This is a short presentation of the purpose, goals, mission and activities of the Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta - along with information about how you can get involved.
My resume will show you the variety and extent of my experiences. In having directed, trained, taught, preached, spoken to large gathering and small groups, counseled, created and implemented ideas and programs and worked with youth of all ages I have learned as much as I have taught. I have experienced and learned the value of both ministering as part of team as well as initiating programs on my own. I have listened and learned the heartaches and difficulties facing families as I worked with parents to strengthen the family unit and young people to improve their relationship with parents and siblings. I have occupied the pulpit for Sunday services, performed weddings and officiated at funerals seeing both the good and hard side of ministry. I have learned the importance of agreement in vision and submission to authority in ministry as well as the heavy responsibilities and accountability that accompany the office of pastor and teacher. Believing, salvation is available to all who receive the teaching of forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus Christ with a willingness to apply this in a personal way while seeking God’s forgiveness for sin, restores fellowship with God, and has allowed me to participate in ministry across like-minded denominations in many meaningful ways over the years.

Mission Statement: To share God-given relationship skills with moms, dads,
husbands and wives to strengthen their relationship with Jesus, themselves and
one another.
June 2008 to August 2013
Mountainbrook Community Church, San Luis Obispo, CA
Director of Adult Ministries
My best work involves creating an environment for learning that promotes the spiritual growth and education
for the families of the church. Classes, activities and community outreach throughout the year focus on
strengthening family relationships with special emphasis on premarital counseling, nurturing marriages and
supporting parents with practical resources and training. My strongest spiritual gift is teaching and I serve
others by providing life-coaching and guidance to those in need of marital, parenting, and premarital counsel.
Here’s where I invest my time:
• Develop ideas for innovative, practical learning like ‘round table’ discussions on how to keep you home
tech savvy and safe, quarterly ‘culture updates’ for parents of teens and mentor married couples answer
newly wed questions in an open mic Q&A potluck dinner.
• Teach classes providing practical Biblical relationship skills.
• Research spiritual/relational/educational resources to recommend to those with specific needs.
• Select appropriate curricula or class structures for educational programs.
• Identify, recruit, train, deploy and monitor volunteer leaders.
• Strategically plan and implement programs that further spiritual/ relational/educational opportunities
(i.e. seminars, special speakers)
• Collaborate with other ministry leaders to establish goals and objectives for spiritual/relational growth
and develop ways to encourage program participation.
Gatherings that have accomplished the above include:
• Six-week classes meeting once a week on:
o Parenting
o Marriage
o Premarital counseling
• Quarterly, three-hour spiritual formation class on how to study the Bible, how to develop a ‘quiet-
time’, why we need to prioritize tithing and the importance of getting connected in a small group.
• Church-wide family events providing opportunities for church members to invite friends, family and
neighbors to a non-threatening church event:
o Movie Night: outdoor event with a family-friendly movie projected on a big screen with
church ministries hosting popcorn, candy, drink concessions to fund raise for missions’
trips and other ministry opportunities. 150 attended.
o Bingo-Spaghetti Night: free spaghetti dinner followed by a night of bingo games with
prizes, participants were encouraged to bring donations of dry goods and other food items
for the church ‘helping hands pantry’. 150 attended.
• Community-wide events: Developed a city-wide marketing campaign to invite the community to the
church campus for events that included:
2. o Marriage/Parenting Conference: This day long event on church property included
numerous workshops taught by local ministry professionals including marriage and
parenting experts, licensed counselors, financial coaches and a national author and
speaker for the keynote message. This event was co-sponsored by and promoted on the
local Christian radio stations. 400 attended.
o Kite Day: The community is invited to the church property (60 acres on a hill) to enjoy a
day with the family, to bring a picnic and to ‘go fly a kite’. This daylong event is
promoted to the congregation as a great event to ‘invite your neighbor’. In attendance are
invited vendors including the local kite store. Church ministries were invited to host
concession stands to raise funds for missions trips or local social justice causes.
Community promotion included posters and flyers in the windows of local businesses.
This event was co-sponsored by and promoted on the local Christian radio stations. 200
attended.
