2. CPU
• A CPU is a short way of saying a central
processing unit, a cpu is the brain of the
computer it controls everything in the
computer
• We usually use MHz (e.g. 300 MHz, 550 MHz)
because the CPUs are too fast to measure in
Hz
• You can change the speed of CPU in BIOS of
your computer
3. ROM + RAM
• ROM stands for read only memory this is used
for saving work on the internal memory and
although the computer may be turned off the
computer will still retain their information and
this information will not be lost
• RAM stands for random access memory this is
used for saving your work and then you can
come back too it later on and you can either
edit it or delete it
4. ADAPTER CARDS
• PCI – periharal component inter connect, can
either be 32 or 64 bit slot on the mother
board
• Pcle – (periphiral component interconnect
express) is a serial bus expansion slot which
has a x1 x4 x8 and x16
• It is supposed to replace AGP as an expansion
slot for a video card
