Synthesis and Characterization of Template Cr(III),Fe(III), Mn(II), Cd(II) an...IOSR Journals
A new series of tetradentate N2O2 acyclic complexes of type [M(L)X2]Xn where M = Mn(II), Cd, Cr(III) and Fe(III); L is tetradentate acyclic Schiff base formed via condensation reaction, and X = Cl-, n=1 for M(III), have been prepared on the basis of condensation of 2,6-diaminopyridine and 1,4-dihydro-quinoxalin-2, 3-dione by template method. The complexes are formulated as: [M(L)Cl]Cl where M=Cr, Fe(III),[MLCl2],MII=Mn, Cd(II) and [VOL]SO4 on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance and other spectral data. The organic moiety formed up on template condensation behaves as tetradentate N2O2 system through the two azomethine nitrogen atoms of –C=N- and the participation of O atoms of -C=O in 2-position of pyrazine ring. However, the pyridine nitrogen atom does not take part in coordination as confirmed by FTIR,UV-Visible and H NMR spectroscopy data. The newly template metal complexes have characterized with the help of various spectral techniques H NMR,13C NMR, F.T.I.R, elemental analyses, electronic spectra, molar conductivity measurements and magnetic susceptibilities. The octahedral geometry has been proposed for Cr(III),Fe(III), Mn (II) and Cd(II) while vanadyl complex was square pyramid configuration respectively

This document describes the synthesis and characterization of two new lanthanide-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) using pamoic acid as the organic ligand. Single crystal X-ray diffraction shows that the MOFs form three-dimensional frameworks with channels of different sizes depending on the lanthanide ion (Gd3+ or Dy3+). Magnetic measurements reveal one MOF acts as a cryogenic magnetic refrigerant while the other shows slow relaxation of magnetization. Adsorption studies show the MOFs selectively uptake CO2 over other gases and have high methanol vapor uptake. Photoluminescence properties indicate the MOFs are also photoluminescent materials.

The document provides background on hyaluronic acid, single molecule detection techniques like FCS, and the theoretical basis and applications of the 2f-FCS method. The experimental work aims to evaluate and validate the use of 2f-FCS
This document summarizes a study that investigated chromium-citrate and ferric-citrate complexes in aqueous solutions through potentiometric titration experiments. Specifically:
- Potentiometric titration curves showed inflection points, indicating the presence of dominant species for the Cr3+-citrate system. Analysis of the curves suggests the dominant species is a dimeric Cr3+-citrate complex.
- Speciation diagrams for the free citrate ligand agree with literature values. Ferric-citrate and Cr3+-citrate stability constants from literature also support dimer formation.
- The iron-citrate and chromium-citrate systems behaved similarly, both favoring dimeric metal-citrate complexes
This document summarizes three methods for preparing hollow metal-organic frameworks (MOFs): 1) the exterior-template method where templates are coated with MOF shells and then removed, 2) the self-template method where intermediate products or reactants act as sacrificial templates, and 3) the two-phase interface method using gas-liquid, liquid-liquid, or solid-liquid interfaces. It also discusses using hollow MOFs for drug delivery by loading drugs through immersion or one-pot synthesis and zinc-based MOFs for delivering 5-fluorouracil.
1) Researchers developed a method to controllably form grain boundary PbI2 nanoplates that passivate CH3NH3PbI3 and CH3NH3PbI2Br perovskite films.
2) The PbI2-passivated perovskite films were prepared via direct reaction of hydrohalide-deficient PbI2 xHI/Br precursors with CH3NH2 gas, followed by annealing.
3) The amount of PbI2 impurities could be controlled by adjusting the hydrohalide deficiency in the precursors. Solar cells made with the PbI2-passivated perovskites showed higher efficiencies than those without

Using various characterization and measurement techniques, they demonstrate that properties like hydrocarbon and alcohol diffusion can be continuously tuned over 2-3 orders of magnitude by varying the mixed-linker composition. This tunability allows mixed-linker ZIFs to
This document discusses research into the iron(II)- and 2-oxoglutarate-dependent halogenase SyrB2. The research aims to understand how SyrB2 positions its substrate for chlorination by incorporating cysteine residues into SyrB2 and its substrate carrier protein SyrB1. These cysteine variants will allow distance measurements using spin-labeling and electron magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Initial protein purification and expression testing of variants is being optimized. Once obtained, the variant proteins will help define how SyrB1 interacts with SyrB2 to precisely position the substrate for selective halogenation.
The document describes a study on the use of pyridine 2,6-dicarboxylic acid to spectrophotometrically determine manganese (II) ions in aqueous solution. The metal ion forms a stable pink colored complex with the ligand at pH 1.5-2.5. The complex has maximum absorbance at 500 nm and a 1:1 metal-ligand ratio. Beer's law is obeyed for Mn(II) concentrations of 50-225 μg/mL. The method was used to determine Mn(II) in synthetic samples.
Transport studies of metal ions using polymer inclusionsourabh muktibodh
Polymer inclusion membranes (PIMs) provide an effective method for separating metal ions using a polymer, carrier, and plasticizer. PIMs offer advantages over other membrane processes like bulk liquid membranes due to using negligible solvent quantities. Current research optimizes PIM composition and examines transport experiments. Common polymers like PVC and CTA are used with carriers like D2EHPA, Aliquat 336, and crown ethers to selectively transport ions. PIM morphology, selectivity, and the effects of parameters like pH and temperature on transport kinetics are areas of ongoing study. Future applications of PIMs include commercial separations in biotechnology, food processing, precious metal recovery, and environmental remediation.
This document summarizes a study that used powder X-ray diffraction at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility to analyze zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8). ZIF-8 samples were synthesized using different methods and their diffraction patterns were analyzed using Pawley and Rietveld refinement. Samples produced in DMF, ethanol and acetone produced high-quality ZIF-8 consistent with literature. Gas adsorption measurements showed the ZIF-8 unit cell expanded with increasing CO2 pressure, indicating CO2 occupied the pores without specific interactions. Theoretical calculations agreed with empirical findings. Further studies are suggested to fully remove solvent from pores and test different gases/mixtures.

Dissertation title: Modified cucurbit[n]urils: synthesis and supramolecular interactions.
Accomplishments: My Ph.D. dissertation comprised of four projects: two major independent and two
collaborative projects.
Major projects: Two new water soluble functionalized cucurbit[n]urils (A and B, CB[n], n = 6) were
synthesized, purified and characterized and their supramolecular interactions with organic guests were
studied. Binding modes of the macrocycle B (hexamethylcucurbit[6]uril, MeCB[6]) with viologen
guests (MeV2+
and MeV+
) in solution and solid state were determined. Macrocycle B exhibited strong
binding affinity toward MeV2+
guest (K = 105
M-1
) in pure water. 1
H NMR and UV-vis titration
experiments showed remarkable weakening of the B-MeV2+
complex in the presence of NaCl.
Synthesis of macrocycle A was the first example of substituted CB[6] with one substituent at the
methylene bridge position. New method of synthesis, isolation and purification was developed. The
results introduced a milestone concept in the chemistry of CB[n] compound and further extend its area
of application.
Collaborative projects: In one project, new method of deprotection of a propylene glycoluril dimer
(C) was introduced. In the second project, a CB[6] based supramolecular shuttle (rotaxane) was
constructed based on the complexation studies between CB[6] and a bispyridinium ethylene guest.
