other application materials. I also asked them about what they thought of summer school
and other things they wish they would have known about the structure of summer school.

Reflection/Summary
Conducting a Job Search and Developing Resumes/Questions
It was an interesting process for me to redevelop my resume as a true professional. Throughout
my time in college, I used a general resume that listed the jobs I worked in high school and
college. Then, as I began applying for teaching jobs, I sought out the help of my older friends
who I knew applied for teaching jobs recently. I asked them for help in building a truly
professional resume that would stand-out as I applied to teaching jobs. From this experience, I
believe I was set-up well while applying for jobs. I was applying for my first teaching job, so it
was incredibly important for me to make sure everything looked as professional as possible.
Conducting a Job Search and Developing Resumes/Questions
I used the same method as I was preparing for my first teaching position when I applied to teach
summer school this last year. I always think it is important to ask advice from other people about
what materials they used and what suggestions they have. This gives some important insight into
the position and the application process. As I was thinking about applying to summer school, I
enjoyed hearing the perspectives of other people who have taught summer school and getting
their advice. This year was a little different for summer school because most of the instruction
was online. Typically, summer school is taught all in person. However, this year we had to teach
through zoom meetings because of the COVID-19 situation. This made teaching for summer
school different than in year’s past because many teachers are still new to teaching online. Being
a new teacher, I thought it was highly beneficial for me to teach summer school because I was
able to learn the recent technology equipment and how to teach online in an effective way.

Providing and Receiving Feedback from a Partner
Rochelle and I worked together on this final assignment. We met together through a Zoom call
on Friday, November 20. I was excited to work with her because she has so much experience in
education and I am just getting started. She gave me some great feedback about how to lay my
information out in a more specific way. She told me it would be beneficial to highlight more of
my experience and be a little more specific with what I have done in education. She also told me
about what she has done with her resume since becoming a counselor and this was great advice
to hear from her. I told her that I thought she could be more specific on her resume in the key
skills section, but I thought she did a great job overall!
