    World and Expressive Art and Design.
•   Indoor and outdoor activities.
•   Hands-on.
•   Specialist subjects (Music, PE, French)
•   Builds on from prior learning.
•   Caters to individual needs.
•   Listening skills.
•   Main focus this term is independence!
Personal, Social and Emotional
           Development
• Developing friendships and relationships with
  other people.

• Manners and respect to all.

• Sharing, turn-taking.

• Independence.

• Houses (badges), class rules and rewards
  (certificates and sticker charts).
Communication and Language
            Literacy
• Communication and Language - 3 main areas;
  Listening and Attention, Understanding,
  Speaking.
• Literacy – 2 main areas: Reading and Writing.
• Phonics – Letters and Sounds.
• Reading – Homework.
• Poems.
• Mark making/Writing.
• Handwriting.
Mathematics
• 2 areas; Shape, Space and Measure
           Number
• Practical, hands-on activities.
• Homework - Friday.
• Maths is everywhere!
Physical Development
• Main areas: Moving and Handling, Health
  and Self Care

• Moving and Handling: PE, Games, fine
  motor control.

• Health and Self Care: Toilet habits, wiping
  nose, healthy eating, changing.
Understanding the World
• Covers: People and Communities, The
  World and ICT.

• To foster curiosity in the world around us.

• Integrated themes throughout all areas of
  learning. This term – Myself, My Body &
  My Family and Space.
Expressive Arts and Design
• Art, Drama, Music, DT, Cooking,
  Construction.

• Using imagination.

• Harvest Festival – Wed 10th Oct (11am)

• Nativity Play – Wed 5th Dec (11am)
House Keeping
•   Wednesday afternoon (half-days).
•   Boys routines – independence.
•   Late – sign in at the office.
•   Drink bottles – go home on Friday and back on Monday.
•   Uniform – caps and blazers everyday (and bookbags!).
•   Greetings – shake hands and look at adult in the eyes.
•   Afternoon leaving – 2 classes at a time.
•   Lockers – child must be accompanied by adult.
•   Everything named (with waterproof labels).
•   Visits this term.
House Keeping (cont’)
• Fruit/veg snack provided at break.
• Lunch – we encourage boys to try ALL foods and use a
  knife and fork. We reward good table manners and staff
  sit and eat with boys.
• Parent’s Evening – 14th Nov
• Trips: Polka Theatre – 29th Nov
• Communication – school/class/Reception newsletter,
  message book.
• Reading workshops – Tues 2nd Oct and Tues 16th Oct.
• Timetables
