Started in BBC Manchester as Manager of Personnel Records. Worked for 5 years for BBC South in Local TV
and Radio HR. Helped to create the new BBC South East Region. My last position in the BBC was Personnel
Manager for Network Television. I was a member of the senior management team in Television Drama Series
with specific responsibility for Human Resources in a newly created business unit. Accountable for the HR
policy, strategy and implementation of a major change programme, revising Terms and Conditions of
Employment and contracting-out in-house functions. Specific duties included Employee Relations, Industrial
Relations, Training and Development, Pay and Remuneration, Selection and Recruitment and Counselling.
Additional responsibilities included the negotiation of all freelance contracts (including all directors and
producers) and working as Deputy to the General Manager of Drama Series.
