Benjamin Hooks, was an American civil rights leader. A Baptist minister and practicing for the Advancement of Colored People from 1977 to 1992, and throughout his career was a vocal campaigner for civil rights in the United States.
Robert Lee Hayes, nicknamed “Bullet Bob”, was an Olympic gold medalist sprinter who then became an American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. Bob Hayes is the only athlete to win both an Olympic gold medal and Super Bowl ring.

Dr. Rodney Hurst and his wife, NAACP President Mr. Ben Jealous, Arnett E. Girardeau (Jacksonville Civil Right Leader), was an African American dentist and former politician in the state of Florida. He die at the age of 88. He was the first African-American elected outside of Miami since Reconstruction. He served as Senate President Pro Tempore from 1988-1990 and a founding member of the Florida Conference of Black State Legislators.
