David Hockney was a British artist born in 1937 who studied at art schools in Bradford and London and was part of the Pop art movement. He lived and worked in California for many years before moving back to East Yorkshire, England, where he has been painting landscapes for the last few years, including works depicting the arrival of spring in Woldgate.
