David Hockney is a British artist born in 1937 in Bradford, Yorkshire. He studied art in Bradford and at the Royal College of Art in London. Hockney helped establish Pop art in the 1960s and is known for his work in painting, printmaking, photography, and set design. In recent years, Hockney has lived in East Yorkshire where he paints landscapes from the local area, including Woldgate Woods near his home.
