What Makes a Great Ebook Cover?
1. It strongly represents the subject matter. There should be no doubt
what type of book you’ll be reading once you get to the first page.
2. It grabs the attention of the target audience. Readers should
recognize their favorite subject in the design, whether it’s true crime,
biography, sci-fi or romance.
3. It's well executed. Illustrations, photos, typography, etc. should not
distract or look amateurish. It must be understandable and readable in a
variety of sizes.
4. It's distinctive. It should offer something surprising, or pique a potential
reader's curiosity.
5. It's memorable. A great ebook cover will stand out on an online
bookstore and will, in effect, represent that work.

  • 39. What Makes a Great Ebook Cover? 1. It strongly represents the subject matter. There should be no doubt what type of book you’ll be reading once you get to the first page. 2. It grabs the attention of the target audience. Readers should recognize their favorite subject in the design, whether it’s true crime, biography, sci-fi or romance. 3. It's well executed. Illustrations, photos, typography, etc. should not distract or look amateurish. It must be understandable and readable in a variety of sizes. 4. It's distinctive. It should offer something surprising, or pique a potential reader's curiosity. 5. It's memorable. A great ebook cover will stand out on an online bookstore and will, in effect, represent that work.
