A case study examines verbal bullying within a high school where a group of older girls consistently mock, ridicule, and insult a 16-year-old girl over her appearance, academics, and interests. This verbal harassment has caused the victim significant emotional distress and lowered her self-esteem. Teachers and staff need to identify and report bullying, provide support and counseling to the victim, and enforce anti-bullying policies. Prevention strategies include bystander intervention, educational initiatives to address bullying, and restorative practices.
