The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2. CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
It is a common matter when we found any difference between one culture and another.
However it still becomes a concerning because it can raise a big problem if the tendency of the
differences is too high. As a human being, we are not eternally live in a town or even in a
country only. At least, we communicate not only with people from our own region but also
with another ethnic culture.
Cross-culture is to understand how people from different cultures communicate with
each other and the culture of a society comprises the shared values, understandings,
assumptions, and goals that are learned from earlier generations, imposed by the members of
the present day society and passed on to the succeeding generations. As a succeed generation
someone need to be adapted and be accustomed to face different culture.
According to Alissa Kiney, cross-cultural conflict can be defined as conflict generated,
and perhaps exacerbated or perpetuated, by cultural differences among the groups involved in
the conflict. A person's culture informs his or her worldview, moral code, judgments, and ideas
or perceptions about others. Of course, these aspects of a culture can be incorrect or
misinformed, leading to conflict with other cultures or groups of people. The power of culture
is strong, however, and it can be difficult to overcome cross-cultural conflict, as evidenced by
the numerous conflicts between different cultural groups that continue to rage around the world
today.
Adjustment to any new situation or culture is not accomplished in a few days. It takes
time to adjust to a new lifestyle and to make new friends. Culture is not just experiencing new
foods or language or living in a country with a different political system. Remember, culture
refers to the values, traditions, norms, customs, and beliefs of a group or society. It
encompasses not just what people think, but how they think and process information.

7. CHAPTER III
CONCLUSION
Every parts around the worlds has their own cultures. Culture is reflection of ourselves. As
human being, we should understand the differences among each other. We prove that
multiculturalism will give more benefit to us.
Understanding other cultures is important for us. When we stay in another place, it will help us
to stay longer and learn much things. In this moment, some characters is reflected by different
regions. It doesn’t matter how many differences that we have. We believe and agree that all
differences above will bring good things for us and create good environments.
Respect each other is the best policy. Do not see the difference as the hostility. We have learned
the difference between some cultures and hopefully we won’t get misunderstanding when we
meet someone from another culture. From this portfolio I can conclude that no culture is the
best culture. Difference is nice to learn and to exchange knowledge each other. So before we
go abroad or to other region which has different culture from our own, we have to learn and
understand in which we will live, in order to make us comfortable to live there.
