This study aims to investigate whether long-term consumption of creatine phosphate supplements can lead to chronic heart failure. A cohort study of 2,000 rugby players will be conducted, with subjects divided into those who take creatine supplements and those who do not. Testing will include echocardiograms, ECGs, and blood pressure readings to detect any signs of heart damage or failure after one year. Statistical analysis will use Poisson distribution to determine the probability of developing heart failure based on creatine intake. Ethical issues around subject health, financial bias, and self-selection must also be considered in the study design.
