• Genre Is a style or a category of a film or a
magazine. You can delve even further into
genre and find films which are a Hybrid Genre.
• An example of a film genre would be
something like horror which contains films like
The Conjuring.

3. My Chosen genre
• The genre I’m going to be venturing into is
horror.

4. Representation of Males in Horror
• Males in horror are usually represented as a
protective kind who takes a leadership role
upon the situation that arises, Or the one who
rescues the damsel in distress from the killer
or ‘Monster’.
• Taking 28 days later for example

5. Representation of Females in Horror
• Females usually depict a damsel in distress but
can sometimes take on carol clovers theory of
femme fetal, where the female becomes our
identifiable protagonist and continues through
out the film
• An example of this could be The Decent.

6. What I’m going to take into account
• From my research into what is genre I’ve
learnt quite a few things about what I’m going
to need to include in my horror film for it to
succeed, first of a male protagonist with the
aim of surviving and a method of completing
something.
