Module 2
Discussion Board
What are you supposed to do?
 With each discussion board you are to explain IN YOUR OWN WORDS the
answers to the given questions.
 Please use complete sentences and be clear in your answer. You don’t have to
use big or fancy words. Explain it to me the way you would in a math
classroom.
 The discussion board for module 2 is one that students don’t always
understand what it is asking so I am going to walk you through what I am
looking for.
What to do…
 First open the word file and save it to your computer.
Question #1
 This question show you 2 graphs and asked what the differences are between
an equation an inequality
 In your answer, just tell me how you can look at these 2 graphs and tell which
one is an inequality and which one is an equation.
 Yes, it is that simple.
Question #2
 The question gives you 2 situations in ‘verbal form.’ It wants to know the
differences between inequality and equality.
 Here is what you need to answer, “When you have a word problem what tells
you it is an equation? What tells you it is an inequality?”
 What are the key words you see with each?
Question #3
 This problem gives you 2 expressions in written form. What are the
differences?
 Don’t make this one hard. When you see these examples how do you know
which one is an inequality and which one is an equation?
 What is the key difference you see?
