Today the production team added arguing scenes to the music video and inserted a TV static effect before and after the argument scenes. They also added a special effect. For the next lesson, they will take inspiration from the kaleidoscope effect in Little Boots' music video for "Remedy" as they add more special effects, as well as the title and artist name.
Production of music video: Day 11
Today the production team re-shot argument scenes at Rojal's house for a music video. They were successful in finishing filming and getting a variety of shots and angles. They improved the quality by using a tripod, natural lighting, more enthusiastic acting, and projecting voices clearly, as advised previously. Their next steps are inserting footage, adding jump cuts, finishing layering footage, and adding special effects.
Day 2 filming
The film crew shot slow motion footage of skateboarders doing tricks at Stratford Centre for a music video. They initially struggled to film the skateboarders because their camera movements were too static. They solved this by having an ex-student film while skateboarding, which captured better shots. The costume and location choices were also successful - the skaters wore normal skateboarding clothes and the urban location felt authentic, though it was crowded so they had to be careful with the camera.

Day 3 filming
- 1. PRODUCTION OF MUSIC VIDEO: DAY THREE KADIJA RICHARDS
- 2. BARBICAN CENTRE At the Barbican centre we took shots of Shenaya lip syncing for the base tracks. At the centre’s estate we went to the underground car park for dancing shots base tracks and a time lapse.
- 3. OVERALL REFLECTION I think that the shots that were taken today went really well, Shenaya was very enthusiastic and got into the lip syncing which made the performance seem natural and made filming easier and enjoyable. During the dancing shots we included as much movement as we could to make sure it wasn’t static – at all.
- 4. REFLECTION ON SUCCESSFULNESS The costume that Shenaya was wearing was successful because not only did it link with the black & white casual feel, but it was also comfortable which made it easy for her to dance in. Furthermore, although she has an outfit change the outfit still links with her previous outfits that she has had on. The Barbican centre was a successful location because the areas we decided to film wasn’t too crowded and we got a lot of single shots of Shenaya. Also we have a lot of different lighting and angles throughout the shots that we have taken today. In terms of improvement we could’ve had night shots at the Barbican so that we had a contrast of day and night in our video. But this idea is still being thought through.
