This is a story of agile adoption outside of the traditional environment of agile teams. The eDash program faced a number of challenges, including the need to make sure that principals and teachers in remote communities had a voice in the priorities of the project. Similarly, it was vital to make sure that the solution developed would be enthusiastically adopted by educators across the Northern Territory. This was an organisation new to agile and under pressure to deliver from within and externally.
Despite these and many other hurdles the NT Education department, partnering with Aginic, have delivered a product that has generated excitement amongst the NT teaching community and has already begun bringing about small positive improvements to education across the territory.
We will be sharing our lessons learned and our success stories in bringing about a shift in mindset that allowed NT Education to embrace a new way of working and achieve such a fantastic outcome for teachers and principals.

Population and Public Health Branch of Saskatoon Health Region deployed improvement methods to develop a comprehensive strategy to improve outcomes for small children ages 0 to 5. The Early Years Health and Development Strategy (EYHDS) team comprised of 5 front line staff and an improvement consultant worked intensively over three months (Feb, Mar, and April, 2012) to Define, Measure and Analyze the opportunity for improvement and generated 25 recommendations. The result was a set of related recommendations for health planners, governments and community organizations. The presentation will demonstrate how improvement methods can be used effectively in community based health promotion areas of health care.

Cooking skills are critical for achieving health and sustainable dietary goals and yet they are in general decline in the UK. Community based cooking skills projects that aim to fill this skills gap are also in decline due to cut backs in public funding. Since cooking skills projects are diverse in scope (i.e. target group, model of intervention and intended outcome) and there is a lack of centralised support for them at the national level (in England); standards and requirements demanded by those commissioning them at the local level can vary and be unrealistic.

Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
