WORK EXPERIENCE
• Technical Support/Customer Service at United Nearshore Operations Apr2012 – Dec 2015
providing technical support over the phone for printers and fax machines, assisting with
wireless connections and software download for both Windows and MAC users. There were
daily call targets to achieve and I was able to meet and exceed those targets and twice won
an award as Employee of theYear.
• New Business Account Manager/Group Sales Specialist at Lufthansa German Airlines from
Apr 1999 – Oct 2009. During my time at Lufthansa I spent almost 3 years working as a New
Business Account Manager in the corporates department, where I was generating new leads
and reactivating existing customers using the Star Alliance Company Plus loyalty Program.
This role also involved attending some Travel Trade events where I would be assisting at the
Lufthansa stand to promote the Star Alliance Company Plus product. Prior to this I was a
Groups Sales Specialist, and this role involved negotiating group space on the aircraft,
making reservations and also ticketing group bookings. I had my own portfolio of Tour
Operators and clients that I would look after, and as the Groups Department worked closely
with Key Account Managers, I would be required to attend some client visits and
occasionally to help escort on some of our agent familiarization trips to Germany. Each
month I would be responsible for tracking the groups department revenue and total seats
sold and I would compile a report for the Groups Team Management.
• Senior Travel Consultant/Assistant Manager for Thomas Cook Sep 1985 – Feb 1999 My
role involved booking holidays, flights, cruises and tailor made itineraries. I was
responsible for meeting sales targets and maximizing revenue by up-selling and also selling
additional products like insurance, currency and car hire. I became the Ski Specialist in one
branch and Assistant Manager in another. During my time as Assistant Manager I had to
assist in the training of junior staff and also spent 6 weeks as Acting Branch Manager at
another store to cover during Annual leave and Jury Service. I broke my service between
1992 – 1997 to raise a family.
INTERESTS
• My interests include foreign travel and cookery, plus I am considering writing a book about
time that was spent living in and travelling around Dominican Republic.
SKILLS
• I have over 20 years experience in the Travel/Airline Industry, which has helped me to
develop good communication and customer service skills. I have lots of experience in sales
and reservations/ticketing, am self motivating, and can work to meet targets
