Case Study: Verbal Bullying
Verbal bullying involves using hurtful words, insults, and derogatory
language to demean and belittle a person. This case study delves into a
real-life scenario of verbal bullying within a school environment, examining
its impact on the victim, the role of school staff, and strategies for
prevention and intervention.
Case study
In a local high school, 16-year-old Grade 10 learner
Ayisha becomes the target of verbal bullying by a
group of older girls.
The bullies consistently mock, ridicule, and insult
Ayisha's appearance, academic abilities, and
personal interests. This verbal harassment has
persisted for several weeks, causing significant
emotional distress to Ayisha.
