A cube is a three-dimensional shape with six equal squares as faces, eight points where its edges meet called vertices, and twelve straight edges of equal length that connect the vertices. It is an example of a Platonic solid, which are 3D shapes that have identical regular polygons as faces and the same number of faces meet at each vertex. The surface area of a cube is six times the square of its edge length, and its volume is the cube of its edge length.
