Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath, painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. He was born in 1452 in Vinci, Italy and died in 1519. Some of his most famous works include the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and Lady with an Ermine. He worked in Florence and Milan in Italy as well as France. Da Vinci made important contributions in the fields of anatomy, astronomy, botany, cartography, painting, and science.
