Background: Serum soluble corin was decreased not only in some cardiac diseases, but also in stroke. Cardiogenic sources play a critical role in ischemic stroke. Serum soluble corin level in stroke subtypes has not been studied. Here we aimed to study corin level in 4 stroke subtypes: hemorrhagic, thrombotic, embolic and lacunar stroke.
Modeling of Longitudinal Pulse Rate, Respiratory Rate and Blood Pressure Meas...Premier Publishers
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a chronic condition that happens when the heart’s muscle becomes too damaged to adequately pump the blood around your body. The main objective of this study was to modeling the longitudinal pulse rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure measurements from congestive heart failure patients under follow up at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital. This retrospective cohort study was based on secondary data obtained from Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital. Modeling approach of longitudinal data analysis was applied by suing Linear Mixed Models to identify risk factors and to compare efficiency of the models. Fit statistics showed that the joint model resulted in better fit to the data than the separate models, implying a significant association among the two end points. Based on the joint model for SBP, diagnosis history, family history, NYHA class, and time, and for DBP, age, weight, sex, family history, NYHA class, and time are the significant factors, at 5% level of significance. The joint model fitted the data better than the separate models. The result from the joint model suggested a strong association between the evolutions and a slowly increasing evolution of the association between PR and RR also, between SBP and DBP. Thus, fitting joint model is recommended for researches to any types of multivariate response variable together jointly.

Background: Pericardial tamponade, a life-threatening condition caused by the accumulation of fluid in the pericardial sac, can be acute or chronic. Mortality and morbidity can be minimized on prompt diagnosis and treatment with percutaneous drainage.
Materials and methods: 246 patients admitted with cardiac tamponade between Jan 2010 and Aug 2014 was enrolled in the study. After clinical examination and echocardiographic assessment, all the patients were subjected to emergency pericardiocentesis (both diagnostic and therapeutic). Three samples of the aspirate were sent for biochemical, serological, and cytological analysis. The data collected was then analyzed.
Results: Tuberculosis is the commonest cause in our study. Post procedural and post-surgical causes are insignificant in numbers. Overall mortality rate in our study is 6% which is much lesser than other studies. Procedure related cardiac tamponade mortality rate was 6%.

P03- MANDIAC: A Web-based Annotation System For Manual Arabic Diacritization iwan_rg

Abstract
In this paper, we introduce MANDIAC, a web-based annotation system designed for rapid manual diacritization of Standard Arabic text. To expedite the annotation process, the system provides annotators with a choice of automatically generated diacritization possibilities for each word. Our framework provides intuitive interfaces for annotating text and managing the diacritization annotation process. In this paper we describe the annotation and the administration interfaces as well as the back-end engine. Finally, we demonstrate that our system doubles the annotation speed compared to using a regular text editor.

P05- DINA: A Multi-Dialect Dataset for Arabic Emotion Analysis iwan_rg
By:
Muhammad Abdul-Mageed, Hassan Alhuzali, Dua'a Abu-Elhij'a and Mona Diab
Abstract
Although there has been a surge of research on sentiment analysis, less work has been done on the related task of emotion detection. Especially for the Arabic language, there is no literature that we know of for the computational treatment of emotion. This situation is due partially to lack of labelled data, a bottleneck that we seek to ease. In this work, we report efforts to acquire and annotate a multi-dialect dataset for Arabic emotion analysis.

Abstract: With drones becoming more and more popular, safety is a big concern. A critical situation occurs when a drone temporarily loses its GPS position information, which might lead it to crash. This can happen, for instance, when flying close to buildings where GPS signal is lost. In such situations, it is desirable that the drone can rely on fall-back systems and regain stable flight as soon as possible. In this talk, I will present novel methods to automatically recover and stabilize a quadrotor from any initial condition or execute emergency landing. On the one hand, this new technology will allow quadrotors to be launched by simply tossing them in the air, like a “baseball ball”. On the other hand, it will allow them to recover back into stable flight or land on a safe area after a system failure. Since this technology does not rely on any external infrastructure, such as GPS, it enables the safe use of drones in both indoor and outdoor environments. Thus, it can become relevant for commercial use of drones, such as parcel delivery.
