The creative process in blogging (and life)Jillian Leslie
Practical tips on writing, the creative process, and blogging. Presented by Jillian Leslie of Catch My Party at Bloggy Boot Camp, in Denver on September 17, 2011.
I gave this presentation in the Sales Engineering Finland meetup that was held on 21st of April 2015.
This presentation identifies four reasons why you cannot write a technical blog and helps you to crush these excuses.
It also reveals what can happen to you if you start blogging on a regular basis and describes some of the lessons that I learned when I wrote my first book.
When Thinking Like a Lawyer Gets You Stuck: Practical Tools for Creating Spac...Jack Pringle
The legal profession faces a bewildering array of challenges. And when new computer technologies, evolving client expectations, and competition force changes on the profession and the way we do business, some of the tools that have served us well in the past may fall a little short.
As a result, managing change when the “new” becomes “the normal” can be overwhelming. Unfortunately, too many attorneys react to the distresses of the law practice by isolating themselves and turning to unhealthy and dangerous actions and habits.
This presentation offers a little bit of perspective on some of the reasons attorneys often are more susceptible to isolation and destructive behaviors, argues that a healthy mind is a crucial tool for all attorneys, and offers some practical strategies for surviving- and hopefully thriving- in an uncertain world.

How to write killer posts faster and easierJane Sheeba
Every blogger wants to write killer posts but they just don't know who. Here are three simple steps that will help you write killer posts faster without much sweat and pain.
The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.

2. You are scared
Creating something requires a leap of faith.
You have ideas.
You have to break through - your ideas
require you to take a leap.
3. Fear Creates Excuses
We can think of a million reasons why we can run away.
However, when we look at the future - we won’t remember
the excuses, just what could have been.
4. Exercise
Write down your top three fears that stop
you from creating.
You have 2 minutes.
• I know that you might sit on the edge of
your seat for 1:50 seconds, but it is critical
for you to engage and sit with this for now.
7. Creating creates clarity!
The beautiful thing about writing is both
understanding yourself and your priorities.
Even in that short exercise - you see what you’ve
clarified the fears you have. It’s out in the open.
11. Content is a gift
One of the greatest gifts of creating is having the ability to give that gift to
someone else.
12. If I give you some
time to think about
it, I bet you could
think of ten things
that would help
either
• a) someone that is in that priority list.
• b) facilitate that priority more effectively.
• c) educate someone about that priority so they
can understand.
14. The Result!
•Just right there, you’ve created 10 blog posts. It’s amazing how
quickly we can come up with ideas when we are primed.
15. YOU DON’T NEED A
COMPUTER FOR THIS
• Your phone will work!
16. We are going to
make a blog – right
now!
• Go to wordpress.com
• Select create a blog today
• Pick the writing category
• Select non-fiction & memoir
• List of my latest posts
• Click Libretto
17. Finishing the job • Your domain name can be one of the following
• Your name or initials
• A random color + something that’s
interesting [ EX Orange Rollerblades]
• A verb and your favorite animal [ ActionCat!]
• Select the Free option (if your domain is taken
WordPress will generate one for you)
• Free plan
• Create Your account
• CONGRATS YOU OWN A BLOG – Done
18. Why WordPress?
• WordPress gives you the option to make whatever you want. If you want to
write, post a picture, do video – the tools to everything are there. If you want to
be anonymous, then WordPress doesn’t ask for too much other than an e-mail,
so there is very low risk to get started.
19. So, now that we
have a blog, what’s
next?
• All I want you to do is write three
sentences. That’s it.
• If you want to write more, that’s great, but
stop at exactly three sentences.
20. We want to build the habit!
•On the 30th
day, I want you to write about one of
the topics you wrote down before.
21. Congrats, and
welcome on this
journey of
self-discovery.
Remember, all I ask is that you put down
three sentences over two minutes!
Trust the process on this one, every few
days you will be amazed at what happens
when you push through.
