PERSONAL PROFILE
Completed my 4-year apprenticeship in welding and fabrication joining trade principles at Procor UK in
1982.
I am a highly skilled welding, pipe and fabrication specialist with extensive experience in the steel, oil &
gas and petro-chemical industries in various locations including, Europe, and the Middle East. An
experienced welder, welding inspector, welding co-ordinator and welding trainer/assessor who takes
responsibility and control for problem solving and meeting set targets within strict time scales using safe
working practices and within demanding environments. Works well both individually or as part of a team.
I have a history of reliability, trustworthiness and adaptability. Always willing to undertake and put in
100% to achieve further career qualifications.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY & EXPERIENCE

Role: Welding Project Engineer / Welding Co-ordinator
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Development and Qualification of Welding Procedure Specifications to ASME IX, BS EN ISO
15614-1:2004+A2:2012, BS EN ISO 15614-7:2007.
• Qualification of welders to ASME IX, BS EN ISO 9606-1:2012, BS EN ISO 14732:2013.
• Maintaining qualified WPQR, WPS and prolonging welder qualification certificates.
• Training and supporting the Welding Team.
• Welding process improvement with responsibility for reviewing and updating company welding
processes, reducing product costs and process cycles.
• Liaising closely with colleagues from Sales/Estimating, Engineering, Production and Quality
Assurance Departments.

• Maintain all existing weld procedure/welder qualifications and prolongation.
• Liaise with Sales/Estimators to ensure that weld procedures are in place for new projects.
• Prepare & qualify new weld procedures and welder qualifications. To BSEN 15614-1 & BSEN
287-1, ASME IX using Carbon Manganese (≤ S355N/mm²), Austenitic Stainless steels,

Role: Job Skills Instructor (Welding)
Duties & Responsibilities: To monitor and implement good health & safety practice during theoretical
and workshop practice instruction in plate and pipe welding and automatic and manual oxy-acetylene
cutting. Teaching both apprentices and regular employees in MMA, TIG, MIG, and FCAW, pipe sizes
ranging from 12mm NB up to 300mm NB – SCH 40 to SCH 140 wall thickness. Responsible for the
running of speciality courses in the welding of chrome moly steels and low alloys, austenitic steels and
small bore pipework. Fully conversant with the preparation of knowledge enhancing quizzes and tests,
and trainee improvement materials. Preparation and ordering of materials for cutting and welding
practice. Keeping stock and track of all welding consumables. In depth involvement with evaluation and
post phase follow ups of trainee’s. Also experienced with the teaching and instruction of pipefitting and
mechanical engineering (Precision bench work). Conducting welder approval and procedure tests and
inspection of Class ‘A’ pipe welding to relevant international and Saudi Aramco standards. Also involved
with development of new welding curriculum and technical writing for course upgrades.
Further Work Experience
Coded welder for various pipe-work installation companies involved in the welding and installation of
furnace related pipe-work, process pipe-work, petro-chemical pipe-work and pipe-work for large plants
like British Steel and British Leyland...
Coded welder on boiler/economiser/heat exchanger construction. Worked on Class ‘A’ pressure
vessels, pipe-work (Large & Small bore, STD to XXS wall, Austenitic, Martensitic, Chrome Alloys,
Carbon Steels, Exotic materials), for customers such as BP, Conoco, Total Oil, Chevron, B.N.F.L
Worked on railway rolling stock of all descriptions, including passenger train construction and
locomotive construction in Carbon Manganese steels and Aluminium.
