Little Big Planet is a puzzle-platformer game for the PlayStation 3 where the objective is to complete puzzles and collect stickers hidden in the levels. The gameplay involves solving simple puzzles that are fun but don't get boring, with graphics that match the gameplay style. While each level could benefit from more puzzles and a storyline to link them, the evaluator did not find any bugs during gameplay. They gave the game a 7 out of 10 rating and felt it achieved its potential during the 1 hour of gameplay.

This document presents the research work of Vo Thi Kim Ngan on her master's thesis studying the extraction and isolation of caffeine from green tea. The research aims to optimize the extraction of caffeine from Vietnamese green tea leaves using water and to isolate caffeine from the tea extracts using different adsorption columns and desorption solvents. Key findings include establishing the optimal extraction conditions for caffeine using water as 3.2 times more caffeine was extracted than EGCG. XAD-4 was found to have the highest adsorption affinity for caffeine while IR-120H adsorbed most EGCG. Acetone showed the best ability for desorbing caffeine from the columns.

Designing Playful Society Prototypes

Norway Algebra Challenge

Building a global community of edugamers
Kirsten Campbell-Howes gave a presentation about building a global educational games community. She started designing games by accident in 2011 and launched #LEGup, which has grown significantly with over 700,000 users across 126 countries. #LEGup has also received investments, partnerships with companies like Telefonica and RM Education, and a licensing deal in Japan worth £250,000. Campbell-Howes discussed the growth of the UK educational games community and ambitions to continue growing edugameshub to connect and support others in learning, playing, and growing together through educational games.
Branding through playful interaction
Brands are looking for new ways to get consumers' attention as media and information overload make traditional advertising less effective. Playful interactions that appeal to consumers' sense of curiosity and childhood imagination can create memorable experiences that drive word-of-mouth activity and purchasing decisions. Successful branding strategies think differently by designing playground-like spaces and digital experiences that bring out people's inner child and foster unexpected positive interactions between the brand, consumers, and community in unique places.
