Multiplication Network Ministries is an international faith-based nonprofit that equips
indigenous leaders to plant churches within their denomination. As Advancement Director, my
duties are to coordinate and facilitate the agency’s mission in the areas of advancement
services – donor acquisition and stewardship throughout the Midwest.
08/14 – 06/15 Trinity Lutheran Church, Nashville IL Vacancy Pastor
Trinity Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod is the tenth largest congregation in the
Southern Illinois District. Here, my duties included preaching, teaching and leading worship at
the church, school and several facilities for seniors.
03/13 – 06/14 Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Edmond OK Pastoral Intern
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod is the largest congregation of its
denomination in Oklahoma. In addition to preaching, teaching and leading worship, I created
an active senior ministry that included educational speakers, health clinics, fellowship outings
and visits to church members who were either homebound or institutionalized.
• Established on-site visits by Concordia Health Systems
• Secured free flu shots for elderly and indigent by Walgreens Pharmacy
• Organized educational trips to Oklahoma Museum of Art and Western Heritage Museum

11/11 – 02/13 World Neighbors, Oklahoma City OK Annual Giving Manager
World Neighbors focuses on training and educating communities to find permanent
solutions to their challenges – hunger, poverty and disease – rather than giving them food,
money or constructing buildings. As Annual Giving Manager, I effectively managed the annual
giving program directed at individuals, congregations and organizations, utilizing direct mail,
internet giving, workplace giving and commemorative gifts. I identified and cultivated
annual donors and moved them into major gifts donors. Notable accomplishments include:
• Implemented Moves Management plan to advance donors to major giving circles and
to consider planned giving as an additional option of support
• Executed an outreach plan into faith and business community to increase
awareness of World Neighbors and secured revenue from organizations and individuals
• Secured public speaking engagements through prospect calls to groups of 50+,
including OSU, OCU and before district meetings of religious leaders and pastors
• Enrolled 100% of staff into World Neighbors Employee Giving Opportunities

2. 06/08 – 09/11 Berkeley Food and Housing Project, Berkeley CA Director of
Development
Founded in 1970, BFHP is the largest homeless services provider in the East Bay,
providing more than 150,000 meals and securing permanent housing for more than 300 families
annually. Most of its 2,000 clients suffer from mental health and/or physical disabilities. It
accomplished this on a $3.3M budget by leveraging community support. As its Director of
Development and one of five senior staff, I was responsible for all private fundraising, in-
kind goods and services, volunteerism, media and public relations (corporate,
government, community) and events. Major gifts portfolio was 300. Accomplishments:
• Increased annual revenues by 38% over targeted budget over 3 consecutive years from
Individuals, Corporations and Foundations
• Identified, cultivated and secured gifts from Major and Planned Giving Donors
o Established Circle of Caring from 300 top-tier donors
o Surpassed Major Donor Challenge Grant goals over 3 consecutive years
o Raised public awareness of planned giving resulted in estate gift of $50K
annually
o Created and promoted stock policy resulted in increased multiple stock donations
• Authored Quarterly Appeals, Semiannual Newsletters and Redesigned Brochures

Founded by Dr. Benjamin Spock and staffed by Mr. Fred Rogers, I became the first
Development Director in AFCC’s 55-year history. I established a scholarship fund for low-

from Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby which we auctioned at our golf outing.

Established in 1979, Jubilee Soup Kitchen is Pittsburgh’s ardent servant of the poor in
the city’s most impoverished neighborhood. As Director of Development and Outreach, I also
recruited volunteers, and served on the Board. My most successful accomplishment was
securing a $200,000 grant for the purchase and renovation of a four-story pantry and office.
• Authored semiannual appeals resulted in surpassing revenue budget
• Managed grants and Capital Campaign for building purchase and renovation
o Secured grant from Heinz Foundation to complete project

Having served more than 20 years as a parish priest, pastor and chaplain, I learned
