Position: Sub County Coordinator
Responsibilities:
 Programmatic and administrative support leadership in the planning and Implementation of the HIV
Prevention Interventions in the Sub County.
 Prepare and submit budgets, regular work plans for the activities within the district and ensure that
scheduled activities are implemented as set out in the work plans.
 Identify operational constraints and design innovative strategies to bring about implementation
improvements to ensure set targets are achieved.
 Prepare and submit detailed weekly, monthly and annual progress reports of activities .
 Represent the organization in multi-sectoral meetings with County and Sub County HMT, County officials,
community leaders and other implementing partners at County level.
 Conduct regular field visits, support supervision and monitoring of all HIV program activities to ensure
quality service provision.
 Establish network/linkages with the County and Sub County HMT, NGOs, CBOs, FBOs and health facilities
operating in the County in order to develop and sustain effective and efficient referral system.
 Coordinate and facilitate capacity building workshops/trainings for MOH staff and other public health
stakeholders to improve knowledge and skills.
 Ensure that project funds are utilized transparently and transactions are documented and traceable, and
monitor stores activities to ensure proper supplies management.
 Ensure that all supplies are available as and when needed in the District.
 Safeguard and manage all the project assets including vehicles, chairs, computers, printers etc to the best of

 Organize and facilitate Community Stakeholders planning workshops and trainings to increase research
literacy of the community and build the capacity of the Community Advisory Boards (CABs).
 Establish network with the NGOs, CBOs, FBOs and health facilities operating in the District in order to
develop and sustain effective and efficient referral system.
 Develop Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials on FEM-PrEP Clinical trial and Conduct
community awareness and education on the clinical trial.

 Carrying out a survey on facilities for laboratory monitoring of ARV use in various VCT centers within
Kisumu District and Municipality.
 Administering knowledge Attitude and Practices (KAP) based questionnaires and writing reports based on
field activities.
 Designing comprehensive HIV/AIDS training curriculum for Community Health Workers (CHWs).
 Creating HIV/AIDS awareness with emphasis on VCT and PMTCT clinic attendance as an important entry
point for preventive interventions among rural community in Western Kenya.
 Community mobilization to attend Public Health Education seminars organized by the project.
 Development of Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials and training plan for Opinion
leaders on various issues related to HIV/AIDS.
