Job Description
Responsible on a shift basis, for the following activities;
• Oversees maintenance work during plant or equipment shutdowns, which
includes initiating permit to work for maintenance personnel to go ahead
with the job. For comprehensive with safety procedures and precautions,
check the requirement PPE are worn and monitor work in progress
• Communicates with shift supervisor, panel operator and maintenance
crew for effectively completing any task related to maintenance of any
equipment, normal operation of any equipments and emergency.
• Understands and implements all safety procedures and permit to work
procedures to achieve highest safety standards.
• Experience in commissioning/ turn around in an oil and gas plant
• Monitors, operators field equipments in the section assign as per standard
operating procedure (SOP) to achieve budgeted production
• Take immediate action to stopping the equipment in extreme condition if
any abnormal conditions are noticed and inform the supervisor for
corrective action
• Start up and shutdown of all equipments and plant and prepare for
maintenance occupation. Commission equipment after maintenance.
• Collect various samples that are to be sent to laboratory for tests
• Restart equipments and re-set shutdown valves as instructed by DCSor
senior operator
• Prepare any equipment or instrument as per SAP work request in
providing isolation and safe access to maintenance personnel and ensure
the work is complete in time
• Checks lube oil and seal oil level in the pumps, compressors and turbines
and make up as required. Also checks seal water level and pressure and
make up as required.
• Check fin fans for any abnormalities like noises, broken belt etc.
• Check and report any valve passing to flare.
• Perform the duties as an authorized gas tester and carry out gas testing,
including determining the amount of hydrocarbons, oxygens, H2S,
explosive gases, etc.
• Ensure good human relationship among the workers.
• Good housekeeping around the unit, report and hand over to the incoming
shift.
• Participates in emergency reviews/drills and functions as a fire fighter.
• Write daily reports on process situations carried out during production
process.

Job Description:
• Responsible on a shift basis, for the following activities:
• Ensure equipment is safety started and shut down from the field when
required by the panel, in accordance to job procedures,
safety/environment regulation.
• Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for
maintenance work.
• Perform condition monitoring of equipment.
• Assist the shift instructor in the training and development of the junior
operation technicians.
• Assign field activities to junior operations technicians.
• Prepare chemical solutions and control dosage rate. Monitor chemical
inventory level in mixing tanks and make up when necessary.
• Perform minor maintenance, monitors and inspects process equipment
such as fire heaters, heat and cooling exchangers, rotating equipment
(pumps, turbines and motors, compressors and air-coolers) Condensate
recovery unit, Flare system etc. to ensure their efficient operation.
• Participates in emergency reviews/drills and functions as a fire fighter.
• Take regular samples of products for laboratory analysis and irregular
samples upon request.
• Performs field parameter logging and reports any irregularities
to the shift supervisor.
• Check the functionality of local gauges and instruments such as
(Pressures, Flows, Temperatures and Levels) to ensure their operating
range and coordinates with control room to verify any anomalies.
• Operate desalter to maximize it efficiency.
1. Desalter water wash to improve emulsion and dehydration efficiency.
• Engage merox unit when the unit is stabilized after start-up.
• Carried out soot blowing on (CDU) Crude heaters and to improve heat
transfer efficiency.
• Monitor and lighting refinery flare fire after long shutdown and normal
