GDC 2013: Peer-to-Peer Gaming using Intel(R) Common
Connectivity Framework and Sensor Technologies

Intel Corporation in conjunction with Confetti Games, Inc. showcased a peer-to-peer helicopter
battle game called Blackfoot Blade at booth #13 within the Intel Pavilion at the Moscone Center
South from March 27-29. The attendees were able to experience the game using two Lenovo
Ideapad Yoga 13′s (3rd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 Processor). What made this gaming
experience unique to the ISV (Independent Software Vendors) community (e.g. game developers,
application developers, etc.) who were mostly present at the convention was the ability to:
1) Play in HD (Hi-Def) graphics using the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
2) Play using a combination of Touch-Screen and Tiltometer/Inclinometer Sensors (courtesy of
Intel Sensor APIs and Microsoft Sensor Fusion APIs, etc.)
3) Discover other people in proximity who also have the same game installed (courtesy of the
Intel(R) Common Connectivity Framework which is a middleware)
4) Make the peer-to-peer wireless connection (courtesy of the Intel(R) Common Connectivity
Framework) using Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.
