 Many people were hanged and one man was
crushed by stones due to the mass hysteria

5.  20 slaves started an uprising for freedom by
bursting into a store near the Stono river and
stealing guns/ammo
 The group grew in numbers until they were
intercepted by the South Carolina militia, the
state which then passed an act restricting slave
assembly and movement.

6.  Bacon’s Rebellion: based on class tensions
because the govt. would not make
improvements for poor farmers
 Salem Trials: based on religious and gender
issues; strong-willed women were targeted by
Puritan men who thought they should be
subservient.

7.  Pueblo Revolt: A religious issue; the Indians
did not want christianity forced upon them
 Stono Rebellion: a slave rebellion. Simply had
to do with slaves fighting for freedom with
violence and being put down.

8.  While Bacon’s rebellion reflected the tensions
between class in the new world, the Salem with
trials portrayed the religious and social
tribulations and worries that came with new
colonial society in the late 17th century America.
