Essay on Education and the Internet
Education and the Internet Due to the expansion of the Internet in recent years, schools and
universities around the world have been incorporating more technology into their classrooms.
Computers are ever present on college campuses, and many teachers are including them for class
activities on a daily basis. With email, a teacher or can be in contact with his or her students outside
of the classroom to discuss class work. Computers in the classroom are extremely beneficial for
students, more importantly; the use of the Internet allows students easy access to an abundance of
information.
Writing an essay in a Moo room is useful for both students and teachers. The structure of a Moo
room allows the reader to skip from one room...show more content...
Receiving help is as easy as communicating with the other people online. This saves the hassle of
arranging a meeting with a teacher or classmates. This is beneficial because an instant response can
be obtained in a matter of seconds. Also, this is the most appropriate place for a correct response to
any Moo related questions.
When an essay is completed in a Moo, it is out there for the world to see. In other words, anyone
and everyone in the world who has access to the Internet can view it. This leaves an essay open
for criticism, which can be used constructively to help the student develop his or her work. It also
beneficial for the teachers. It allows the teacher to view the student's work with the click of a
mouse. No longer does class have to be in session for work to be accomplished. Teachers can view
an essay over the Internet, then email the student back his or her grade at any time they desire.
Essays written on the Internet also free the teacher from carrying around stacks of papers.
Although Moos have many advantages, there are also certain drawbacks to creating an essay in this
fashion. When writing an essay in the Moo, the Moo editor may be needed.
The editor contains certain commands that are needed to get around throughout the rooms, and it
may be hard to memorize them all. This can be a stressful task to learn the commands, but once they
are familiar, travel throughout the Moo rooms is much easier.

Student Activism
Student activism v. 2010 Are the rabid 'Makibaka' days of the '70s back on our campuses today?
By RACHEL C. BARAWID April 21, 2010, 12:37pm Many in the academic community condemn
the violent protests that took place recently at their campuses and at the CHED office but student
activists justify their acts as a last resort to air their grievances. Chair burning. Paint throwing.
Effigies set on fire. Slogan screaming. Unadulterated violence. No, these are not scenes created by
adult dissidents, but by radical Filipino students of today. Last month, people witnessed violent
on–campus protests that led to the destruction of property at the Polytechnic University of the
Philippines, and the paint bombing of University of the Philippines Los...show more content...
"Forms of protests like that are relegated to the most rabid, and to a certain extent, sinful persons.
We've done it against Gen. Esperon in 2006 during the time two UP students were abducted. He
went to UP to justify abductions and human rights violations of the regime. Tinapunan siya talaga

repression and vilification of student organizations. In the last two years, I think he suspended the
UPLB Student Council and the student publication, delayed the appointment of the Student
Regent, and is also now responsible for the ousting of that particular Student Regent from UPLB
precisely because he was sitting on her registration request papers," Ridon laments. He also
accused Velasco of being responsible for the vilification campaign against progressive
organizations, student councils and publications, alleging they are fronts of the communist party
at UPLB. Chancellor Velasco vehemently denies any of these charges, saying these were totally
baseless and irresponsible statements. According to Velasco, he was not responsible for the
ousting of Student Regent and senior UPLB Comm Arts student Charisse BaГ±ez. He says
BaГ±ez had pending cases with the Student Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) that prevented her from
graduating in April 2009. BaГ±ez also reportedly failed to file a Leave of Absence (LOA) for the
second semester of 2009, despite reminders by the CAS dean, the CAS Office of the

Successful Student Essay
Characteristics of a Successful Student.
Are you a student who wants to be successful? All people can be good successful students, if they
try hard and use self discipline to push them self harder. Being a successful student doesn't mean
you are so smart you get to skip grades, it just means that you get good marks, work well with
others, and don't get held back any grades. If you are a person who wants to keep your life on track,
it takes hard work, determination, and patience.
Being a successful student may involve some of the characteristics such as: organization, time,
studying, and believing you can achieve.
Organization means using your space wisely. Using things like computers to hold lots of information

Studying skills will help you be more successful as well, there is also to much studying. To much
studying can cause stress, and dense learning habits, also pushing your self to hard may ruin
learning skills and cause your self to feel bad, or not as intelligent. Study skills for tests, quizzes,
and exams is very important. Evenly spreading out study time will increase memory of the
subjects you learn. Taking frequent breaks will make studying less stressful. Using flash cards,
web sites, computers, or just a pencil and paper are all great ways to study. Having an answer sheet
to refer to, and look over when your done will also help study and learning skills because it can help
you see what you did wrong and need to fix. Having a study group or club before big tests, like
exams or diplomas, will help you have more fun with your friends when studying.
Also study at home with adults to help you. Having friends to study with will increase your
enjoyment of learning, and learning to learn. Doing homework right after you get home from school
is good because you might still remember what to do and what you need to study. Doing
homework in the morning can make it less likely for you to sleep or enjoy your day. If you enjoy
writing or reading a job may be based on writing in a future date, but if you dislike reading you
might want a job such as a doctor.

Student Council
Participating in student council has impacted my life extremely. Running in seventh grade was the
best spur impulse decision I have made. I wasn't certain I wanted to run because of previous
losses in fifth and sixth grade and how heavyhearted those losses made me. I'm so glad I ended up
running. I got interested in student council in fourth grade when I was my closest friends campaign
manager when she had run, which kind of sounds frivolous in fourth grade. Even though I was
pretty bashful and reserved as a little kid, once I got in middle school, I was ready to finally take a
vast step into becoming myself, which for me was being in the student council. In seventh grade
I was a candidate for Team Cougar Representative. The two weeks we had to campaign were the
longest two weeks of my life. I worked so hard making posters and trying to impress everyone to
get the maximum amount of votes. I ran against several sweet girls and close friends, which was
very stressful and emotional for me. Even though I had fears of losing, I didn't let anything stop
me. While I endeavored this new goal, I realized all the love and support I receive from my family
and friends and it's because of their encouragement that I am where I...show more content...
On April 26, 2017 I was made eighth grade secretary. Last year Mrs. Trimble, our advisor, just had
us in her advisory. Thirty minutes a week to organize immense school functions for a little over
one–thousand students wasn't enough time, imagine that. This year we have student council as an
elective class, so we are allowed more time to do what we need to. This is extremely nice because
we have a lot to do as a board. Student council positions in high school can open up opportunities to
apply for scholarships and prepare you for future jobs. Soon enough, I'll start thinking about those
possibilities, but all the worry is worth

Student Engagement Essay
Engagement, interaction, and communication are the things that connect people together in society.
Also, it are ways that help children learn. In the U.S., schools are promoting engagement in teaching
for helping students to improve. There are many methods that the teachers are using to create a
strong engagement relationship between teachers and students. U.S. teachers are engaging today's
students in many ways to help them improve their education, social skill, and prepare them for
society. One of the most popular methods that teacher use to engage students in teaching is the social
network. Today, teachers use the social network to provide lessons in class and outside of class, with

students are composed of many diverse groups of people together, which is a problem for teachers
when providing lessons. However, engagement is best method or way for people to acquire
knowledge. In schools, engagement is an important way that students acquire their education. When
students and teachers are highly engaged in school, teachers are able to help students improve their
learning. In the article "Student Engagement", the author pointed out that highly engagement
between teachers and students help to reduce dropout rates and increased levels of student success.
Also, the author believes it motivates the students keeping them interested in school and their
education. (Sadker, M) The action of engagement it benefits both students and teachers. From the
schools, teachers and educators point of view, it is important for teachers to engage students in the
learning process, because it helps teachers to know and make sure the students are learning. In the
"Teachers Engagement" article, the author explain the idea of teachers engage students in learning

most students are do not know purpose why they are in school, and teachers by engaging the
students in school help students realize the purpose of education. (Kennedy, C) With those reasons, it
shows that engagement it important for students and teachers in

Essay On Student Stress
College students are stressed all the time, so much that it has become a daily emotion in their
academic career. College students stress increases when we go away to college because we have
a lot of freedom that we never had before. Some students have been so dependent on their parents
for so long that when it comes to daily task they are at so confused on how to properly complete
it. In college we experience academic, financial, family, social, and family stress. Stress is a
normal human behavior but it can physically and mentally harm us. To deal with stress one has to
find ways to cope in order to decrease their stress level. Ideal coping mechanisms for a college
student is counseling, communication , and relaxation techniques instead of leisure activities. As we
go through the transition of becoming college students we become vulnerable to stress because we
are trying to find ourself, keep up with our academics, have a social life and adjust to a new life. It
becomes so much for a college student that they easily become stressed. Even if students are
physiologically stressed they don't seek counseling, however others try to look for counseling
because it gives social support and interpersonal coping techniques that a college student can seek.In
the article College Student Stress and Mental Health: Examination of Stigmatic Views on Mental
health Counseling Stated " This study suggested a need to increase students' use of mental health
counseling services. Many students

My Teaching Philosophy Essay
My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and
involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they
go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college.
Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead
something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better
equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly
anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That
being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content...
The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the
most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for
the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore
different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is
not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge
not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are
not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an
energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like
an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or
her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only
to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a
particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the
teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more

First Year Students Essay
First year students are faced with various social challenges. One of these challenges will be
attempting to manage a level of cultural and social diversity which may differ from what they are
familiar with in their communities. First year students enter a new social realm as they begin their
studies. They are forced to recreate their social world, as the meet new people and make new
friends. A first yearstudent will be faced with making his/her own decisions about drugs, sex,
alcohol and other. Partying may cause problems as bad decisions may be made due to the use of
drugs and/or alcohol.

their time. First year students have to learn how...show more content...
Staying away from home in an unfamiliar environment with new people can induce homesickness in
many first year students worldwide.
The social pressures of fitting in and making new friends affect first year students all over the
world. Students face social pressures such as partying, drinking and taking drugs. It is also
challenging for first years to make new friends as they are in an unfamiliar environment.
There is a vast difference between South Africa's first year dropout rate and America's first year
dropout rate. South Africa has a first year dropout rate of 50–60%, whereas the United States of
America has a first year dropout rate of 30%. A possible reason for this vast difference is the
admission requirements. South Africa has lower admission requirements than the US. Therefore
students with lower marks are being accepted into university in South Africa and are dropping out
sooner due to their low marks and not being able to handle the academic content. The United States
has stricter acceptance rules which results in a lower dropout rate as the students that are accepted
have higher marks and are able to handle the academic

I have taken stock of myself, considering my skills, experiences, and goals. I have looked to family
and friends, some of whom are doctors, for advice. Because of this self–examination, I have decided
to pursue a career in health care. The process has been difficult at times but always illuminating.
Throughout it all, I have never lost confidence – the confidence that I will actively absorb all
available medical knowledge, forge friendships with fellow students, and emerge from my training
as a skilful and caring physician.
I know that the road that I take to become a doctor is going to be very challenging; however I feel
that my past has prepared me for taking on the challenge. As a student, I am an active participant in
my academic and extracurricular activities. My first priority has always been to make good grades
and learn in college. Although this is important to me, I also know that by participating in clubs,
sports, and extracurricular activities, I will become a well–rounded student. I have been working
hard for the last 7 years, operating as an independent, responsible adult. In that time I have
constantly learnt from my life experiences and developed skills in both learning and life
management. I am a very motivated person with goal setting, time management and prior skills that
help me achieve what I aim to do.

Why I Want To Be A Student Council President
I would be honored to take the position of being student council president. There are qualities a
president of student council should possess that I believe I have.
Initially, I would like to list all of the qualities I shall bring to the Student Council. I am very
respectful of my peers and teachers. I have numerous academic accomplishments which I believe a
president must not only be a good role model for the rest of the student body but also lead in
academics as well. In addition to my academic skills I developed leadership skills that I have
obtained from Beta and 4–H. In these clubs I have learned how to communicate and work in groups
I am very flexible at taking on any task and conforming to each and every job when it is needed of

Student Financial Planning Essay
Financial planning for a student is vital to successful completion of a college degree and ongoing
success after college. The objective of this assignment is to evaluate four ways someone in my
position could save money and budget. By planning finances carefully a student can avoid a pause
in learning due to financial trouble and set themselves up for success after college. In the list
provided below I will provide four tips I will use to navigate my way around the possible financial
peril that presents itself to each student.
1.Track it. According to Lucy Lazarony of Bankrate.com, tracking spending for a minimum of two
to four weeks can help a student figure out where their money is going. I agree. She presents the
question, "Are four...show more content...
In 10 Budgeting Tips for Students, Tamara Robinson writes, "The number one mistake students
make in college is acquiring too many credit cards" (Mademan.com, 2010). While "charging it" can
provide instant gratification or relief in time of need, many students go overboard while in college.
This proves to be detrimental in the long–term. Let's be honest, interest adds up quickly and I don't
know of any credit card that defers it until after graduation like federal student loans.
It's just a bad idea in my opinion to use credit cards in any situation that a student can avoid.
Ultimately this debt can add up and force a student to divert their academic concentration to focus on
paying off the debt.
3.Manage student loans. "Don't over borrow, and if you end up borrowing more money than you
need, save it in a high interest savings account" says RC in his or her list of 25 Smart Budget and
Money Saving Tips for College Students (Think Your Way to Wealth, 2008). I am not exactly sure
why anyone would want to over borrow with student loans because unsubsidized and direct student
loans do not defer interest until after graduation and the interest rates are higher than any savings or
money market accounts I've ever seen. One exception is to make this money available in case of
emergency or financial hardship, but I see it as unwise.
In my experience I think each student should calculate how much money they'll have available to
them to put towards their student loan debt

Students' Rights Essay
In the constitution we the people are guaranteed certain rights. Those rights include life liberty and
the pursuit of happiness. These are guaranteed to the people as long as we follow the laws of the
land. There are twenty–seven amendments to the United States constitution. The most important one
in my opinion, is the first one. It states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of
grievances." (Constitutional Topic: Student Rights – The U.S. Constitution Online –

The Tinker's took this to court saying that it violated their first amendment rights. They appealed
it all the way up to the Supreme Court. And the court ruled that students hardly shed the
constitutional rights when they step inside school building. In addition schools cannot deny
students freedom of speech. I completely agree with this ruling, some students in high schools
are 18. Also, they have voting rights, they can go to war, and they can be charged as adults for
any crime. Yet these students can't say what they want to because they are in a school. They have
the right to die for their country but they can't say what they want. It doesn't make sense as why
the rules restrict so much that is unnecessary. Also teens are some of the most active protestors
and probably one of the more involved age groups involved in what they believe. The Supreme
Court once said, "It is... this kind of openness ... that is the basis of our National Strength and of
the independence and vigor of Americans" (Cary 27). America was built on people who stood up
against "the man" and so my logic is that students should have the same rights in schools to get what
they want out of their education. As to any freedom, there are limitations. Such as in the real world,
if one was to say they were going to harm someone, then they would be in

International Students Essay example
Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that
studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and
learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because
International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot
handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very
unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to
learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more
expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they...show more content...
They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent
essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any
problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of
saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any
language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most
university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money
in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students
because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is
responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very
difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited
since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to
find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is
not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from
Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to
have his own money. He went to

My Life As A Student
My life as a student has been a fairly good one. I've received good grades throughout all my years
of high school and pride myself as an intelligent individual. But my individual ability to grow and
learn has been always changing and shifting as I have grown. I think that currently, I am at a low
point in my mindset and learning ability, but there is hope on the horizon. This essay will explore
the growth and mindset of Will Roser, and how I can grow as a learner, friend, and individual. As
a student, I have some habits that I rely on, both good and bad. I am usually a good student,
receiving above average grades and I am moderately happy with them. My strength is that I
always get everything done on time. I never have an excuse because my work is always done. I
pride myself on that fact. And although that may seem like a good quality, the fact that I
procrastinate so much does affect how good that work may be. So yes, I always finish my work
which is always a good thing, but it may be at the expense of my sleep schedule. I tend to do most of
my work the day before, despite telling myself over and over again that it needs to be done earlier.
Luckily I have hope for my habits as I am still young. I still have to work on my procrastination but I
think that I can improve as long as I start to see the benefits of starting work early. As William
James says in his essay Habit, "The period between twenty and thirty is the critical one in the
formation of intellectual and

How to Be A Good Student Essay
How to Be A Good Student
To become a success in life, we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life.
Becoming a good student takes much work and self–discipline. There are many ways that a student
can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude,
intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement.
Attitude is primarily a genuine desire to learn and the will to do hard academic work to achieve
understanding. It is also shown by how well you apply yourself even to subjects in which you have
little interest and how much you can achieve even when a teacher's style is not what you are used to.
Also attitude can change the way you percieveperceive things...show more content...
No one else can help you to attain a good attitude, you must decide and make it a goal to have a
good attitude in your student life. (CS)
Intellectual skills is (S–V Agr) another important aspect of becoming a good student. This skill
includes the ability to read and understand, intelligent use of resources, mathematical and logical
skills, efficient study habits, and the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. Intellectual skills
include time management, exam strategies, study strategies, and goal setting.
Consciousness, or awareness, is another helpful aspect of becoming a good student. The good
student must be aware of their (agr) surroundings and know what is going on in the world around
them. We must strive to relate what is happening around us to what we are learning. This should be
important to us because we should care about what is going on politically, academically, socially,
and spiritually. Being aware and paying attention is a good trait to continually learn and apply.
Achievement is demonstrated by successful application of understanding. This aspect includes using
correct and confident knowledge, effective communication, and continuanceing of education through
out your life. Achievement gives you a sense of accomplishment and meaning. To become a good
student, this must be a goal that you wish to accomplish.
Becoming a good student can be time consuming but well worth

How Teacher Engagement Impacts Student Learning: The Role of Social Media and Diverse Teaching Methods

  • 1. Essay on Education and the Internet Education and the Internet Due to the expansion of the Internet in recent years, schools and universities around the world have been incorporating more technology into their classrooms. Computers are ever present on college campuses, and many teachers are including them for class activities on a daily basis. With email, a teacher or can be in contact with his or her students outside of the classroom to discuss class work. Computers in the classroom are extremely beneficial for students, more importantly; the use of the Internet allows students easy access to an abundance of information. Receiving help is as easy as communicating with the other people online. This saves the hassle of arranging a meeting with a teacher or classmates. This is beneficial because an instant response can be obtained in a matter of seconds. Also, this is the most appropriate place for a correct response to any Moo related questions. When an essay is completed in a Moo, it is out there for the world to see. In other words, anyone and everyone in the world who has access to the Internet can view it. This leaves an essay open for criticism, which can be used constructively to help the student develop his or her work. It also beneficial for the teachers. It allows the teacher to view the student's work with the click of a mouse. No longer does class have to be in session for work to be accomplished. Teachers can view an essay over the Internet, then email the student back his or her grade at any time they desire. Essays written on the Internet also free the teacher from carrying around stacks of papers. Although Moos have many advantages, there are also certain drawbacks to creating an essay in this fashion. When writing an essay in the Moo, the Moo editor may be needed. The editor contains certain commands that are needed to get around throughout the rooms, and it may be hard to memorize them all. This can be a stressful task to learn the commands, but once they are familiar, travel throughout the Moo rooms is much easier. Computers in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Student Activism Student activism v. 2010 Are the rabid 'Makibaka' days of the '70s back on our campuses today? By RACHEL C. BARAWID April 21, 2010, 12:37pm Many in the academic community condemn the violent protests that took place recently at their campuses and at the CHED office but student activists justify their acts as a last resort to air their grievances. Chair burning. Paint throwing. Effigies set on fire. Slogan screaming. Unadulterated violence. No, these are not scenes created by adult dissidents, but by radical Filipino students of today. Last month, people witnessed violent on–campus protests that led to the destruction of property at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and the paint bombing of University of the Philippines Los...show more content... Chancellor Velasco was pelted with paint bombs to express outrage for the years of repression and vilification of student organizations. In the last two years, I think he suspended the UPLB Student Council and the student publication, delayed the appointment of the Student Regent, and is also now responsible for the ousting of that particular Student Regent from UPLB precisely because he was sitting on her registration request papers," Ridon laments. He also accused Velasco of being responsible for the vilification campaign against progressive organizations, student councils and publications, alleging they are fronts of the communist party at UPLB. Chancellor Velasco vehemently denies any of these charges, saying these were totally baseless and irresponsible statements. According to Velasco, he was not responsible for the ousting of Student Regent and senior UPLB Comm Arts student Charisse BaГ±ez. He says BaГ±ez had pending cases with the Student Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) that prevented her from graduating in April 2009. BaГ±ez also reportedly failed to file a Leave of Absence (LOA) for the second semester of 2009, despite reminders by the CAS dean, the CAS Office of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I wasn't certain I wanted to run because of previous losses in fifth and sixth grade and how heavyhearted those losses made me. I'm so glad I ended up running. I got interested in student council in fourth grade when I was my closest friends campaign manager when she had run, which kind of sounds frivolous in fourth grade. Even though I was pretty bashful and reserved as a little kid, once I got in middle school, I was ready to finally take a vast step into becoming myself, which for me was being in the student council. In seventh grade I was a candidate for Team Cougar Representative. The two weeks we had to campaign were the longest two weeks of my life. I worked so hard making posters and trying to impress everyone to get the maximum amount of votes. I ran against several sweet girls and close friends, which was very stressful and emotional for me. Even though I had fears of losing, I didn't let anything stop me. While I endeavored this new goal, I realized all the love and support I receive from my family and friends and it's because of their encouragement that I am where I...show more content... This year we have student council as an elective class, so we are allowed more time to do what we need to. This is extremely nice because we have a lot to do as a board. • 6. Essay On Student Stress College students are stressed all the time, so much that it has become a daily emotion in their academic career. College students stress increases when we go away to college because we have a lot of freedom that we never had before. Some students have been so dependent on their parents for so long that when it comes to daily task they are at so confused on how to properly complete it. In college we experience academic, financial, family, social, and family stress. Stress is a normal human behavior but it can physically and mentally harm us. • 7. My Teaching Philosophy Essay My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college. Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content... The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is also challenging for first years to make new friends as they are in an unfamiliar environment. There is a vast difference between South Africa's first year dropout rate and America's first year dropout rate. South Africa has a first year dropout rate of 50–60%, whereas the United States of America has a first year dropout rate of 30%. A possible reason for this vast difference is the admission requirements. South Africa has lower admission requirements than the US. Therefore students with lower marks are being accepted into university in South Africa and are dropping out sooner due to their low marks and not being able to handle the academic content. The United States has stricter acceptance rules which results in a lower dropout rate as the students that are accepted have higher marks and are able to handle the academic Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Throughout it all, I have never lost confidence – the confidence that I will actively absorb all available medical knowledge, forge friendships with fellow students, and emerge from my training as a skilful and caring physician. I am very respectful of my peers and teachers. I have numerous academic accomplishments which I believe a president must not only be a good role model for the rest of the student body but also lead in academics as well. In addition to my academic skills I developed leadership skills that I have obtained from Beta and 4–H. • 11. Student Financial Planning Essay Financial planning for a student is vital to successful completion of a college degree and ongoing success after college. The objective of this assignment is to evaluate four ways someone in my position could save money and budget. By planning finances carefully a student can avoid a pause in learning due to financial trouble and set themselves up for success after college. In the list provided below I will provide four tips I will use to navigate my way around the possible financial peril that presents itself to each student. 1.Track it. According to Lucy Lazarony of Bankrate.com, tracking spending for a minimum of two to four weeks can help a student figure out where their money is going. I agree. She presents the question, "Are four...show more content... In 10 Budgeting Tips for Students, Tamara Robinson writes, "The number one mistake students make in college is acquiring too many credit cards" (Mademan.com, 2010). While "charging it" can provide instant gratification or relief in time of need, many students go overboard while in college. This proves to be detrimental in the long–term. Let's be honest, interest adds up quickly and I don't know of any credit card that defers it until after graduation like federal student loans. It's just a bad idea in my opinion to use credit cards in any situation that a student can avoid. Ultimately this debt can add up and force a student to divert their academic concentration to focus on paying off the debt. 3.Manage student loans. "Don't over borrow, and if you end up borrowing more money than you need, save it in a high interest savings account" says RC in his or her list of 25 Smart Budget and Money Saving Tips for College Students (Think Your Way to Wealth, 2008). I am not exactly sure why anyone would want to over borrow with student loans because unsubsidized and direct student loans do not defer interest until after graduation and the interest rates are higher than any savings or money market accounts I've ever seen. One exception is to make this money available in case of emergency or financial hardship, but I see it as unwise. In my experience I think each student should calculate how much money they'll have available to them to put towards their student loan debt Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Students' Rights Essay In the constitution we the people are guaranteed certain rights. Those rights include life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These are guaranteed to the people as long as we follow the laws of the land. There are twenty–seven amendments to the United States constitution. The most important one in my opinion, is the first one. It states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." (Constitutional Topic: Student Rights – The U.S. Constitution Online – USConstitution.net). Although these rights apply to everyone,...show more content... The Tinker's took this to court saying that it violated their first amendment rights. They appealed it all the way up to the Supreme Court. And the court ruled that students hardly shed the constitutional rights when they step inside school building. In addition schools cannot deny students freedom of speech. I completely agree with this ruling, some students in high schools are 18. Also, they have voting rights, they can go to war, and they can be charged as adults for any crime. Yet these students can't say what they want to because they are in a school. They have the right to die for their country but they can't say what they want. It doesn't make sense as why the rules restrict so much that is unnecessary. Also teens are some of the most active protestors and probably one of the more involved age groups involved in what they believe. The Supreme Court once said, "It is... this kind of openness ... that is the basis of our National Strength and of the independence and vigor of Americans" (Cary 27). America was built on people who stood up against "the man" and so my logic is that students should have the same rights in schools to get what they want out of their education. As to any freedom, there are limitations. Such as in the real world, if one was to say they were going to harm someone, then they would be in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

International Students Essay example Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more expensive. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to have his own money. But my individual ability to grow and learn has been always changing and shifting as I have grown. I think that currently, I am at a low point in my mindset and learning ability, but there is hope on the horizon. This essay will explore the growth and mindset of Will Roser, and how I can grow as a learner, friend, and individual. As a student, I have some habits that I rely on, both good and bad. I am usually a good student, receiving above average grades and I am moderately happy with them. My strength is that I always get everything done on time. I never have an excuse because my work is always done. I pride myself on that fact. And although that may seem like a good quality, the fact that I procrastinate so much does affect how good that work may be. So yes, I always finish my work which is always a good thing, but it may be at the expense of my sleep schedule. I tend to do most of my work the day before, despite telling myself over and over again that it needs to be done earlier. Luckily I have hope for my habits as I am still young. I still have to work on my procrastination but I think that I can improve as long as I start to see the benefits of starting work early. Becoming a good student takes much work and self–discipline. There are many ways that a student can stand out from the rest of the class.
