Profile
I am looking for a role as a Junior Developer in a medium to large company in order to further
my skills as a developer and better secure the future for my young family. After becoming
highly niched in the Quality Assurance of tobacco products, it was time for a change. I have
always loved creating new things through problem solving, which is why coding is such a
good fit. I am at the stage where I would like to get some solid mentorship to cement my
career through to being well thought of as an expert developer.

Junior Developer: Enspiral Dev Academy.
Learning the fundamentals of coding and IT development, studying at EDA,(a coding boot
camp), focusing on C# and JavaScript. EDA provide a 1000 hours course with equal measure
and encouragement to explore self knowledge and awareness. Through this dualism I feel
that as a EDA graduate I am ready both in soft and technical skills to continue on and learn
coding.

2. Quality Coordinator: Imperial Tobacco (NZ) Ltd.
Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Process Auditing, Quality Assurance, Quality

negotiations.
I have always been described as a good communicator, a problem solver, able to lead, to

Chef de Partie: Holiday Inn Wellington.
Preparation and service for a 50 seat Hotel kitchen with room service
Ability to communicate fluidly in a high­stress environment where English was everyones
second language but mine. Taught a few juniors (commis) how to cook 150 steaks a night so I
could have the odd night off.
September 2006 ­ November 2007
Chef de Partie: St Johns Heineken Hotel.
Preparation and service for a 70 seat restaurant and bar. Cut my teeth as a grill chef here.
Played a significant role in the menu design and customer satisfaction. Averaged 75 hours a
week. Enjoyed learning and experimenting with contemporary cuisine as had only been
cooking traditional Italian up until this point.

Ships Cook: DSFV Amatel Enterprize.
Sole charge of ordering, menu planning, costings, preparing and serving 3 meals a day to a
crew of 40 for six week voyages in the southern ocean fishing. Averaged a 115 hour week. No
fall back position, only me, my two hands the nous I put into the ordering (and 40 unforgiving
salty sea dogs for motivational purposes). My take­out from the experience is knowing exactly
what and where my limits lie, self reliance and how small personal sacrifices can add up to big
team wins.

Commis Chef: Maria Pia’s Trattoria.
Maria Pia’s is the only trattoria to have won the silver spoon outside of Italy and it was my
pleasure to work the entree and dessert station as we did. Working at Maria Pia’s was an
experience in experiences as no two days were the same. In the two and a bit years I worked
with Pia, I met famous people, learnt ‘the proper way to cook’ and a set of dynamically fluid
mindsets that I still use to this day.

Spent two years in wanderlust with my partner Charlotte. We worked together in many varied
Hospitality jobs throughout the UK, but spent most of our time at various public transport
depots waiting for the next train/bus/plane/ferry.
1994 ­ 2000
Laboratory / Development Technician British American Tobacco & Imperial Tobacco.
Various industry specific testing of cigarettes and tobacco for the NZ govt and tobacco
companies. Was responsible for the annual reporting to the government of the TAR and
nicotine levels in NZ produced cigarettes.
Education
Enspiral Dev Academy​ ­ 18 week intensive Bootcamp
An intensive 18 week program that covers the fundamentals of coding. I specialised in C# and
gained experience in coding both this, JavaScript, jQuery and touching on AngularJS. EDA
also focuses in on emotional empathy and improving performance by teaching it’s graduates
how to accelerate their learning.
London City and Guilds​ ­ I hold a Diploma in Cookery and Culinary Arts from London City
and Guilds which covers all aspects of professional cookery and was a part of the foundation
into the 7 years I spent as a professional chef.
