This document discusses ways to scale a service business. It provides three main ways:
1. Productize services by transforming them into standardized products that can be offered to more clients.
2. Automate manual operations using software and automated systems to replace human labor.
3. Minimize "monkey job" activities that do not require expertise by focusing on more intellectual parts of the service.
It then provides examples and recommendations for each way, such as creating educational products, using chatbots for automation, and shifting from basic website design to branding and communications strategies.
Expanding to upstream and downstream thinking for amazing end-to-end experiencesJay Brewer

If you want to understand how to make old experiences seem continually new, and new experiences that help your customers achieve their goals with your product, we'll give you great examples on upstream and downstream UX thinking and ways to apply it to your work.

Nordic SaaS HUG The Biggest Takeaways from INBOUND 22.pdfSigneBjrklund
Get the biggest takeaways from this year's INBOUND conference hosted by HubSpot.
For this event, we have gathered the biggest takeaways relevant for B2B SaaS companies to share with you.
This year’s big theme was “Connectivity”. Today, we have so many systems to navigate and so much data that it is almost impossible not to create any friction between them. So how do we make sure to create as little as possible to secure clean data? That, we’ll touch upon and also how HubSpot’s new toolbox can work as your very own data quality center.
There is also exciting news in terms of new product launches. We can reveal that HubSpot is (finally) rolling out a beta for Customer Journey Mapping. With Customer Journey Mapping, you can attribute and analyze the complex buyer’s journey through your marketing and sales activities - with all your HubSpot data. We have been waiting forever for this one and we can’t wait to play around with it.

Dave’s current passion is demystifying progressive delivery, especially the ways it enables better outcomes by removing constraints and building-in feedback loops.
Speech Overview:
We build pipelines to automate processes and minimize human toil. Have you applied this same approach to how you expose new features to users and measure the impact? Progressive delivery may be relatively new as a term, but the underlying practices of progressive experimentation (where features are gradually rolled out to users and statistical engines are used to detect impact during the rollout instead of after) are not.
We’ll discuss the layers, and benefits, from the foundation up.

Our experience of using Kubeflow for implementing CD4ML for the manufacturing area based on Azure Kubernetes service will be described in this speech.

If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

3. Three ways to scale a service business
0
1
Productize your services
Transform your service into a product and
open almost unlimited possibility to grow the
business.
0
2
Automation
Replacing manual operations with automated
systems and software.
0
3
Minimize monkey-job activities
Work on refocusing your business on highly
intellectual parts of the service and minimize
monkey job.
4. Become a product
01
● Get something you use internally and start
offering it to your clients. (Basecamp).
● Transform your manual job into a standardized
automated job (Semalt).
● Use your knowledge and expertise to create an
educational product. (Digital Marketer).
Note: Do not try to create consulting-ware
5. Service Automation
02
If we add more people - it is not scaling. It is just expanding
our resources..
Some advices:
● Warn your customers that this is a machine. Example:
chat bots.
● Do not automate the part where is your personal
brand..
● Think how you would deal with VIP clients.
6. Minimize monkey jobs
03
The higher scale the service is - the less monkey job we get.
Some examples:
● From website design to branding and
communications.
● From link-building to SEO strategy.
● From construction to tech. supervising.
7. Never use “per hour” model
● Pay per project
● Pay per result (success fee)
● Subscription model
● Any other hybrid model
9. Remove friction points
1
HR and recruitment system.
Very detailed job descriptions, transparent
open policy for compensations.
2
Detailed Services Blueprint Maps
With them you can easily identity where to
improve and how to improve and scale.
3
Business process mapping
Service standards, sales standards,
communication policy, conflict resolution
policies.
4
Service boundaries
Very detailed description of edge cases and
corner cases for each service.
Try to avoid taking orders on hardly
scalable services.
