However, some footage was deemed in need of reshoots, specifically dancing shots lacking movement and Barbican shots where the performer seemed less energetic. As no cameras were available on the desired reshoots date, it was decided that reshoots would use personal HD cameras on the following day off instead.

Day 5 filming plan

Filming production

However, the production was able to overcome many of these challenges through solutions like a camera mount, improved lighting and acting for reshoots. One pan shot in particular turned out well during editing.
Problems, issues and successes
The filming had some initial problems. When filming at night, they only had a small torch for lighting, making shots dark. Some shots from the camera were wobbly. When filming in a car, it had to be slowed down during playback to make the dialogue audible, making the shot look crude. On reshoots, the lighting and acting were improved.
Music Video shoot
My group filmed a music video for the song "USSR" by Rejjie Snow over two days in London locations. On the first day they filmed scenes in Brick Lane and Oxford Street using a Canon DSLR camera, tripod, stabilizer and Bluetooth speakers to play the track. The second day they finished filming in Brick Lane, where they experienced some disturbances but overall found the area clear to film. They gained permission to film on private property during the shoot. The music video took 9 hours total to film over the two days, and the actors arrived on time and learned their lyrics properly.
Alterations
The filmmakers made several changes to their music video plans during production. They had to re-film performance footage with a new band after scheduling issues with the original band. They also increased the amount of performance shots to be more appropriate for the genre. The location was changed from a field in town to one near the school for easier access. Finally, they shortened the song length by over a minute to have enough compelling footage to cover the song in the allotted time.
Final evaluation
The document provides an evaluation of a music video created for the song "Infinity" by Infinity Ink. The video was shot over three days and edited in Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects. It was a narrative dance music video set in the 1980s sportswear style to recreate a 1990s rave scene. Unique camera angles like mounting the camera on the floor were used. The group then filmed scenes at the local post office, a character's house, and his grandfather's house near the stadium. They also filmed pickup shots at the stadium before a match. Additional filming at a character's house went smoothly with drama student actors. A bedroom scene was later refilmed from a different angle for continuity.
Making the necessary improvements to our work

Production Diary
The film crew realized that wind noise overwhelmed dialogue in some of their footage. They had received feedback that audio was muffled in their preliminary work. To address this, they tried recording dialogue separately but found it unrealistic. They then returned to the woods with a boom mic to rerecord dialogue clearly while maintaining consistent mise-en-scene and lighting.
Reflecting on filming...
The filming was largely successful, though some weather issues caused minor delays. Shooting took place at Luke's house, Hyde Park, and Mile End Skatepark over multiple days. Most scenes were completed ahead of schedule, apart from interference from passersby and animals in the park. The only error was a continuity mistake with a dancer's coat between two shots in Hyde Park. Overall the filming went well and the video is now in the editing stage.
Day of filming
The film crew had to make some changes to their music video filming plans on the day of shooting. They rescheduled shots that required long travel to a different day due to time constraints. Additionally, they sought out creative improvised shots on location beyond what was in their original storyboard. These unplanned shots included scenes through glass and barriers at an arcade, and an engraving in the sand at the beach that connected to the song's theme. Flooding also required changing the train station location, where additional improvised shots were captured, in keeping with the band's style.
How we created a remake of Lorde's Royals
The students decided to recreate a scene from Lorde's music video for "Royals" because they liked its minimalist style and simple editing techniques. They storyboarded shots to mimic those from the original video but had to modify their plan during filming due to location constraints. The students shot footage of their actress lip syncing to the song in a classroom using one camera on a tripod and a lighting box. They edited the clips in iMovie to match the timing of the song, facing challenges in lighting, location finding, and syncing the audio with the video footage.
Evaluation
Oliver summarized his research for an art gallery exhibition documentary. While limited to the gallery's website, it provided good information. Jack conducted primary and secondary audience research through social media analytics and a survey to understand the target audience. Will animated an introduction video for the event. Adam filmed footage for the documentary and voiced the narration. Oliver was pleased with how the documentary turned out despite some challenging lighting and location issues. The event was a success with a good turnout and positive feedback.
Editing Last few days

They rushed filming and did not get a wide enough range of footage. On the third day, they filmed establishing shots around Eccles but it was rushed due to cold weather. In editing, they realized more connecting footage was needed, so on the fourth day they filmed in multiple locations to improve the narrative flow and got high quality shots

They improved the quality by using a tripod, natural lighting, more enthusiastic acting, and projecting voices clearly, as advised previously. Their next steps are inserting footage, adding jump cuts, finishing layering footage, and adding special effects.
Day four filming
Kadija was not present for the fourth day of shooting the music video. The group filmed Shenaya lip syncing and dancing in a tunnel next to a skate park. They aimed to capture shots that fit the beat of the music, and Shenaya danced well in time. However, they ran out of memory on the camera so Rojal had to use his instead. The tunnel location was very successful with an uncrowded space and graffiti backdrop fitting the urban theme of the music video.
Day 1 filming.

- 1. PRODUCTION OF MUSIC VIDEO: DAY 6 KADIJA RICHARDS
- 2. CITY AND ISLINGTON SIXTH FORM In todays lesson we carried on editing our music video.
- 3. OVERALL REFLECTION Editing went well in todays lesson as we got a lot done. We inserted the rest of our footage then added the markers to the footage – we made sure that all the markers were accurate and in time. Although the editing went well, we thought that some of the footage could be reshot…
- 4. RESHOOT FOOTAGE The footage that we will be reshooting are: • Dancing shots - we have decided to reshoot the dancing shots because we though that there weren’t enough movement in the shot. • Barbican shots – we have decided to reshoot the barbican shots because we thought that the performer didn’t seem as energetic as she was in the other shots.
- 5. RESOLVE PROBLEM There aren’t any cameras available to shoot on the 10th November so we have decided to shoot these shots with mine & Rojal’s HD cameras. We will be shooting on the 11th November, which is a day off.
