Aim
To develop adesign solutionof the project of cultural heritage cum interpretation centre,Varanasi. it’s
a hypothetical project proposed by me near sarnath , Varanasi.
Introduction
A cultural centeror cultural centre isan organization,buildingorcomplex thatpromotescultureand
arts. Cultural centerscanbe neighborhoodcommunityartsorganizations,private facilities,government-
sponsored.
An interpretationcentre,or interpretive centre,isaninstitutionfordisseminationof knowledgeof
natural or cultural heritage;these are locatedinconnectiontocultural,historicornatural sites.
Need of Project
 Cityof varanasi attracts thousandsof touristseveryyearfrom all over the world because of the
Heritage Statusgrantedto itby UNESCO.Sothere isan requirementof cultural centre in the city
whichcould depict the mythology & the rich cultural heritage of the city for which it is famous
for.
 Tourist or even the local people who visit Varanasi , do not get a centre where they could get
the information about the culture ,its heritage and mythology etc.
 More & more people would get aware about its richness in culture , its history as how did city
emerged etc.
Scope and objective of project
 To developaeffective spaces in the centre, so that people can easily relate themselves to the
city & its culture
 To develop the facilities & the amenities at the centre , so that the people can be served in
most functional & asthetical way & also to create a perfect mood for the visitors ,which could
help them in relating their soul with the city.
 To generate more & more revenue from the tourists visiting Varanasi

consideredinthe city,as it couldbe the bestone to suitthe place forcultural or interpretation
centre.
Site ishavingroad onits frontlongerside &is surroundedbysarnathhistorical site aswell as
easilyaccessedtosarnathrailway station.(whichrunsverynearbytoit).
Site area=5 acres
