Cabinet approved the setting up of National Testing
Agency (NTA). The agency would be responsible for
conducting entrance examinations in the country thus
relieving educational bodies like CBSE, AICTE etc. The
National Testing Agency aims to conduct these entrance
exams twice a year as compared to the current scenario
where UGC NET is conducted just once a year. It will
relieve the mounting pressure on our candidates to either
clear the exams or wait for another year to get their next
chance.

“Problems can
become
opportunities
when the right
people come
together”
With technology, we as educators and our students are living in a constantly evolving digital world. The digital
age has changed the way people communicate, network, access information and learn.
Technology driven Teaching-learning process
There was quite a lot of technology that evolves every day, we have already moved far away from traditional
talk & chalk board class rooms to smart rooms. But the question is about feasibility and accessibility for
these technologies among all categories of institutions. The institutions may differ based on their eco-
nomical background, but students are students..as teachers we have the responsibility to give them the
best of what is feasible. In our teaching learning processes, today ICT have an inevitable role by: Ex-
panding access, Promoting efficiency, Improving the quality of learning, Enhancing the quality of teaching
Students driven by social media
Technology has transformed young India. The gadgets
considered as luxuries earlier have swiftly become
necessities making an impact on both their student
and personal lives. But these technology has created
an issue, where our students are getting addicted to
these medias..
Problems as an Opportunity
There are always two types of teachers faced with the same
challenge — one will approached it as a problem to over-
come, and the other, will look for a possibility of reinvention.
“Problems can become opportunities when the right people
come together”
Need for a change in Mindset
“Every crucial experience can be regarded either as a setback,
or the start of a wonderful new adventure, it depends on
your perspective”. Talk to any successful professional with a
positive attitude, and you'll find one key trait in common: all of them have a unique mentality that allows them
to handle challenges differently. Rather than seeing problems as burdensome forces of opposition, they see
problems as opportunities--opportunities to learn, grow, improve, or adjust in a way that leaves them better
off than before the problem existed.
Art of converting the Problems into Opportunity
WhatsApp is an app that has become inevitable among student, that has creating problems, which we teachers
can convert into a affordable and available tool for our teaching learning process. Most successful teachers
have not achieved their distinction by having new talent or opportunity presented to them. They have devel-
oped the opportunity that was at hand. The underlying purpose of WhatsApp is to facilitate communication,
and at its most basic level, education is nothing but communication. WhatsApp can provide a channel through
which teachers can achieve faster and more seamless communication with their students. It can also increase
the level of communication between students and create another venue for learning
Students are also moving away from or-
ganised learning environment, towards
the online learning space indicating the
popularity that do-it-yourself (DIY) and
collaborative learning is gaining, video
chat and educational tutorials was the
popular among students.
Conclusion
High infiltration of Smartphones has initi-
ated growing use of WhatsApp for
groups of teachers and their students to
support the learning process by allowing
direct access to lots of online resources.
Combination of medium like videos, pic-
tures and voice notes along with constant
availability of facilitator and learning any-
time anywhere, has made WhatsApp a
new and convenient tool for teaching
learning activity. Though there is no sig-
nificant difference between gain of knowl-
edge from WhatsApp or instructive lectures, advantages (technical, educational or instructional) out pars the
disadvantages. A few disadvantages, like message flooding and eyestrain can be overruled by making small
groups and using mobiles with bigger screen. Enabling a Wi-Fi in the college campus can make its use cost
effective.
“Every crucial
experience can
be regarded
either as a
setback, or the
start of a
wonderful new
adventure, it
depends on
your
perspective”

Anna Adarash college for Women
A one day faculty orientation pro-
gramme was organized by the De-
partment of Computer Science, Anna
Adarsh College for Women on the
topic “Changing role of a Teacher”
on 25.11.2017. The resource person
was Dr. C.V. Suresh Babu, His pas-
sion in sharing his knowledge and ex-
perience among the teaching frater-
nity made this faculty orientation pro-
gramme informative and productive. More than 40 faculty members participated in the programme.
The changing role of a teacher from Guru,
Teacher, Trainer, Coach, Mentor in this modern
scenario was explained clearly with real life ex-
amples. Dr. C. V. Suresh Babu spoke on how a
creative teacher plays a major role in building
the character and skill set of the student. The
faculty members were simulated as elevators
since they are responsible in lifting the students
from zero level till their capacity level. Then they
come down to elevate the next batch, making it
a continuous process. They were made to recall
their gurus who mentored and shaped their personality as a student. He discussed the
importance of communication and information process for effective teachers involving
the opinion of the participant to create learning interest among the students. Dr. C.V.
Suresh Babu motivated the faculty to indulge in knowledge building through continuous
learning process and engage in research projects involving students. The programme
concluded with a thought provoking and motivating question “What would you want to
be in a period of five years?”
The feedback from the participants was overwhelming. They felt privileged of being in
the teaching profession and identified their role as a responsible teacher. All felt that a
faculty development programme for 2 days should be arranged in the future.

I like this book the most. Professors
interested in software testing will
find this book extremely helpful.
The brief and understandable defi-
nitions are informative and consid-
erate to people who are not familiar
to the testing. Also, it was very use-
ful for examination because this
book has one important content
“JUST BEFORE EXAM”. Students
like this book since it is user
friendly. This book was very well
written. It has pictorial representa-
tion along with descriptions of soft-
ware testing. This book was con-
structed with previous year univer-
sity question papers. So I hope stu-
dents are well benefited. Book Bank @ New Prince

Some les- sons are painful, and some are painless.. but, all are priceless...with new learning experiences month after month, it has become a com- mitment to make sure that first week of every month I have to publish this newsletter. This issue’s article I believe it will be a thought process for our teachers to use the WhatsApp for their teaching learn- ing process and take their teaching beyond their class rooms. I would like to thank all those who spare their time to contribute to this issue in terms not only their college events but also for their purposeful contents. I request all our faculty friends to “Never change your origi- nality for the sake of others. Be- cause no one can play your role better than you. So be yourself. You are the best” and here is a platform for showcase you ideas, I invite each one of you to use this space for your creations. PhD Admission 2018 Visit www.unom.ac.in Cabinet approved the setting up of National Testing Agency (NTA). The agency would be responsible for conducting entrance examinations in the country thus relieving educational bodies like CBSE, AICTE etc. The National Testing Agency aims to conduct these entrance exams twice a year as compared to the current scenario where UGC NET is conducted just once a year. It will relieve the mounting pressure on our candidates to either clear the exams or wait for another year to get their next chance. • 2. P A G E 2 “Problems can become opportunities when the right people come together” With technology, we as educators and our students are living in a constantly evolving digital world. The digital age has changed the way people communicate, network, access information and learn. Technology driven Teaching-learning process There was quite a lot of technology that evolves every day, we have already moved far away from traditional talk & chalk board class rooms to smart rooms. But the question is about feasibility and accessibility for these technologies among all categories of institutions. The institutions may differ based on their eco- nomical background, but students are students..as teachers we have the responsibility to give them the best of what is feasible. In our teaching learning processes, today ICT have an inevitable role by: Ex- panding access, Promoting efficiency, Improving the quality of learning, Enhancing the quality of teaching Students driven by social media Technology has transformed young India. The gadgets considered as luxuries earlier have swiftly become necessities making an impact on both their student and personal lives. But these technology has created an issue, where our students are getting addicted to these medias.. Problems as an Opportunity There are always two types of teachers faced with the same challenge — one will approached it as a problem to over- come, and the other, will look for a possibility of reinvention. “Problems can become opportunities when the right people come together” Need for a change in Mindset “Every crucial experience can be regarded either as a setback, or the start of a wonderful new adventure, it depends on your perspective”. Talk to any successful professional with a positive attitude, and you'll find one key trait in common: all of them have a unique mentality that allows them to handle challenges differently. Rather than seeing problems as burdensome forces of opposition, they see problems as opportunities--opportunities to learn, grow, improve, or adjust in a way that leaves them better off than before the problem existed. Art of converting the Problems into Opportunity WhatsApp is an app that has become inevitable among student, that has creating problems, which we teachers can convert into a affordable and available tool for our teaching learning process. Most successful teachers have not achieved their distinction by having new talent or opportunity presented to them. They have devel- oped the opportunity that was at hand. The underlying purpose of WhatsApp is to facilitate communication, and at its most basic level, education is nothing but communication. WhatsApp can provide a channel through which teachers can achieve faster and more seamless communication with their students. It can also increase the level of communication between students and create another venue for learning Students are also moving away from or- ganised learning environment, towards the online learning space indicating the popularity that do-it-yourself (DIY) and collaborative learning is gaining, video chat and educational tutorials was the popular among students. Conclusion High infiltration of Smartphones has initi- ated growing use of WhatsApp for groups of teachers and their students to support the learning process by allowing direct access to lots of online resources. Combination of medium like videos, pic- tures and voice notes along with constant availability of facilitator and learning any- time anywhere, has made WhatsApp a new and convenient tool for teaching learning activity. Though there is no sig- nificant difference between gain of knowl- edge from WhatsApp or instructive lectures, advantages (technical, educational or instructional) out pars the disadvantages. A few disadvantages, like message flooding and eyestrain can be overruled by making small groups and using mobiles with bigger screen. Enabling a Wi-Fi in the college campus can make its use cost effective. “Every crucial experience can be regarded either as a setback, or the start of a wonderful new adventure, it depends on your perspective” C O M P U T E R S C I E N C E Simple Educational Strategies using WhatsApp 1. Use the Group Chats feature to create learning and study groups 2. Create audio lessons that can be sent directly to students 3. Stay in contact with students outside the classroom 4. Send out problems or assignments to students even when they are not in class 5. Stay in contact with parents 6. Send videos to students 7. Send graphics such as pictures or charts directly to students 8. Send report cards directly to the parents’ phones 9. Facilitate real-time communication between (teachers and parents) & (students and teachers) 10. Teachers can also maintain communication with students. • 3. A one day faculty orientation pro- gramme was organized by the De- partment of Computer Science, Anna Adarsh College for Women on the topic “Changing role of a Teacher” on 25.11.2017. The resource person was Dr. C.V. Suresh Babu, His pas- sion in sharing his knowledge and ex- perience among the teaching frater- nity made this faculty orientation pro- gramme informative and productive. More than 40 faculty members participated in the programme. The changing role of a teacher from Guru, Teacher, Trainer, Coach, Mentor in this modern scenario was explained clearly with real life ex- amples. Dr. C. V. Suresh Babu spoke on how a creative teacher plays a major role in building the character and skill set of the student. The faculty members were simulated as elevators since they are responsible in lifting the students from zero level till their capacity level. Then they come down to elevate the next batch, making it a continuous process. They were made to recall their gurus who mentored and shaped their personality as a student. He discussed the importance of communication and information process for effective teachers involving the opinion of the participant to create learning interest among the students. Dr. C.V. Suresh Babu motivated the faculty to indulge in knowledge building through continuous learning process and engage in research projects involving students. The programme concluded with a thought provoking and motivating question “What would you want to be in a period of five years?” The feedback from the participants was overwhelming. They felt privileged of being in the teaching profession and identified their role as a responsible teacher. All felt that a faculty development programme for 2 days should be arranged in the future. The brief and understandable defi- nitions are informative and consid- erate to people who are not familiar to the testing. Also, it was very use- ful for examination because this book has one important content “JUST BEFORE EXAM”. Students like this book since it is user friendly. This book was very well written. It has pictorial representa- tion along with descriptions of soft- ware testing. This book was con- structed with previous year univer- sity question papers. So I hope stu- dents are well benefited.
