College students have mixed feelings about life post graduationrhianna816
The job market is becoming increasingly competitive, forcing students to strategically choose majors that will lead to success after graduation. While some students feel confident that their education is preparing them for the job market, others feel pressure to stand out and take unpaid internships. The challenging job market and high cost of tuition mean that students continue pushing themselves academically in hopes of achieving post-graduation success, though technical skills may matter less than people skills.
The purpose of this presentation is to share how I often use drawing in my classes to help me and my students to review their feelings toward the course topic.
In the slides that follow, I share how my students in an advanced course on English grammar depicted their initial feelings through drawing and how I intend for them to use those drawings in future assignments.

PhD research on evacuation optimization (Huibregtse)flmkessels
This document summarizes a PhD project that aims to optimize evacuation route instructions considering uncertainty and human compliance behavior. The project develops a more efficient computational method using a fixed-point approach that decomposes the complex optimization problem into simpler sub-problems involving route guidance optimization, traffic flow simulation, and an approximated behavior model. A case study applies the method to hypothetically evacuate 120,000 residents from a flood in Walcheren over 6 hours, showing the fixed-point approach maintains solution quality while substantially reducing computational time compared to an undecomposed approach.
