CPR is an emergency procedure used to maintain blood circulation and oxygen to the brain and body during cardiac arrest. It involves two techniques: cardiac massage and artificial respiration. CPR should be started if the infant is not breathing normally or at all and is unresponsive. The basic steps of infant CPR include checking the scene and infant for injuries, calling for emergency help, providing chest compressions, opening the airway, delivering rescue breaths, and using an AED if available. CPR can help save an infant's life during cardiac arrest.
