In general concrete construction, we have seen that whatever the elements cast (beams, columns, slabs etc.) Require time for setting. This is a long drawn process necessary for hardening of concrete. However, nowadays in large scale projects, newer methods of faster construction are being explored. Fast and efficient construction of the concrete core of a building is essential to maintain phased progress on other parts of the building. Formwork is one of the most important factors in determining the success of a construction project in terms of speed, quality cost and safety of work as it accounts about 40% of the total project cost of the structure. To minimize the costs the contractor needs to complete the project as soon as possible and the client wants the building to use the building as early as possible for the intended purpose. In building construction the most efficient way to speed up the work is by achieving a very short floor cycle. That directly depends on the selected form work type for the construction.

The main outcome of this project is the construction sequence of HMR which primarily starts with excavation, erection of piers, launching girder process and assembling of segments. This project clearly gives a brief knowledge on how the post tensioning and pre stressing works are held at off site and onsite. This project enlightens about the safety requirements and measures taken during the pre-casting works and at on site works.
Shortcreting has proved to be the best method for construction of curved surfaces. Domes are now much easier to construct with the advent of shotcrete technology. Tunnel linings are also becoming easy with this technology. Not only are these but there a wide range of applications where this technology has been a leading one. This technical paper includes the concept of shotcrete and how it differs from conventional concrete. It also enumerates the different types of process involved in shotcreting i.e. dry mix process and wet mix process. Advantages of shotcrete and its applications in various fields like tunneling, canals, buildings etc. are specified in detail. This paper presents an overview of shotcreting technology along with its applications.
DEFINITION OF SHOTCRETE:-
Shotcrete is a mortar or high performance concrete conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a backing surface. It is the force of this spraying action that leads to compaction of the concrete or mortar which then forms layers of concrete to the required thickness. Shotcreting has been an acceptable way of placing cementitious material in a variety of applications.
Usually patented polypropylene fibers are included in the shotcrete which increases the cohesive nature of the shotcrete through mechanically binding the cementitious materials together. This mechanism reduces the rebound waste that occurs through the shotcreting process and these fibers also resist plastic shrinkage and cracking through their ability to enhance the early stage tensile strength of concrete.
Shotcrete also gives better surface finishes and reduces surface tearing on non- linear sections. Cementitious material containing the poly propylene fibers resist cycles of freezing and thawing and also reduces the chances of water and chemical penetrations.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

6. Precast concrete is a construction product produced by casting
concrete in a reusable mold or "form" which is then cured in a
controlled environment, transported to the construction site and
lifted into place ("tilt up").
6
Concrete elements, cast and cured in a manufacturing plant,
then transported to the construction site. • Plant casting allows
increased efficiency and higher quality control. • Durable,
permanent steel forms are reused many times, reducing
formwork costs compared to sitecast concrete. • Use of Type III,
high early strength cement and steam curing allow concrete
members to be cast and cured in as little as 24 hours. •
Controlled casting conditions and high quality forms allow for
greater control of surface finishes.
7. Very rapid speed of erection
Good quality control
Entire building can be precast-walls,
floors,beams,etc.
Rapid construction on site
High quality because of the controlled
conditions in the factory
Prestressing is easily done which can reduce
the size and number of the structural members.
7
8. MANUFACTURING UNIT(MU)- It is the place where all the
elements of the buildings are Precasted under a control
environment.(these elements includes-
BEAMS,COLUMNS,SLABS,RETAINING WALLS etc.)
CONSTRUCTION SITE- Place where the flats were under
construction. The elemnts manufactured in MU get transported and
assembled at the construction site as per the drawings.
BATCHING PLANT AND QUALITY ASSUARANCE
LAB- In the batching plant, concrete is produced and the
material is tested in the quality assurance lab to assure that the
material is suitable for use or not.
8
10. CASTING OF SLABS- Slabs moulds(frame) are prepared as per the
specification(drawings), reinforcement is placed and then concrete is
poured into the frame and is allowed to attain its compressive strength for
the duration of 28 days.
TRANSPORTATION OF SLABS- Precasted slabs are then loaded on the
conveyor through crane(capacity-15 tonne) and is transported to the site.

11. PRECASTING AT LOW TEMPERATURE
11
It is that time of the year when cold weather plays an immense role
in the procedures, requirements and practices that encompass
precast concrete production. For manufacturers in the warmer
climates, cold-weather concreting is not so much of a concern, but it
is better to be prepared for extreme climatic conditions.
12. SPOT WELDING
12
Resistance spot welding
(RSW) is a process in which
contacting metal surface
points are joined by the heat
obtained from resistance to
electric current.
Work-pieces are held together under
pressure exerted by electrodes.
Typically the sheets are in the 0.5 to 3
mm (0.020 to 0.118 in) thickness
range. The process uses two shaped
copper alloy electrodes to concentrate
welding current into a small "spot" and
to simultaneously clamp the sheets
together.
13. A corrosion inhibitor is a chemical
compound that, when added to a liquid or gas,
decreases the corrosion rate of a material,
typically a metal or an alloy. The effectiveness of
a corrosion inhibitor depends on fluid
composition, quantity of water, and flow
regime. A common mechanism for inhibiting
corrosion involves formation of a coating, often
a passivation layer, which prevents access of the
corrosive substance to the metal. Permanent
treatments such as chrome platingare not
generally considered inhibitors, however.
Instead corrosion inhibitors are additives to the
fluids that surround the metal or related object.
Concentration used: 600ml per kg of
cement.
13
16. RETAINING WALL
16
A retaining wall is a structure designed and constructed to
resist the lateral pressure of soil, when there is a desired
change in ground elevation that exceeds the angle of repose of
the soil.
17. RAFT FOOTING DDA SUMMER INTERSHIPVID_20180626_111925.3gp
17
Raft foundations (sometimes known as Mat Foundations) are a
large concrete slab which can support a number of columns and walls.
The slab is spread out under the entire building or at least a large part
of it which lowers the contact pressure compared to the traditionally
used strip or trench footings.
18. P.C.C(PLAINCEMENT CONCRETE)DDA SUMMER
INTERSHIPVID_20180614_120708.3gp
18
Plain cement concrete (PCC) is used to provide rigid impervious bed
to RCC in foundation where the earth is soft and yielding. PCC can be used
over brick flat soling or without brick flat soling.
THICKNESS OF P.C.C- 150mm
PLACING AND COMPACTION OF PCC:
Make sure brick soling/sand bed level for PCC is ok.
Make form work for PCC with wooden plank as per specified dimenSions.
Clean dust or foreign or loose earth from concreting area.
Spread polythene over the bed of PCC.
Make level pillars of fresh concrete in the area at suitable intervals but not
more than 2m c/c both ways.
Place the concrete gently (don’t through) from one side. Use the mixed
concrete within 45 minutes after the water is added.
Use wooden rammer for compaction and finishing of PCC.
Make the surface of PCC roughen for joining future work before the
concrete become harden.
19. FOOTING
19
The isolated footing is one of the most popular and simplest types of
foundation used worldwide. An isolated footing is used to support a single
column. Isolated footings are independent footings which are provided for
each column. This type of footing is used when. Columns are not closely
spaced.
21. SCREEDING
21
A floor screed is usually a cementitious material made from a 1:3 or 1:4.5
ratio of cement to sharp sand. It may be applied onto either a solid in-situ
concrete ground floor slab or onto a precast concrete floor unit. There are
many proprietary screeds on the market and information about these can be
obtained from the manufacturer.
23. PROBLEM:- if the drawing get revised for the new position of
column and the raft get casted, then the column reinforcement coming
out of raft is curtained and isolated foundation is perpared for the
column at the new position above the raft specified by the revised
drawing.
23
24. BATCHING PLANT
24
A concrete plant, also known as a batch plant or batching plant or a
concrete batching plant, is equipment that combines various ingredients
to form concrete. Some of these inputs include water,
air, admixtures, sand, aggregate (rocks, gravel, etc.), fly ash, silica fume, slag,
and cement.
26. •Describe the quality program and organization to be implemented
so that the project is constructed in accordance with the contract
requirements and industry standards.
•Describe guidelines for inspection and documentation of
construction activities.
•Provide reasonable assurance that the completed work will meet
or exceed the requirements of the construction drawings and
specifications.
26
Need For Quality Control And Assurance In
Construction:
•Concern for project managers.
•Even minor defects in constructed facilities can cause heavy loss.
•Quality control during construction consists largely of insuring conformance
to these original design and planning decisions.
31. Learned to read structural and architectural
drawings.
Gained basic knowledge in the field of
construction.
