Custom Training Solutions (CTS), a division of Northwest State Community College, offers eLearning courses using electronic media to deliver instruction remotely in both asynchronous and synchronous formats. Asynchronous courses include web courses developed by CTS or externally, as well as short term programs and online certifications. Synchronous delivery incorporates content, audio, and optional video components using internet meeting tools, phone conferencing, and video conferencing to allow interaction between instructors and remote students.

Screen Capture All Your Lectures
In a nutshell screen capture is the art of developing educational materials by capturing a video of what is happening on a computer screen. This simple process can allow rapid creation of rich-media instructional aides. In this talk I will present some experiences of mine and of my colleagues in developing these resources for students of Oscail in Dublin City University who are studying a Bsc. in Information Technology by distance education. I will look at some tips I wrote two years ago on this topic and examine their continued relevance. The take-home message of this talk will be “publish or perish”, an exhortation to the educator to focus not on fancy production or editing of screen captures but rather on a process that involves a minimum of time and technical effort to create videos and get them to students. To finish I will give an overview of how we are using Camtasia Studio with Google Video as part of DCU’s roll out of Google Apps for Education and demonstrate some interesting aspects of this elearning platform.

Both have benefits of making learning more accessible and comfortable through real-time feedback but also have disadvantages when technology fails or with differences in time zones.

Popular web conferencing platforms like Wimba, Elluminate, and iLink provide audio, video, application sharing, and interactive features, allowing for dynamic online learning experiences through active student collaboration and participation. Video conferencing was piloted with HNC and National Diploma learners to improve collaboration and retention. Various video conferencing software were tested. Skype was preferred by learners but could not be used on the college network. Four video conferences per year were introduced covering course content. Benefits included maintaining course quality and addressing challenges for employed learners. Technical issues were encountered but overcome. Learners, teachers, managers, and assessors generally reacted positively and saw benefits, though some learners struggled to find quiet spaces. Lessons were learned around preparation and support.

The LRC has been recording broadcasts since the 1980s and making them available for teaching. They want to make these recordings more widely and easily accessible through streaming while also having backup copies. Staffing needs have changed over time with now a Systems Librarian coordinating, an AV Librarian cataloging, and IT staff assisting. Key ongoing questions include which older videos to prioritize for digitization, how much recordings are being used, how long to store them, and how to organize the growing collection.

Wimba, Elluminate, and Ilinc are online tools that allow for live, virtual classrooms and meetings where participants can interact through voice, video, text chat, whiteboards, and sharing applications. Wimba features a presenter area to share slides and desktops. Elluminate and Ilinc offer text and voice chat functions as well as whiteboarding tools. Ilinc specifically transports video and pictures via voice-over internet protocol. These tools enable instructors to facilitate synchronous online interaction and classes.

The LRC has been recording broadcasts since the 1980s and making them available for teaching. They want to make these recordings more widely and easily accessible through streaming while also having backup copies. Staffing needs have changed over time with now a Systems Librarian coordinating, an AV Librarian cataloging, and IT staff assisting. Key ongoing questions include which older videos to prioritize for digitization, how much recordings are being used, how long to store them, and how to organize the growing collection.

Wimba, Elluminate, and Ilinc are online tools that allow for live, virtual classrooms and meetings where participants can interact through voice, video, text chat, whiteboards, and sharing applications. Wimba features a presenter area to share slides and desktops. Elluminate and Ilinc offer text and voice chat functions as well as whiteboarding tools. Ilinc specifically transports video and pictures via voice-over internet protocol. These tools enable instructors to facilitate synchronous online interaction and classes.

environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
