formal appearance. The sans serif
type on the bottom of the Ringling poster has that same slightly round and
informal feel to it that the poster s serif typestyle has, much like the way that the
angular rigidness of the Barnum poster s serif typeface is echoed in the choice of
sans serif typestyle. In addition, the smaller display text at the top of the Barnum
poster has a light gray drop shadow to set it apart from the other black text around
the poster and to grab the viewer s attention away from the colored type and image.

Advantages vs Disadvantages
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of
obtainable information as well as the advantages and disadvantages of social media.
I will also explain how knowing these advantages and disadvantages can alter how a
person might use social media. The last thing I will talk about what credibility issues
can arise from information on the internet.
Obtainable Information
Advantages of easily obtainable information. You have the advantage to find out
about anything that is within the reach of your fingertips thanks to search engines
such as Google, Google Chrome, Bing, Firefox, and more.
You can find out what is going on all over the world as well as the local news. You
can keep up with the President both past and present. The internet will allow you
to do all sorts of things. If you wanted to do some shopping you can do that as well.
You can compare prices of who has the best deal all without leaving your home.
That way when you make you mind up you know where you want to go and you do
not have to go from store to store. There are ways to find out something that
happened a few years back if need be. You can research old articles. If you wanted to
do people search you could do that as well to a certain point without being charged a
fee.
Some disadvantages of easily obtainable information. If you have done something on

Government And Military Corruption In Nigeria
ABSTRACT
Religious identity played a crucial role in the development of Nigeria, and the
conflicts in both the Northern and Southern regions of the country. Government and
military corruption has played a debilitating role in Nigeria and is a reflection of past
and present governance.
The failure of the Government and Military in Nigeria to address challenges such as
poverty, unemployment and corruption, ultimately resulted to anger, agitation and
violent crimes against the Nigerian state by some individuals and groups. Such
crimes include militancy, kidnapping, bombing. The democratic peace process has
been hampered due to security challenges, lack of security policies, economic
instability.
INTRODUCTION
Many Nigerian s do not trust the political class or democracy due to the amount of
corruption in the government and military, the government has turned democracy
into a money making venture.
In self defiant, individuals have lined their pockets with the ill gotten gains of
corruption taking away funds that should have been ear marked for schools,
infrastructure, and social programs. This was evident in 2012 when the late when the
Swiss government returned over $700 million from the bank account of the late
General Sani Abacha the de facto President of Nigeria from 1993 to 1998. These
funds were allegedly looted by the former military leader and multiple bank accounts
were setup.
Many Nigerian s do not trust the political class or democracy due to

Many of us dream of becoming rich to live the life that we always wanted.
However, being rich doesn t mean that you are always financially free. Once you
become rich, you always think that your lifestyle should change and usually it
becomes expensive. There are people who had millions of money, but lost it all in
just a short span of time. Just look at some of the lotto winners who won millions
of pesos and have spent it all in a snap. Since they have a lot of money on hand,
they bought big mansions, luxury cars and go to parties almost every night. They
spent every cent of their prize buying everything life has to offer them. Later on as
time passes by, their money is getting smaller and no longer enough to sustain their
chosen lifestyle. So to avoid the agony of going back to the rags once again, they
resort to debts and all sort of loans out there. This is not what financial freedom is all
about.
Here are 8 reasons why you need to become financially free than just aim being rich:
1) To cover all your needs. This

  • 1. Definition Essay Writing a definition essay may initially seem deceptively simple, as it revolves around defining a particular concept or term. However, the difficulty lies in crafting a comprehensive and nuanced exploration of the chosen subject. First and foremost, selecting an appropriate topic is crucial; it should be broad enough to allow for in-depth analysis, yet specific enough to avoid vagueness. The process involves meticulous research to gain a profound understanding of the term or concept. This necessitates exploring various sources, from academic articles to everyday usage, in order to provide a well-rounded and accurate definition. Striking a balance between formal definitions and real-world applications adds complexity to the task. Structuring the essay also poses a challenge. While adhering to the conventional introduction, body, and conclusion framework, organizing the content in a logical sequence is essential. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall understanding and support the main thesis. Additionally, defining a term involves not only providing a meaning but also delving into its historical context, evolution, and potential controversies. Achieving clarity is another hurdle. The language used must be precise, avoiding ambiguity and ensuring that readers can grasp the intended meaning effortlessly. Striking this balance requires careful consideration of the audience's knowledge level and familiarity with the subject. Moreover, conveying a personal perspective while maintaining objectivity adds an extra layer of difficulty. The essay should reflect critical thinking, presenting an informed opinion without becoming overly subjective or biased. In conclusion, writing a definition essay involves navigating various challenges, from selecting the right topic to crafting a well-structured and clear narrative. The intricate dance between objectivity and personal insight requires finesse, making the process both demanding and intellectually stimulating. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any academic writing challenges, resources like HelpWriting.net can provide valuable support. • 2. Magical Realism In The Transformation Of Gregor By Kalfa Kalfa uses magical realism in the transformation of Gregor from a human to a bug. By his transformation, we see clearly how unreasonable things occurring for no reason. In addition, Magic realism is a fictional technique that combines fantasy with raw, physical or social reality in a search for truth beyond that available from the surface of everyday life. A magical element that is set to know is that Gregor gives sacrifice and unconditional devotion for the love of his family even though they treat him so badly when he becomes a bug they forget all about him and feel disgust towards hm. Therefore, becomes an object of disgrace to his entire family and within outsider in his own home which brings him to be isolated from everyone else.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, He especially liked hanging from the ceiling; it was completely different from lying on the floor; one could breathe more freely; a faint swinging sensation went through the body; and in the almost happy absent mindedness which Gregor felt up there, it could happen to his own surprise that he let go and plopped onto the floor (2.20) . For example, this shows the aspect of the magical realism that is happening when Gregor is hanging of the ceiling which can be supernatural because one as human can not do that kind movement
  • 3. Gogol s Relationships In The Namesake Gogol s relationships in The Namesake A namesake is someone or something that has the same name as another person or thing. In the book The Namesake, Gogol was named after a Russian author, Nikolai Gogol. His father had been reading a book by him one day while he was on a train in between the two cities Calcutta and Jamshedpur. In the middle of the night the train crashed and the rescuers found him because of the book pages he had left in his hand. Ashoke claimed that the book saved his life. After he recovers from his train injuries, he and his wife Ashima move to America. Ashima, who gets pregnant, has her baby in an American hospital, beginning their Bengali family. In India, children are given two names: your good name and your pet name. While in Calcutta, where his father, Ashoke, and mother, Ashima, could have waited years to decide on an official name, in America they only had days. They waited in the hospital for a letter from Ashima s grandmother containing a name but eventually they were forced to chose one. As Gogol got older he began to realize that his name was different and made him stand out. He began to hate his name and himself as well. His name was supposed to be more than just a title for him, it was supposed to be who he was. When he became interested in girls, he decided that Gogol was not an acceptable name so he began introducing himself as Nikhil, the name his parents intended people outside of the family to call him. This is the beginning of Gogol exploring and

  • 5. Threat of Hackers on the Internet Essay Research Critique The ability of the attackers to rapidly gain control of vast number of Internet hosts poses an immense threat to the overall security of the Internet (Staniford, Paxson Weaver, 2002). Once compromised, these hosts can not only be used for massive Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, but also steal or corrupt great quantities of sensitive information by confusing and disrupting the network in more subtle ways (Honeynet, 2005). The attackers accomplish this task by sending an intrusion agent commonly known as В‘worm . There are two major types of malicious codes in the wild (Todd, 2003, pp. 2). These codes are differentiated by their means of propagation: worms are self replicating, self propagating,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First article that discussed self replicating code within a C compiler appeared in 1984 by Thompson. Morris worm was launched in 1988, which had a devastating effect on the Internet (Todd, 2003). Most research conducted so far has focused on modeling and detection of the Internet worm propagation. However, the final objective of the research is containment and elimination of these worms, which has not received enough research (Zheng Duan). This paper discusses the possible future network attack which will probably use an organized army of malicious nodes called malnets. These malnets are capable of delivering many different types of attacks. According to several researchers who are working on finding out how the malicious worms propagate on the internet the ground has already been set (Honeynet, 2005; Zheng Duan; Geer, 2005; Staniford, Paxson Weaver, 2002). However, partly due to the lack of understanding of the resiliency and efficiency a malnet can have, countering malnets has been ineffective (Li, Ehrenkranz Kuenning, 2005). Placement of the article in the literature The paper is very recent and appeared in 2005. Since the paper has an interesting and unique topic both in security of the Internet and how distributed systems of malicious bots work it can be considered both as emerging seminal work
  • 6. Rhetorical Analysis Of Todd Hill Introduction Public speaking is not for the faint of heart, it is a nerve wracking experience full of anxiety and fear of public judgment. These are some common thoughts among students enrolled in RCM 401 Oral Rhetoric. With the application of theory, continued practice, and constructive feedback from peers, these opinions are likely to change as they increase their knowledge of oral rhetoric and look for ways to sharpen their public speaking skills. Todd Thorn is a strong example of a peer of oral rhetoric that has worked on improving his public speaking through the application of theory and constructive feedback from fellow peers. The following is an analysis of Todd s improvement over the 2018 Winter Semester in RCM 401. The analysis... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Speech 3 does not follow the rhythm (Heinrichs 2007) as the Speech 1 and 2, making it difficult to understand the structure and order of the Modes of Appeals. • 8. Poetry Explication First Poem for You by Kim Addonizio... Poetry Explication Just as poetry is a permanent mark of feelings that last forever on paper, tattoos are permanent symbols that last forever on the skin. Tattoos and poetry can easily be combined such as in Kim Addonizio s sonnet, First Poem for You, the speaker admires her partner s nature themed tattoos in a darkened room. This may seem to be a simple poem, but by utilizing tattoos as symbols, including tactile and visual imagery in her poem, and using the sonnetas her structure, Addonizio laments about the true meaning of relationships and their longevity. Symbols are used throughout Addonizio s sonnet. I like to touch your tattoos in complete/darkness, when I can t see them (1 2). The darkness not only represents the lack of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But by employing the word pulsing (4), the reader can really feel the lover s heart beating on the speaker s hand. This addresses the fact that love has a pulse and it can halt just as well as a heart can. Through visual and tactile imagery, Addonizio shows how close intimately the lovers are with one another. Structure is important in First Poem for You as well. Addonizio chose to write a sonnet to have the last lines truly conclude the poem in a way that meditates on the permanence of the tattoos. The author destroys the immediate, powerful, and concrete image of the lovers with such permanence is terrifying. / So I touch them in the dark; but touch them, trying (13 14). These lines represent the vague understanding of the future between the two partners. It is unknown if the two will remain together or not and the last line leaves the reader hanging. This creates a deep reality with the poem that can easily be connected with, for the fate of a relationship is truly unknown. First Poem for You, by Kim Addonizio, illustrates a night between two lovers lying next to each other. From this sonnet, it is discovered that through symbolism, imagery, and structure, the speaker s views on relationships are embellished. Addonizio, Kim. First Poem for You. PoetryOutloud. 2011.
  • 9. Good Versus Evil, The Allies Versus The Axis, World War II Good versus evil, the allies versus the axis, world war II was raging throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia. Neither winning nor losing was guaranteed to either side, so each wanted an ace up their sleeve. In fear of Germany acquiring a nuclear bomb, the United States set up their own program, the Manhattan project, in order to make one before the Nazis could. With the help of British and refugee scientists, and a blank check of two billion dollars, now $32.5 billion, the Manhattan project was born in 1942, and only three years later in 1945, the first atomic bomb was tested in New Mexico. Ironically, by this time Germany had stopped trying to make a nuclear bomb. Although the war was reaching its final hour, Japan showed no intention to surrender, so in order to avoid a costly invasion, the United States pulled out its ace and dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima and 3 days later, Fat Man on Nagasaki . With the war having ended and the world having seen the grand awe of a nuclear weapon, the enemy of my enemy is my friend mentality of the United States and Soviet Union s alliance was no more, and the two superpowers were thrust into the Cold War. Although the cold war caused death and despair, the arms race between the United States and Soviet union had positive effects, therefore the cold war had a positive effect on the world. Despite the Cold War having no direct fighting between the U.S and the soviets, there were still multiple costly indirect conflicts between the two

  • 11. Essay On The Galapago Trip Off the Beaten Path Galapagos trips are rare; the restrictions in place pretty much rule them out. Any incursion into the Galapagos National Park is done with a certified guide, boats are limited to stopping at each visitor site once in a fourteen day period and the notion of setting off on your to parts unknown independently is distinctly and absolutely frowned upon. While being saddled with a guide and limitations that prohibit independent travel is disconcerting to many, the advent of a new twist on an old tradition offers relief to those is search of a trail blazing adventure. The Galapagos Safari Camp is the real deal, taking its cue from African counterparts and giving people a genuine way to explore the islands. One that embraces conservation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This adventure led me to update a guidebook, manage a non profit travel club and through a maze of places that didn t make the cut. Needless to say, my latest discovery is worth its salt and deserving of the time it takes to finish this article. Conventional wisdom about the Galapagos dictates that trips are taken on boats, more islands are accessible in a limited amount of time. This way of thinking isn t easily changed, but making a decision to take a land based trip just makes sense. Time is spent getting to know the islands from a hands on perspective, seeing the uninhabited destinations by day and spending the nights in the natural surroundings. Adding a different element to the trip and bringing the environment to life. Michael and Stephanie Mesdag realized this while on vacation. A trip into the highlands of Santa Cruz led them to a farm for sale next to the National Park border. The subsequent purchase made way for two years of camping on the property while getting to know the islands culturally and planning an environmentally friendly way to open up the Galapagos to a safari
  • 12. Milk Biscuits, Breakfast Biscuits And Dependent Variable... The children s inclination for the appearance or taste of four different brands of chocolate biscuits, breakfast biscuits, and breadsticks is what needs to be investigated. The accomplishment would be to determine the visual and taste fondness of three gluten free commercial products. This study would help nurses during patient teachings to make recommendations of gluten free products and it would help nurses in the appearance of foods being served to patients. Kildegaard et al. have presented that the way the food looks will define if the child will eat it or not. Cooke Wardle found that girls select healthier foods than boys at all ages. Thirty children ,22 females and 8 males, age range 6 12 years, with diagnosis of celiac disease from more than 2 years were selected to do this study. The independent variables are the four different brands of three gluten free products, and the dependent variable is the high preference of appearance test. The children used the 5 point hedonic facial scale to evaluate the different foods. The visual tests always showed higher scores in the 5 point scale than the taste liking rating. The taste test showed that children s anticipations were lower than expected. It is important to make the food given to patients have a nice appearance so they can at least try the food and not reject it without tasting it first. A limitation is that the children must ve been diagnosed within two years with celiac disease. Manufacturing companies
  • 13. The Issue Of Pay Equality Lilly Ledbetter wasn t lazy; she and all women just want equal pay Rebuttal The issue of pay equality between genders has always been an important topic. For some reason many people believe that women are still unfairly paid less than men. The common statistic, now popular belief, is that women get paid seventy seven cents for every dollar a man makes. Though this statistic seems real it was no more than a false statistic used to help politicians get votes. The truth is, if the math was done the correct way, then this statistic would be significantly smaller than we originally thought. When comparing job salaries between workers you would first need to compare the average income between the two sexes. The statistic used (seventy seven cents) is a median value for women. The reason why this information would be wrong is because this compares all ranges of salaries; the amount of people involved, and finds the middle value in the list. This method is incorrect for two reasons in particular. First of all, the salaries of all workers of that gender would be compared; this means workers of different work fields would be compared to each other s. Second of all, if there were numerically more of one gender than the other then the statistics for comparing them would be off. Basically, because of these seemingly obvious reasons the standard deviations in pay differences would be a much larger value than it should. This is exactly what happened in the statistic seventy

The question being debated in the business field is who is to blame in this scenario, and if it is Stewart, should her punishments be so severe? Some seem to think that the charges and trails are ridiculous. The Securities and Exchange Commission should leave people like Stewart alone and concentrate on real corporate crooks. (Glassman). However others look at it as something that cannot be tolerated and believe that if she is not punished to the maximum, then others will not be afraid to follow in her footsteps. On the other hand there are many people that think that people who are high up on the corporate chain should be prosecuted just as hardly if not harder then regular criminals because of all their benefits from the government. As for the average high class citizen they believe that Martha should be prosecuted because they think she is wrong and giving their class of people a bad name, which black balls the whole brokerage industry as well as certain firms such as Merrill lynch . Juror of the Stewart Trail, Chappell Hartridge, says Maybe it s a victory for the little guys who lose money in the Market because of these kinds of transactions, Or maybe its just a sigh of relief to the rest of the guys who are doing the wrong thing still and wanted to have someone else get caught in the process and are just happy that it wasn t them. • 15. Online Dating Analysis Another aspect that social media drives is that of the human condition; one interesting phenomena that has developed has been online dating. Although one would hope that people are still meeting and developing relationships the old fashioned way that being meeting face to face, online dating now represents (Beck 2013). In fact, in 2013, 23% of all people that meet online will get married (1). The author establishes that the number is expected to continue to grow as more people spend time online rather than in a live social setting. It could be argued that in the absence of people meeting in settings conducive to intermingling, those who were shy or seeking a specific type of person would use a datingservice. To a certain extent, there is direct connectivity to having faith in a third party to match people. Although afraid to engage the social network as a way of meeting a partner because of the fear of the unknown, in reality it could be suggested that meeting someone through a dating service also did not present that much more security (1). In other instances, the Internet has established a place for those who fear interacting in the real world. They can now safely communicate and build relationships. The topic of cloaking is interesting because prior to the internet, people had to venture out into the world and had to communicate live with people, the process developed social skills that are threatening to be lost as social networking continues to grow. At the forefront is the notion that social media as well as personal electronics is killing communication (Tardanico 2012). Descartes takes this idea and applies it to book learning, and he concludes that book learning is composed and enlarged little by little from the opinions of many different persons. However, he believes that book learning does not draw nearly as close to the truth as the simple reasonings that a man of good sense can naturally make about the things he encounters. Descartes believes that one should trust in their reason rather than in their knowledge which has been collected from the opinions of others. Secondly, Descartes, by embarking on this reconstruction of his thoughts, hopes to find a stable basis for the sciences. Since Descartes was trained as a mathematician, he likes to find proofs for ideas, so that he can know them with absolute certainty. Essay on Southeastern Native American Literature Southeastern Native American Literature Native American literature from the Southeastern United States is deeply rooted in the oral traditions of the various tribes that have historically called that region home. While the tribes most integrally associated with the Southeastern U.S. in the American popular mind the FIVE CIVILIZED TRIBES (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole) were forcibly relocated to Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma) from their ancestral territories in the American South, descendents of those tribes have created compelling literary works that have kept alive their tribal identities and histories by incorporating traditional themes and narrative elements. Lankford and W. K. McNeil (1987). Members of the Five Civilized Tribes were at the vanguard of Native American literature during the nineteenth century. The earliest work of fiction in English by an author of native descent is generally thought to be Poor Sarah, or Religion Exemplified in the Life and Death of an Indian Woman, a 1823 pamphlet probably written by Elias Boudinot (ca. 1804 1839). A formally educated member of the Cherokee tribe who was born in Georgia, Boudinot was the editor of the bilingual newspaper The Cherokee Phoenix, the first periodical published by Native Americans. Poor Sarah was not commercial fiction it was a propagandistic tract from a religious advocate. The first overtly commercial work of fiction written by a Native American was Life and Adventures of Joaquin Murieta, the Celebrated California Bandit (1854), a best selling novel set in California during

The most important factor for the company is how the advertisements will appeal to the customers. Companies use psychologists to help them gauge social trends. Time and culture are very important as well companies need to know what people like, value, or need the most at a certain time. They consider all of these factors when promoting their products, yet they do not consider the quality of said products. Companies have been successful with marketing advertisement because people usually pay too much attention to the advertisements to pick what works best for them, while trying to buy something. The first and second advertisements are about how the corporations use Disney characters and happy kids on food or toys products. Many food and toys, especially geared for children, usually have a kind of contest that goes along with it. If you buy this , you have a chance to win this which makes kids want it more. Usually a PlayStation or Xbox is the big prize offered. Many things geared towards the children have a big impact on the child who then makes it a big impact on the parent. Most of the times companies use happy or cute kids to promote yogurt, cereal and toys advertisements, because people like cute kids. Also all children are looking for that happinessand joy but when they buy it they do not find what they were looking for. The

During this time period men were noted to be superior to women, as they represented the family as their last name would be the family s surname. Priestly explains the idea of inequality in the play an inspector calls through social statuses and classes. The head of the family Mr Birling, has a bourgeoisie like attitude meaning that he is of a high status and most presumably right wing. Inequality is shown when Eva Smith and her work mates ask for a pay rise, Mr Birling rejects as he does not want increase their wage even though he can afford to do so as the cut will not intervene with him financially, in fact Arthur Birling feels the need to repress the workers of his company otherwise he believes they will develop class consciousness and become greedy and they would soon be asking for the earth , and in the theory of Marxism they would be classed as proletariat, which was theorised by Karl Marx. • 42. Discussion of the Importance of Multilingualism Among Yout... Language is a system of representation that enables us to encode and convey meaning through the production and combination of signs. (Neves, 2011) Multilingualism can, therefore, be described as a person s capability to maintain and practice two or more languages in an environment. This concept is quite commonly seen throughout South Africaas there is a total of eleven official languages. These languages are critical in today s youth as they are exposed to a culturally diverse society which enables them to broaden their thinking in every day life. Language within societies can be broken down into two categories, namely Linguistic Determinism and Linguistic Relativism. Linguistic Determinism proposes that different languages incorporate ... (Sakai, 2005) It is classified under Cognitive Psychology and this development builds and enhances a child s communication skills in their schooling careers. However, if children attend parallel medium schooling, they are likely never to learn and use one language. They will be able to speak and write in both languages which is a positive aspect but they may never have the full vocabulary or grammar rules as they are too busy learning both languages instead of concentrating fully on one. The positive aspects of multilingualism outweighs the negatives as being bilingual broadens one s opportunities in schooling, especially in tertiary education, as well as one day when they are in search of jobs. A person is that much more employable and more likely to be successful if they are able to participate and communicate effectively in a growing and changing work environment. Multilingualism can be seen as a vitally important factor amongst young South Africans as there is a constant change occurring in the schooling and work environments. The drastic change from Apartheid to the diverse and inclusive society today, where all languages are accepted and recognised in South Africas legislation, is the grounding and
  • 43. Invasion Of Privacy Say Cheese Surveillance cameras are found in places all around the globe. As these cameras become more popular, people have become concerned with their own privacy. Some common locations of these cameras are in stores, restaurants, on streets, and in home security systems. When a crime is committed, there can be verbal evidence provided by bystanders, but there is not more absolute proof than the proof that is provided by these cameras. Even though some people argue that surveillancecameras are an invasion of privacy, they definitely do more help than harm. In 1986, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act was passed. This gave law enforcement the power to use video surveillance technology. Ever since this was passed, surveillance cameras have saved many lives and helped solve many crimes. One example of this is the bombing of the world trade center. After the event, the FBI was able to use video surveillance to collect the evidence that was needed to convict someone who was involved in the heinous crime. It is possible that if not for the use of these cameras, this conviction may have never happened. The poem was originally published as a part of the poet s book The children of the night and also won three Pulitzer Prizes for his work. Poet Robinson impacts the reader s mainly emotionally but also physically. Robinson does us the favor to remind us that everything that happens does not always come out as planned and things may seem some way but end up coming out a different way. He thoroughly explains what the people do and how their self esteem connects with the people and their actions. Robinson tries to get the people confused with what is happening throughout the poem and what he talks about. To begin with, the author Robinson writes the poem to make the people understand Richard Cory, he uses literary devices such like formal diction. Robinson states in line two We people on the pavement looked at him: He was a gentleman from sole to crown which contains more complex diction. Robinson uses the word pavement to explain that it is where the people are standing in the sidewalk. Robinson wants to make sure the readers can picture what is going on and makes his diction fancy. Robinson also uses the statement sole to crown which he is talking about how Richard Cory is a gentleman from head to toes instead he utilizes more unfamiliar words like sole for feet and crown as in head. In addition, in line 5 poet Robinson says And he was always quietly arrayed and uses the uncommon word arrayed. In line 8 ...he glittered when he walked also uses a formal word which is glittered. Robinson uses those words to sound formally and depict the type of gentleman that Richard Cory is. In addition to the literary devices, he also uses imagery. For example, in line 9 he Robinson states he was rich yes, richer than a king I believe that the poet uses this imagery in order to make the readers have an idea in their imagination of how rich Cory could have been. Robinson wants to convince the readers that he was very rich as they read those lines. Also, in lines 1 and 2 Whenever Richard Cory went down town, We people on the pavement looked at him: the poet states those lines which are original

They can sometimes appear legitimate, especially in the economic and social areas, because they would only result from the individuals aptitudes and efforts; that would start with the same equal opportunities. However, women are becoming more and more recognized by the French population, which in turn, gives them increasing respect and responsibilities. However, we can still wonder if women, since they are the main subject, play the same roles in French society as men. Are these inequalities the result of an intense research of efficiency, and thus necessary? In other words, is parity just an ideal that does not guarantee an optimal management ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is also an evolution towards more parity in fields not really feminized (such as engineer schools, preparatory classes to higher education institutions with competitive entrance examination), and a more important feminization of the fields already associated with females such as literature, art, etc (Ministry of National Education, Youth, and Community Life). Unfortunately, the parity observed in education is not applied in the job market. An equal professional insertion is still difficult for young women, and in opposition to their higher success at school. We can notice that the employment rate is more important among women than among men in France, with 8 million unemployed women in 2008. They also have a lower activity rate: 65.5% versus 74.6% for men in 2008. Moreover, one third of them have a part time job, which leads to a higher poverty rate: 7.4% versus 6.9% (INSEE). As a consequence, women live in more precarious life styles and are sources of various social and economic issues. Thus, there is no economic independence for women and therefore no equality for them. Finally, even though women are very active, the activity rate considerably decreases along with the number of dependent children. Women are consequently more qualified than men, but

Alien And Sedition Acts Violated Citizens Rights Alien and Sedition Acts Violated Citizens Rights Final George Washington was unanimously elected as the first President of United States of America in 1789 and again in 1792. No political parties existed in America during that time. Founding Fathers including George Washington believed that political parties would be harmful for the young America. They envisioned the politics in the young nation to be cooperative and not competitive. By the end of the eighteenth century, however, political parties had become a reality in the form of Federalist Party and Democratic Republican Party. The two parties differed in a variety of ways but they especially differed in terms of their foreign relations with European powers. Federalists led by Alexander Hamilton wanted to create a stable economy built on trade favoring the wealthy business owners. Democratic Republicans led by Thomas Jefferson, on the other hand, had the interests of poor farmers, and immigrants in their mind. Federalists supported the British against the radical French whereas Republicans preferred to maintain friendly relations with the democratic French against the British. Earlier, in 1794, President George Washington had angered the French leaders when he signed the Jay Treaty with Great Britain in 1794 settling the differences between the two countries. Just as the seventh month and tenth day is to be the day of atonement, (a Sabbath of Rest) and it may fall on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or whatever day of the week, there is still a seventh day of the week (Saturday) Sabbath in that same week. It was such a Holy day, a Sabbath day, approaching when Jesus was crucified. (John 19:31, KJV). The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies shall not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was a high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Students of the public school system are told that dress codes are here to prepare students for outside job responsibilities and most notably, to promote self respect. However, dress codes target young girls by telling them if they are wearing a certain top or type of pants, they are not respecting themselves. This is a PG way of saying that boys will be boys , so if they get distracted by your shoulders or legs, then it is the females fault because she should have known to not wear something so provocative. This lesson that has sent home hundreds of girls from school is dangerous. Every time a girlis sent home, a negative message is passed along that the femalebody is only a distraction and that a males education is more important than a females . As a result of this, I have created WAC. Women Against Codes is an organization devoted to helping young girls and supporters speak their minds and ending dress codes. My organization is here to end the learning of the idea that women are not subject to respect based upon what they wear, female bodies are sexual no matter of the circumstance, and that women do not have a sexuality of their own and if they do, it is purely for a man s own benefit. Additionally, the typeface of the LuLu text is fancier with its decorative serifs and swirly tails than the other typefaces on that poster and on the Ringling poster.
